  1. Hi, I have been bidding on this area and star rating for my husband's trip with his brother to Madrid. I have noticed that most often won in the "around La Castellana" is the Melia Madrid Princessa and in the "old Madrid" area is most often The Westin Palace. I first bid both areas and won the Melia at a lower rate, but my husband really wanted to stay also at the Westin, so I left out the La Castellana area in my bidding. I had to go higher than I did for the Melia, but I eventually won this hotel(always knowing that we could get another 5*). This strategy works for us because he would be fine if it was another 5* (which seems more like a 4* U.S. hotel), how bad could it really be? Good Luck! I agree, the Westin is a beautiful property, well worth the $150 we won it for!
  2. I decided to book this property. I have never used Hotwire, only Priceline, but now I see the benefit. For this trip I wanted to be sure to have a kitchen and a bedroom.. This was the Sheraton Vistana Resort. Exactly as you predicted. Thank you. 3. Thank you for your input, that is the property that I thought also. I am still deciding on this stay, will let you know what I do. I will be sure to use your HOTWIRE link if I decide to reserve. Thank you for this forum.
  4. I see what you mean, when I posted this I clicked the "see all" and thought I was very careful to write all the amenities down. I looked again and see there are many more, I don't remember all of these being there. I will look again at the "Hotwire Florida" list and see if I can figure it out. Here are the amenities showing now: Resort, 1 bedroom, Fully equipped kitchen, smoke-free rooms, free parking, air conditioning, in-room laundry, children's activity program, fitness center, pool(s), restaurant(s), business center, 24hr front desk, laundry facilities, high speed internet access, golf nearby, tennis nearby, condo Thanks
  5. Wow, this is an amazing price for Marco. I live here and don't often see wins from Priceline on Marco. Enjoy your stay!

  7. Tried this bid for a few days. After some research, and winning the Melia Madrid Princessa for this same trip, I noted that in Old Madrid the most frequent 5* was the Westin. This is a trip for my husband and his brother and they really wanted this hotel. I tried for several days bidding up to $135 for these dates, each time I was offered a counter offer of $165- $170. Due to information received from this board, I knew not to accept this offer unless you are on a real time crunch. I increased my bid to $150 and was accepted to the Westin Palace. I am very happy with this hotel, it seems like a beautiful, classic hotel. Price per room(2 nights) $150.00 taxes/fees $37.94 Total $337.94 (used PRICELINE link to start bidding)
  8. Started bidding at $90 adding rebid zones. Rejected at $110, accepted at $111 for Melia Madrid Princessa. Location looks perfect, not too crazy about ultra-modern look, but can deal with that. Price per night: $111 (2 nights) Subtotal: $222 Taxes/fees: $29.80 Total: $251.80 (BTW, used the PRICELINE link, as always, Thanks for site!)
  9. Started this bid using the PRICELINE link. Started at $50, adding rebid zones, was accepted for Hilton Orlando at $65. Seems like a nice property. price for 1 night: $65.00 taxes/fees: $16.20 total: $80.20 (plus parking fee of $12, no resort fee at this property) Best price on hotel website: $145 + 18.13(tax) = $163.13
  10. Follow up: This was a really nice property, it was very clean and well kept. The room had a sitting room with a fridge and a pull out sofa. The shopping mall next door had a Whole Foods, restaurant, bookstore which made this a fantastic over night stop- no driving.
  11. Started bidding using the PRICELINE link at around $45 for the 3* level; was accepted at $65. price per room/night: $65 Taxes/fees: $19.80 Optioal travel ins: $5.00 Total: $ 88.80 Turned out to be a great historic property, very well kept.
  12. Started bidding at $35, adding re-bid zones....was accepted at $42. Looks like a nice enough property, we just need an overnight stay while traveling. I don't usually add travel insurance, but for some reason decided to on this property. I wonder if anyone has ever used it, and how diffecult it was to get reimbursement. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $42.00 Travel Insurance: $5.00 Subtotal: $47.00 Taxes & Fees: $13.11 Total Charges*: $60.11 Thanks again, I used the PRICELINE link to start bidding.
