  1. Priceline let me down. I was bidding on a 3.5 star for a week without success. Priceline Express showed a 2.5 star for $70 in Fullerton Brea, so I was also bidding for a 2.5 star offering up to $63 without acceptance. So I gave up and took the 2.5 star PE offer at $70. I got the Extended Stay America, a 2 star. That's right---they offered me a 2.5 star and delivered a 2 star. I am certain that if I bid for a 2 star I would have done better than $70. Here's the bad part. Giving this hotel 2 stars is incredibly generous. This was the second worst hotel in my life. Dirty, the staff nowhere to be found when needed, they locked me out saying I had only paid for 1 night rather than 2. Luckily I had my receipt. I love Betterbidding.com, this was my first failure. I usually can narrow the likely result to within 2 or 3 acceptable hotels. The posted wins give me a good idea of what to bid.
  2. I am going to Boulder and was afraid of getting stuck with the Millenium, so I decided to bid for a 4 star in Westminster close by. I was hoping for the Omni. First bid $70 accepted by the Flatiron. The Priceline booking for this hotel was $98. I used the PRICELINE link from betterbidding.
  3. Started at $60, added zone, bid $70. Won the bid. I was targeting this hotel based on other wins posted here. I was happy until I got there. This is a 2 star at best. This is the first of many Priceline wins that was bad. Normally, BetterBidding allows me to identify a good price and a method to identify the likely hotel but I should have looked at the reviews elsewhere. Old, no amenities. Another priceline customer had a problem with his reservation not being honored. The desk clerk was a jerk to the guy (who was remarkably calm), smug and demeaning and not trying at the least to help resolve the problem. There are apparently far better 2.5 star hotels. (Best Western plus, Outlook etc) but my guess is that this place will jump in and take the bids. I wonder if there is another way to avoid this one besides not using priceline. I would have been disappointed if I only paid $40.
  4. I bid $60 for a 4star downtown. Accepted at Hyatt Regency. Very happy. I used the PRICELINE connection from this forum.
  5. I really just needed a clean place to sleep, maybe swim. I wanted free parking. Location was not as important. So I bid Mississauga 3* $ 30 rejected ( I knew it was low,but why not.) I added Don Valley and raised offer to $45 Accepted at Four Points Mississauga. I used betterbidding PRICELINE link. I have used it before thereuare, this is a great site. Thank you for the help.
