  1. Stayed here a couple weeks ago. Its located in North Jersey so if you are going into NYC it's a great place to stay. This hotel has a "big time" feel. Lobby is awesome, and a great bar on site. Rooms are dated, but they begin a renovation later this year. Parking is free but you have to get your ticket validated. Plenty of restuarants within walking distance. A glass of wine is $8. Swordfish was great My only complaint was breakfast. I rarely get room service, but I was working on my laptop and decided to give it a try. Two over easy with bacon and hashbrowns was $20 and it sucked. I almost sent it back but I was pressed for time at that point.
  2. I booked this hotel before I knew of this board. This is the third time I have got this hotel. Dublin is about 10 minutes from downtown Columbus. It's a nice hotel, and near a bunch of resuarants within walking distance: Longhorn, PF Changs, Macaroni Grill and a Japanese Steak House which is great. Only problem I have with Hyatt Place are the lobbys. They make them like a Starbucks. They are too trendy for my taste. I am a big lobby guy because I'd rather sip a glass of wine in the lobby and read the paper or do work, than be couped up in my room. But this place it's tough to do. I don't want to be relaxing at 7pm drinking a Chardonay, and have a guys suit bag 4 feet from me while he checks in. Continentakl breakfast are very disogranized too. There are buckets of dirty dishes right next where you are preparing your cereal or buttering your toast. But for $34, how can I complain? Rooms generally are north of $140 on the Hyatt website. I have never paid more than $45 here. Rooms are spacious with a 42" plasma and a huge sofa to relax.
  3. I just stayed here last week. I got it on Priceline for $50... It's very clean and a sports bar on site. But let me tell you, this sucker is old - built in the 60s. You can hear everything next door to you, regretably even the bathroom activity, and I am not joking - there was someone really having some issues next door. Plus, there are no fans in the bathroom either, so when you get out of the shower its a steam room. The hotel is huge, it just goes on and on with corridors all over the place. Its designed for business and conventions. A good value for the price. I talked with the guy at the front desk and he said since the hotel is so large they do a lot of business with Priceline to take up the leftover inventory. Pro: Sports Bar on site, clean, great value, refurbished rooms, priceline value Bad: Paper thin walls, hearing bathroom activity next to you, creaky elevators
  4. I am staying at the Hacienda on 3-28. I got it for $55 and was also shocked. I usually get the La Quinta for $55 and I prefer it to the 3* Crowne. The La Quinta there is great and have awesome beds and newly refurbed rooms. I just assumed I was going to get it. When the freaking Hacienda came up I was pissed. I called up PRICELINE and threatened to never use them again unless they moved me to another hotel. I was bluffing, and the guy on the other end of the phone, began lecturing me about "the contract". I said some not so nice things, and he actually began shouting back. It was actually pretty funny. I guess they get calls like this all the time. I use priceline like 10 times a month, sometimes more. I told them if they did not move me, I would use only HOTWIRE. Like I said, I was bluffing, but they would not budge. Point is, they simply do not make changes, that is for sure...
  5. Yeah, I was just bent at the ESA winning bid. I think you could probably tell. Oh well. I will use your PRICELINE link next week when I bid on a Boston hotel.
  6. I pricelined my request and got stuck with an Extended Stay. I have to admit I am somewhat disappointed with the lack of response to my question. I posted this hours ago. I hope the lack of attention is a fluke. It probably is. Everyone has a bad day.
  7. I got a 2 * Extended Stay in Culver City. I have business in Santa Monica so it's close by and I just refuse to pay $140 a night in Santa Monica for no reason. Even though I vowed never to do a 2* again, I went ahead and violated my own policy. Ironically, I have stayed here before. About a year ago, I pricelined this hotel and got it. Oh well. I have stayed in Santa Monica at the Holiday Inn Express and its simply a Best Western re-furbished. I just hate no frills hotels like ESA. And this place is no frills. I mean, you get no coffee or shampoo - nothing, not even a pen. LOL. Whatever. I might spend 7 hours total each day in the room...The three "s" is all I need this place for.... Oh well who cares. March 26-28th, two nights Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $45.00 Subtotal: $90.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $20.49 Total Charges*: $110.49 Note, next time I will use your PRICELINE link. New to the board. I used priceline like 10 times a month...
  8. Trying to get two nights 3-26 through 3-28. Also can anyone tell me what 2 star hotels are in the Westood/Brentwood zone on priceline?
