This is a long shot but has anyone had any luck for booking 4* or 5* in London for the Olympics. Specifically looking for 7/29 to 8/6

Booked Radisson Kenilworth in Soho for 240 per night via Expedia. Good rate it seems

I guess true max bid is $250. I would prefer to stay in a central location

Looked thru Expedia but expensive as well. Max bid would like to be $200 for 4* but maybe I will have to go down to 3* in another area?

No backup plan as of yet, no other reservation elsewhere

Was hoping to pay $200 or less for 4* Mayfair/Soho. Already tried $238 with no luck, how high do you think I would have to go?

Made multiple bids for 4* London (Mayfair-Soho) for 7/1/11 for 2 nights. Bid from $175 up to $238, in increments by closing browser and using your PRICELINE link.

Also tried 4* Chelsea for $145, up to $160 - no luck.

Any advice?

BID $62 for 3* and got upgraded to 3.5* Marriott.

Room was renovated and definitely 3.5* or 4*. Very comfortable and like night and day vs. 2* Extended Stay America.

Initial bid $52 for 3* rejected, hoping for the Indigo. Offer to re-bid at $69 which I did not do.

I did re-bid at $59, adding the 1* level which I knew the area did not have. The room was listed at $84/night on the web.

I was "upgraded" to 2* and the offer was accepted for $59 at the Extended Stay America.

This was not the hotel I wanted as I read many bad reviews - citing dirtiness and bed bugs. The room did turn out to be a bit dusty/dirty and a little smelly but happily no bed bugs. I would not classify it as a 2* though and I tried to complain to PRICELINE before arriving that a 2* should not have numerous dirty and bed bug reviews.

Cheapest rate on hotel website was $118/night. Ok deal I guess but I was hoping to get the Intercontinental. :)

Used the PRICELINE link to bid.

Was initially rejected for 3* and 2.5*, bidding $72. Finally accepted at 2* for $74.

Listed price on the hotel website was $158 for 1 night

If I wanted the 2.5* Courtyard more, shouldn't I bid for that first? The 2.5* actually looks better than the 3* Hilton. I'm only worried that if I bid too low for the 2.5* I might get stuck with the Holiday Inn - which itself doesn't look so good either.

March 28 - 30 (2 nights). Courtyard Marriott is $80/night on their website. Hilton 3* is around the same range.

thanks. I didn't know that they could upgrade you to a higher * level. I was asking about the 2.5* hotels in Troy because I haven't seen any posted winning bids for that here.

I'm looking to bid for the Courtyard Marriott in Troy via Priceline. It is 2.5* in the fixed price section of Priceline. Do these * ratings correlate with the Name Your Price Section too?

I think the other 2.5* hotels in Troy are Holiday Inn and Homewood Suites.
