  1. We will be in Madrid June 3-6. We would like a 4* or 5* star rated hotel. If possible, we would like to keep the room under $175 USD per day. Places we want to see include Prado Museum, Royal Palace, Retiro Park, Sorolla Museum, Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, etc.
  2. My mom and I will be in Madrid, Spain in June for three days. We have never been to Madrid before, so we are not sure where to stay. Since we will only be there a few days, what area/s would you suggest to bid on? Thanks for your help! Barri del la Estrella Campamento Carabanchel Alto Castellana - Chamberi - Salamanca Comillas East Madrid Suburbs Madrid North Madrid Southwest - Alcorcon - Leganes Prado Museum - Atocha Station - Retiro Puerta de Hierro Real Madrid Bernabeu Stadium - Chamartin Royal Palace - Plaza de Espana - Old Town Barajas Airport - Feria
  3. The desired star rating is *5, and our budget is probably around $125 or less if possible. Thanks again for your help!
  4. My mom and I are going to London for a quick two day visit to the city. Since we are there such a short time and I have never been to London before, we would like to stay in the best area possible to see the most we can of London. I looked on Priceline at all the different areas, but I am not sure where to start. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance for your help!
  5. I did use your suggestion by trying Hotwire (which I had never used before). Using Hotwire, I did get the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 4*, in the Mag-Mile Streeterville area for $75 a night plus taxes, etc. I used your HOTWIRE link. You were sooo much help. Thank You!!!
  6. I am still learning...when you say that the Embassy Suites are not showing for these dates, what does that mean?
  7. Thanks for the suggestions! You have been a lot of help. I have one more question. I noticed on the Hotwire Forum that several people got $89 for the Embassy Suites (3*) in the Mag Mile-Streeterville area. What do you think about that hotel? I have stayed at Embassy Suites before and have really liked them. It seems like a remember you get free breakfast for staying there. How about the location of the hotel--is it comparable to Priceline's River North-NMA area or more like the Millennium Park-Loop-Grant Park zone? Having never been to Chicago, I still not too sure where everything is located other than seeing it on a map.
  8. After thinking about what you said about the nightlife in the River North-NMA area, we are thinking about maybe bidding for that area instead of the Millennium Park-Loop-Grant Park area. I know it is more expensive, but I think we will enjoy it better. If you were bidding for 4* hotel for June 8-12 in the River North-NMA, what would you start out the bid at? Thanks again for all of your help!
  9. Thanks for the great information so far! We would like to stay in a 4* hotel with a budget of less than $75 per night if possible but we could go higher. I forgot to mention ealier that we have tickets to a White Sox game on 6/8 and a Cubs game on 6/11. Not sure if that makes a difference where we stay since everything is accessible from the El system. Also we will be flying in and out of Midway Airport.
  10. My husband and I are traveling to Chicago for vacation next month. We need help bidding for a hotel for Tuesday, June 8 through Saturday, June 12. We have never been to Chicago so we are not sure which area in Chicago to bid for. We do not plan to rent a car so our hotel would need to be near public transportation.
  11. I am planning a week long trip to the Los Angeles area and wanted to rent a car using PRICELINE. I have looked at Betterbidding.com and noticed where people have won bids at $14, $16, etc. per day. When you use PRICELINE for car rental, does your winning bid include unlimited mileage per day/week or does that vary per rental company? Thanks in advance for your help.
  12. We were traveling to the DC area which happened to be the week of the Cherry Blossom Festival. I placed several bids for every DC zone and also tried *4, *3, and *2 and bid up to $150. Because of the festival, all the hotels in the DC were either booked or those that were available were too expensive....so we decided to stay in the Bethesda area which is north of DC. The Marriott Bethesda North Hotel and Conference Center was a wonderful hotel and in a great location!! Their customer service was superb. Also a plus, the hotel was directly across the street from the White Flint Metro Station. We were able to travel to and from DC without using our car. For the duration of our stay, the hotel website listed the rooms at $299 per night so we were thankful for the PRICELINE deal of $110.
  13. I was traveling for leisure to Washington, D.C. with my husband and mother. This hotel was very nice. Great customer service. It was also right across the street from the White Flint Metro Station which gave us easy access to Washington, D.C.
  14. Thanks for the advice. I looked at the Omni but it is totally booked on one of the days we are in DC. I am still trying other areas. Also for some reason, the TravelGuy link did not work. Do you mind posting it again? Thanks again for all of your help! :)
  15. I would like to keep our budget under $125 if possible. We are taking my mom with us so the Metro would probably need to be within a few blocks of the hotel. We would consider staying outside the city as long as we have easy access to the Metro. I would like to avoid splitting our stay between hotels but I may not have a choice.
  16. I need advice on using Priceline to book two rooms for three adults in Washington, DC the week of March 31-April 4. We would like to be in an area that is accessible to the Metro so we can use the metrorail to see the DC sites. After looking at the Priceline maps, I am still not sure which area to bid on. We would like to stay in a fairly inexpensive area but having access to the Metro is a must. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help!
