  1. tilepusher: You're right. It was likely the Delta Chelsea. I've read some bad reviews about it though... Hyatt Regency is great. More than ok. But I don't think it can possibly be a 3.5*. I just tried splitting, to no avail either. Do you think prices are likely to drop closer to Sept?
  2. Thank you so much. I have bid up to $70. No luck. Looks like I will just have to swallow the price. What do you expect I should bid based on prior wins with a likely expectation that I will get my bid accepted? Am so sad I let that $56/night deal go under my nose.
  3. Thank you so much. Might be too risky to go with this one considering the low stars and unknown nature of it. So unless I post otherwise, I think we're going to not take a chance with this property. Nothing else seemed to fit 2 adults, 2 kids...
  4. I searched August 2-4, for 2 adults, 2 kids, and I only get two hits. The one with the most stars is 2.5* @ $68. Restaurant and laundry amenities are listed. Any idea what this property might be? Is it the Dalton Hotel & Suites?
  5. If a bid split seems really unlikely, I guess lets go with the $70 option...
  6. Also, I'd go down to 3.5 stars if I could predict what I'll likely get and it has decent tripadvisor reviews.
  7. I feel like such an idiot. I had seen a Hotwire deal just a week ago for my stay during these dates, 4 stars...It was $56-58. Should have grabbed it then! now i'm really kicking myself. splitting wise, i'm willing to split the stay a bit, and can bid up to, say, 65. $70 if i have no choice. i was originally hoping to get the sheraton. PS. for my last booking, I actually ended up booking directly with the hotel via an industry connection. (My stay ended up being free)
  8. Sorry for not posting my end results for the other thread. I actually ended up booking a hotel directly on that trip.
  9. Sorry for never updating my status on this thread. I actually ended up booking a hotel directly for the two days.
  10. I was really hoping to win the Sheraton Hotel in Toronto for $55 based on some people's bids for Sept 10-19, but having bid on the downtown region of toronto at $55, my bid was not accepted. I need help. I can't go much higher and can only do sept 10-19 or sept 10-18... Any suggested path of action? (I used the link to PRICELINE from this site, of course) :-)
  11. You're right, omit the Financial Area. Sorry about that. I'm looking for a 4* at the lowest price, but... They label a lot of hotels as 4* and that's not really accurate, so I want to make sure it's something that also has 4* (at least according to reviews) on tripadvisor-- is that possible at all on priceline? If not, a normal strategy for 4* would be fine...
  12. I have no idea. It's been over a year ago... but a good idea.
  13. Actually - I've posted my winnings here before, but it's been a while since I've last signed in and have forgotten my old username entirely, so I had to create a new one (I also couldn't figure out which of my email addresses I used to sign up originally). Sorry for the confusion. Westminster, Bloomsbury, Kensington, Mayfair, Notting Hill, Regents Park, even the Financial Area are all fair game for me, London wise.
  14. Hi--I've used this site before for HOTWIRE (and it's a gem!). I need some help bidding for a room using PRICELINE as I've never done so before. I want something central and 4-5* (but more importantly, with tripadvisor rating of 4 or more), assuming that taxes are not included, I'm looking for something under $125 (and preferably closer to $80). Any advice is much appreciated. I need one room, for 1 person.
