Guys I not only lucked out again getting an upgrade to club lounge level on the 41st floor, but also had a front row center view of the Festival of Lights concert and fireworks! I must say it was amazing. Oh yea and on top of this all they gave me a 1000 points because I had to wait in line a bit. :) This Sheraton really is something, I don't get treated like this at Marriott even with my Platinum status! Again I wish you all the best in th upcoming holidays and the new year. May this year bring to you and your loved ones lots of joy and prosperity.

Not really and I only have Gold status with SPG which should not really matter anyways as PRICELINE wins are not eligible for upgrades. I guess my check in agent was just a very nice guy. Overall the staff at this hotel are generally very accommodating based on my experience. While I didn't ask for one this particular time, don't be shy to ask for an upgrade in a nice way!

4* zone in Downtown Toronto is a very easy rebid zone. You have 7 rebid zones before you need to wait 24 hours so if you do it right you should get the lowest possible price. Currently, just use every rebid zone except for: "North York" and "Airport" as all the others are 4* free.

Yes Marriott is smoke-free chain wide but I was talking about the Sheraton Center on Queen St. That's another hotel that comes up frequently on PL and does actually have smoking/non-smoking rooms but they will go smoke-free by January or sometime around then as well.

No problem. As a heads up, The Sheraton Center will soon (by 01/09 last I heard) go entirely smoke free as well.

First bid went through :) . This is a nice enough hotel. On the lower end of most Marriott's I've been to but still pretty good and location is superb just 2 minutes walk from the posh Yorkville hot spots. Anywho, my Platinum status was recognized and was upgraded to a suite! I do however stay here on corp rates quiet often so maybe the girl recognized me as technically this rate generally nullifies any upgrade benefits based on status. Also no mention of Priceline at checkin. Used the PRICELINE link from this site.
