  1. Amenities: Free parking, Free internet, Pet friendly, Airport shuttle, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower. Used the HOTWIRE link at this site for the purchase. Lowest advertised rate (at Priceline) is $90. Thanks.
  2. Just FYI -- This hotel is in Maine. I thought I posted it on the Maine page, but the thread ended up under Canada. Thanks. Liz
  3. Used the HOTWIRE link on this page. This is a good rate for this hotel -- hotel website is quoting $134 prepaid for same dates. We are frequently in the area because our son goes to college in Brunswick and the hotel is the most convenient to campus. I would definitely rank it more than three stars, so I was skeptical even thought Hotwire claimed the last customer had won this hotel. Amenities: Free parking, Free internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Restaurant(s), Golf nearby, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower
  4. I did not know about that! Thanks for the tip. Will definitely check it out for future travels. Liz
  5. Used the PRICELINE link on this page for all bidding. Had been watching the rate on this property for a few weeks. It recently fell on the Marriott website. There are not a lot of 4.5* hotels in this zone so I could surmise the Priceline Express Deal on offer was for this hotel. The Marriott published rate was $259, the Express Deal rate was $154 and, following multiple rebids, I got $143. And Hotwire was $183. Very happy with the result. Thanks for this forum. Liz
  6. Used the Hotwire link on this forum for my purchase. Amenities listed: Free Parking, Airport Shuttle, Pool(s), Self Service Laundry, Free Internet, Smoke Free Rooms, Restaurant(s), Internet Access, Indoor Pool(s), Fitness Center, Business Center, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible Path of Travel, In-room Accessibility, Wheelchair Accessible, Accessible Bathroom, Handicapped Parking and Roll-in Shower. We are happy to stay at this hotel again and the price represents an over 30% savings from the lowest rate I could find elsewhere. Thanks for the forum. Liz
  7. Amenities Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Indoor pool(s), Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access Used the Hotwire link on this page. Thank you very much for this forum. Liz
  8. Just booked this using the PRICELINE link on this website. I took a shot in the dark and started bidding at $70. I received a request to increase my bid to $86. I went ahead and did so because there are no free rebids in this zone and my husband wanted to get the details of the trip locked down quickly. The rate on the Marriott website is $119/night so I am satisfied with the deal. Liz
  9. Hello -- To be clear, the list above is all I saw when I clicked on "See all" BEFORE I completed my purchase. AFTER I completed my purchase, I was able to see a fuller list, as follows: Free Parking Free Internet Indoor pool(s) Airport Shuttle Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
  10. Hello -- Booked this room on Hotwire from my son and husband. The amenities listed just before I booked were as follows: Free parking Free internet Indoor Pool Airport Shuttle Smoke Free Room Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Laundry Facilities (Self-Serve) The listing also claimed the full rate was $104 and 95% recommended. Used the HOTWIRE bidding link on this website. Thanks so much! Liz
  11. Oh rats, I just realized there was a separate tab I was supposed to click to post wins. It has been a while since I have been here, so I apologize. Liz
  12. Started bidding yesterday at $26 and gradually worked my way up a few dollars at a time using free rebids. I continued today and got a counter offer at $55. I refused it and continued to raise my bid until I was successful. The taxes and fees are $13.57 for a total of $61.57. Orbitz has this hotel listed at $89 for that evening. Used the PRICELINE link on this page for all bidding. Thanks! Liz
  13. Used the PRICELINE link on this page for all bidding. Must be something going on in Denver that weekend -- I tried 4*, 3.5* and 3* in Downtown with no luck. Same for Cherry Creek at 4* and 3.5*. But this worked out well; couldn't find anything less than about $100 using other channels. Thanks for this forum. Liz
  14. Marriott Norfolk Waterside Room Subtotal: $60.00 Taxes & Fees: $16.96 Total Charged to Card: $76.96 Started bidding at $48 and used free rebids in $2 increments. Used the PRICELINE link above for bidding. Thanks for the great forum.
