supply and demand causes prices to go up (and sometimes down). It's peak season in South Fla and most coastal areas of Florida also.

you can always enter 2 adults and 2 kids on hotwire which will guarantee you the two beds. It's worth a search.

I sure hope the resort fee is included at least that explains $48 of it. That still leaves $70.00 of taxes and fees on 256.00 in room. :) If you look at other hotels for Hilton Head the taxes and fees are not nearly as high. I'd just love to hear Hotwire Customer Service explain taxes and fees of 45%. :) Still a great deal at $94 per night with tax during peak season. :o :) Maybe that explains why your $60 bid on priceline didn't work.

looking at hotwire, there is a 2.5* (Holiday Inn Ft Laud beach?) available for $105 as is a 2.5* at the airport. There is also a 3.5* at the beach for $119. The Diplomat Country Club in Hollywood (the 4.5*) is open for $159.

comfort is the 2* for $39 with 4 amenities (not the 2.5*) Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites is the 3* for $49. 99.99% sure. I'd spend the extra $10 (over the 2.5* and 2*) to get this one as it's all NON smoking and about a year old. It get's great reviews on tripadvisor. good luck and don't forget to use the HOTWIRE links on the board before buying.

I just did a search and the 2* in the north I saw was $39 and had free breakfast, pool, washer/dryer and internet. Search was for 2 adults 0 kids. = Comfort Inn. I'd still wait another week to see what might open up now that FSU schedule is out.

schedules are out and you safe on FSU football. 1st is 100% the LA Quinta (at least IMO) and the 2nd ? did you see a 3* in the north zone???? ps- since the FSU football schedule just came out in the last few days you might want to wait and look next week when hotels might release the dates that are NOT games.

I once knew a "hotelier" who's pet peeve was the following: adjoining rooms: are side by side but no door in between connecting: side by side with a door in between so make sure you "request" the right one
