  1. I've been bidding for that same night for several weeks with no luck. I've tried all zones south of central park, plus the re-bid zones for everything 2.5* and above. Thus far I've tried bidding up to $155 for a 2.5*, $190 for a 4*, $185 for a 3.5* and 165 for a 3*. I also started bidding for Jersey City last night and plan to add in Brooklyn in my bidding tonight and bump up the bids in all zones. Even looking at the hotel websites, there isn't a whole lot of availability this weekend and most of that falls in the $400/night range. Realistically, I'm thinking I'm probably looking at at least $200, before taxes & fees for just about anything in Manhattan, perhaps a little less in Brooklyn or Jersey.
  2. I started out bidding at $25 and gradually worked my way up to a successful bid of $45/room/night for two rooms for the 3* Holiday Inn Buffalo Airport for the night of May 21, 2010. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $45.00 Subtotal: $90.00 Taxes & Fees: $20.64 Total Charges*: $110.64 Going rate on the hotel website is $126.99/night. As always, used the site's PRICELINE link.

  5. Started bidding at $30 and gradually worked my way up through free rebids and rebidding almost daily in both the Downtown and Fort Lauderdale Beach zones. Finally won the Renaissance. We're taking a cruise so this should be a perfect location. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $59.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $118.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $22.20 (USD) Total Room Cost: $140.20 (USD)
  6. Definitely London, Ontario. We were there for a wedding on the weekend. Although we did get a room last month for 4* in London, England for $56 +$5 Priceline rewards. There are certainly deals to be had there too!
  7. We stayed there last month and received a renovated room on the 1st floor. It overlooked the front of the hotel and was very, very nice for what we paid. The windows were new and we heard virtually nothing from the street. I especially liked the large selection of bath amenities. Its also a very convenient location across the street from the Centraal Station, trams, buses, canal tour boats, etc... We didn't try the breakfast at the hotel but instead went to the little Prins Hendrik cafe across the street.
  8. Started bidding at $40 and worked my way up $1 at a time. Finally won the Radisson Hotel and Suites at $44 for June 20, 2009. Total with taxes $56.23 As always, used the PRICELINE link. thanks!
  9. Started bidding around $60 and gradually worked my way up to $88. Was unsuccessful at $86 yesterday. Lowest rate on the hotel website was 139/euros or $185ish US. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $88.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $176.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $29.78 (USD) Total Room Cost: $205.78 (USD) Thanks to everyone for posting their winning bids - it really helped me keep this trip affordable. As always used the board's PRICELINE link.
  10. Sorry for the confusion - the hotel currently shows to be rated as a 4*. I'm going to monitor how PRICELINE rates the hotel as I know they do sometimes change the ratings in which case I'd have an argument for a refund. I noticed some other websites rate it as a 3.5*.
  11. On Priceline's transparent site it comes up as a 4*, although I'm going to keep an eye on it as I notice it had been a 3 or 3.5* in the past. Thanks to the board for help!
  12. Used the $5/night priceline bonus cash to bump up my earlier bids. I started bidding a couple of days ago at $50 and added zones and incrementally increased bids by $1/bid. 14. Won the 3*Courtyard West Palm Beach (not airport) for $81, one night only Feb. 14/09. I was beginning to wonder if I'd get anything considering it is Valentine's Day!
  15. Just won the Hyatt Regency Coral Gables for our upcoming trip to Miami for $65/night, for Feb. 7 & 8, 2009. I'd seen others winning it for the $80-90 range/night so I was pleasantly surprised to win this at such a reasonable rate.