  15. Guten Abend! We liked the hotel very much. The employees were friendly and helpful; the rooms were comfortable and quiet. The restaurant was nice although a bit expensive. But there are other places nearby for breakfast if you are watching your pennies. The hotel is near Rockefeller Center, within walking distance of Times Square/the theater district, as well as many restaurants and shops. We got reduced price theater tickets at the TKTS booth in Times Square; I highly recommend doing that! Hotel was very convenient to the subway and of course there are always taxis out front. There appears to be a street market on Lexington in front of the hotel on Sundays, so you will see that. The neighborhood felt very safe. Enjoy your visit in New York!
  16. Hello all -- I wasn't sure where to post this comment, so please forgive me if there is a better place on the board for this message. My husband and I just completed this stay. I wanted others to know that when we checked in, I asked, very politely, if our room could be upgraded. The front desk clerk was very friendly and she upgraded us from a "cozy" room to a "spectacular" room (two class upgrade). We were grateful because we understand the "cozy" rooms are quite small. Just so you know, this hotel doesn't seem to stigmatize Priceline users so go ahead and ask for a room upgrade -- can't hurt to ask. I noticed this hotel coming up a lot in this zone, so I thought I'd pass this tip along. Thanks. Liz
  17. Used the PRICELINE link above. Using free rebids, I bid unsuccessfully from $115 to $140 in Times Square and then MTW. I switched to MTE. At $115 I got a counter offer at $135, which I turned down and continued to uptick using free rebids. Hit pay dirt at $125. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $125.00 Subtotal: $375.00 Taxes & Fees: $81.06 Total Charges*: $456.06 Thanks again for this awesome forum.
  18. Used the PRICELINE link above. Made the same mistake twice -- this was my first bid for this zone. Perhaps should have started lower. I struck out with a resort for that weekend. Still, the hotel's website was offering rates beginning at $126, so another good deal. By the way, I believe this website lists the hotel as 3*. Thanks again for the forum.
  19. Used the PRICELINE link above. Wonder if I could have gotten it cheaper, this was my first bid for this zone (Had no success in the Tucson North zone for resort). However, the rates on the hotel's website start at $249 so I can't be too greedy. Thanks for the forum.
  20. The results were the same ones shown on the hotel list on this website: Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet Liz
  21. Amenities were exactly as stated on the hotel list. Used the HOTWIRE link on this website. Thanks! Liz
  22. As I suspected. Thanks for the help and I will let it go. I don't mean to imply that I was totally dissatisfied, as I can and have stayed in many modest accomodations and there were some genuinely nice things about the hotel (location and friendly staff). I was just trying to figure out if this was out of line, and conclude that it is not. Thanks again for the forum!! Liz
  23. Hello -- Yes to both your questions -- there was a restaurant on site, and room service was available from there. I'm pretty sure the desk was staffed 'round the clock. However, the rooms were more in keeping with the "Economy" category -- simple furnishings, basic amenities. There was no clock in the room, the bed was hard as a rock, the necessity of flipping the circuit breaker in the room to operate the lights, small/old TV that needed some coaxing from staff to work -- once inside the door of the room, I felt like I was in a very basic budget hotel. However, there was a small kitchenette, so perhaps Priceline's thinking was that that offset the modesty of the room furnishings. You are correct about my sense of the "feel" of the place -- when I first arrived, two other guests were attempting to settle their bills with cash -- and counting out coins in an effort to come up with the full amount. First impressions can count for a lot! :) Thanks so much for your help. Liz
  24. Hello -- Please forgive me if I am posting in the wrong place or my question is answered elsewhere on this board. I thought the hotel, while adequate and friendly, was not really a 3-star hotel. I just looked at Priceline's FAQ on star levels in Europe and think that their description of a 2-star hotel would better match this hotel. Is it worth contacting Priceline? I realize these things are subjective and can give you more details if you want, just trying to get a sense from others what to do here. Thanks!! Liz
  25. Used the PRICELINE link above for all bidding. Started at $47 and worked my way up over several days, using free rebids. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $77.00 Subtotal: $308.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $48.18 Total Charges*: $356.18 On the hotel website, the cheapest unrestricted rates were $169 per night, $125 for AARP (for which we qualify). Thanks for this great forum! Liz
