  1. When I used hotwire in October the 95% was The Westin Diplomat.
  2. A good gauge to start on how much to bid is to use Hotwire as a guide. If you want a 4 star hotel in Oahu for your dates, I see Waikiki Beach for $128, Waikiki Marina for $139 and Diamond Head for $131. I usually start my priceline bidding 20-25% under the hotwire price and bid up from there. If you want more bidding tips, you should search the board and there is plenty of advice. On free rebids and overall strategy. Use this board as a guide not as a place to have other people do the leg work for you. There is tons of information. Also, you have 5 months so take your time. I know some people want to have their plans books months in advance, but prices usually go down as the dates get closer. good luck
  3. Yes your guess was correct!!! It was the The Westin Diplomat Resort And Spa. It was the exact hotel I wanted too. Thanks alot. I used the the HOTWIRE link from this site. I'm surprised neither the near beach or beachfront amenity icon was not present. Here are the details: The Westin Diplomat Resort And Spa 3555 South Ocean Drive, Hollywood, FL, 33019 Phone:(954) 602-6000 Check-in :Sat, Nov 13, 2010 Check-out:Sun, Nov 14, 2010 Hotel rate per night: $89.00 Taxes :$16.96 Total: $105.96
  4. Shows the following amenities: Resort Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Spa Services Recommended in 95 % of Hotwire customer reviews Thanks
  5. I just check a vacation package for Hollywood, FL and it seems the Crowne Plaza Hollywood Beach was downgraded to 3 1/2 Stars. Am I correct about this?
  6. Thanks. You have been helpful and I used the PRICELINE link from this site to win my bid.
  7. Is there a way to ask for a different hotel since it's a lower * hotel than I asked for?
  8. Dates: 4/20/2010-4/22/2010 Your Offer Price: $69.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Total Charges*: $164.58 Great price, but it the Marriott seems to be categorized as 3 1/2 * hotel on every other website as well as tripadvisor. So feel let down since it's not exactly what I bid on.
  9. If you notice almost every post on this forum says something like this 4* Oahu (Waikiki Marina) Hawaii Prince Hotel $80 ... 8/6/09-8/13/09 To share just post a new thread like that and just input the dates and winning bid you won that hotel with. Hope that helps
  10. I ended up booking directly with the Hapuna Prince because they offered me a free 2nd night and a $35 credit towards incidentals. I paid $359 for the July 2nd and got July 3rd free. I think I was offered it because I joined there frequent guest program and also stay at the Hawaiian Prince in Oahu.

  13. I would really like to stay at the Hapuna Prince Resort on the Big Island from July 2nd to the 5th or just for 1 night on July 2nd. Is there a good bidding strategy that will help me win that particular hotel. I know this is at least one other resort in that area that is going for a lower rack rate. Should I wait till the date gets closer? What should be my first bid compared to the rack rate?