  13. Needed one night as we pass through Atlanta. Tried bidding yesterday, starting low, around $40 to $48 with no luck. Tried again today starting with one airport zone at $45, $48, $50 added 2nd airport zone and was accepted for $51. Room price, 1 night: $51 taxes/fees: $14.80 Total: $65.80 (I think parking is an additional $10) I used the PRICELINE link to start my bidding. Thanks for this great site. I cannot book my hotels any other way now :-)
  14. I just returned from this hotel. I will check to see if we were charged the resort fee. You really won't mind this fee though because it includes so much: bike, kayak, paddle boat, sunfish rental, rock climbing wall, 9 hole golf, in room internet, and transport. My kids loved the pool and all the activities, we never had to leave the hotel for entertainment. This is really a beautiful property and at that rate, you can't go wrong. You will have a fabulous stay.
  15. Starting bidding low at $45, adding rebids, but no other resort areas. I was declined at $61, went up to $65 and was accepted at the Hyatt Grand Cypress Resort. This resort has a resort fee of either $20(this is the hotel told me) or $22.50(this is what website said), but this includes kayak rental, bike rental and more so seems well worth it. They do not charge parking fee if you self park. Looks like a fabulous hotel --and for a steal. Price per room/per night: $65 2 nights total: $130 Taxes and fees: $25.58 Priceline total: $155.58 resort fee approx.: $40 Total: $195.58 Best rate for these nights(total) on hotel website: $407.00 Yes, I used the PRICELINE link.
  16. I am posting this hotel for my husband, who bid this without my knowledge. Unfortunately, he does not know about this site, so did not link through here. I don't know his strategy, but he won the Ramada of Naples, Naples (central). I did not see this hotel reported yet. Was a very well kept hotel, worth the price even though I think he could have gotten it for a bit less. check in 5/28/10 1 night accepted bid: $75 total: $91 Sorry about not using the PRICELINE link, I usually do all the bidding. :)
  17. How disappointing! Is it possible to have someone else you know use the reservation? Just a thought.
  18. Started bidding a couple days ago, tried several bids in NMA area up to $95 - rejected. Started bidding lower in Loop zone, as this was a second choice. Was accepted for Hyatt Regency on Wacker dr. for $80 per night/for 3 nights. I hope this is a nice hotel, the reviews seem a bit mixed, stayed at The Drake last time, I'm not sure this will be as nice, but price is decent. Hyatt Regency Chicago 151 East Wacker Dr. Chicago, IL Price per room per night: $80 Number of rooms 1 Number of nights 3 Subtotal $240 Taxes $46 Total $286 I used the PRICELINE link to start my bidding. I appreciate the use of this site, lots of information.Thanks.
  19. Thanks for posting this, I might need one night in the same area, around the same time. Gives me a strategy. Enjoy your stay.
  20. I stayed at this property last December. It is a great hotel, just factor in that you will be charged a $15/day resort fee. We loved it, lots of kids activities and the pool is great.
  21. We are at the hotel now (Free in room internet by the way). We decided to stay another day, asked the front desk if it was possible to get the same rate, as I suspected they said no, rate is $139 per night(one room). Went up to room bid and got same hotel for $52 per room per night! Yes, used the PRICELINE link. Thanks again.
  22. I used the PRICELINE link. Started bidding at $40, increased by $3, adding rebid zones. Accepted for 2 rooms $52 per room per night. Crown Plaza Hollywood Beach Resort Hotel 2 rooms 1 night $52, Total with taxes for both $124.38. I called hotel, no resort charge, however, I noticed on another post they charge $14 per night parking. Thank you for this site.
  23. I stayed at the Omni in Dec. and it was nice. They had alot of children's activities, the pools are nice, especially the lazy river. The kids loved it. The beds are average, but that really doesn't take away from the resort. Overall, was a really nice, well kept hotel. Keep in mind, they charge $15per night resort fee, but this is charged by most the resorts regardless of who you book your room through. Enjoy your stay.
  24. Wanted a last minute after Christmas trip. Started bidding at $50, using rebids increased $3 -$5 each time, accepted at Omni Champions Gate (WDW) for $80 per night. Looks like a nice hotel. I know they charge a $15 resort fee, still a great deal. (I used this PRICELINE link).
