  1. Just received Hotel Via which I didn't notice on the Hotwire list. Amenities: Business center, Fitness center, Smoke-free rooms. Free internet. Added bonus, unlike some of the hotels in this zone and star rating, there is no resort fee for this property.
  2. Notice a Priceline Express Deal at $140/night for my dates. I figured I can do better so I opt'ed for name your own price. Started my bidding at $115. Incrementally worked up to $135/night by adding re-bid zones.
  3. Started off bidding 5* Strip South for $115. Got rejected, but they counteroffered for $145. I declined counteroffer, added re-bid zone and bid $125. Got rejected and wasn't allowed to add a bid zone and re-bid. Went to the homepage and tried again by adding another re-bid zone. Bid $128, but they counteroffered $163. Odd that all of a sudden the counteroffer went higher! (Any reason for that?) Added re-bid zone, bid $135 and it was accepted with Aria! :D Not bad considering a last minute bid for a long weekend. Was willing to take the gamble that I got Vdara, Aria or Cosmopolitan. Saw on Hotwire that Aria was going $160 night. Saved myself the $25/night. Now I can apply that to that pesky resort fee!
  4. Won the 4* Hyatt Regency in Downtown Sacramento. Initially bid $70. Then had a counteroffer to raise my bid by $22. Declined that offer and added a re-bid zone. Bid $75 and won it.
  5. So I bid on 5* Strip South (used the better bidding link). Completely lowballed at $90 per night becuase I still have some time and I am not 100% sure that I will be going. If I did get it at $90/night I would have definitely made a trip for it!! I did get a one-time offer for $180. Hopefully this info will help someone. So chances are you may be able to get it at under $180.
  6. I needed a hotel room for one night in Downtown Los Angeles. Priceline was offering a 4* anywhere from $99 to $113 (depending on the day I checked). I bid $73 on the Downtown region. That bid was rejected, but got a counter-offer for $22 more. I added Culver City as a re-bid zone and bid $75. It was accepted. Sidenote: I believe Culver City is a re-bid zone or I got lucky... :)

  10. I just got back from trip. It was a great time. I tried the $20 trick to get a better room. I got a Bella View Suite. (Rialto rooms were sold out). I would definitely recommend this hotel. Everything about it was great. The room was very spacious for me and three other people. Was able to get four room keys and late check out.
  11. As a back-up you can book a promotional rate at Palazzo. Then you can bid accordingly and try to get a steal for a room by low balling. As of writing this, your dates are available on the promo. Hope that helps... http://palazzolasvegas.com/epn0308.aspx
  12. As a back-up plan, you can book a refundable rate at Palazzo. This is the best promotion I have seen out for Palazzo or Venetian... http://palazzolasvegas.com/epn0308.aspx?EMC-EPN0308 So then when you are bidding you can aim for something obviously below $179/night.
  13. Who knows...if you try to bid a room...throw some low ball offers out there, you might be able to get a room for cheaper. At least you know you have a good back-up plan!
  14. Hi there. I am not sure if this against the board rules...but as a back-up you may want to try booking with Palazzo directly. They have a special going on right now. So this way you can try bidding and get a lower rate (granted it may Venetian or Palazzo for North Strip), but also have a back-up as this is a refundable rate as long as you cancel before 72 of your actual stay. :) http://palazzolasvegas.com/epn0308.aspx?EMC-EPN0308
  15. I have a quick question for my stay in May... How successful have people been in getting two queen beds at Venetian with a Priceline accomodation? It looks like the standard room would be a Venetian Luxury which is one King bed.
  16. I just found this message board. What a wealth of information!! After a few days of reading I thought I was ready to start the bidding process. I am going to Las Vegas from May 9-May 11. I was looking to get Palazzo or Venetian. (Preferably Palazzo) I understand that 5* North Strip is usually one of the two. I searched the calendar function and noticed someone got Palazzo for $170 for May 9th. I started my initial bid at $145/night. Rejected, but counter-offered at $198. Added a re-bid zone (Convention Center). Re-bid at $155. Rejected. Added a re-bid zone (Airport LAS). Re-bid at $155. Rejected. Added a re-bid zone (Nelis). Re-bid at $160. Rejected. Added a re-bid zone (Fremont) Re-bid at $163. Rejected. Added a re-bid zone (West of Strip). Re-bid at $166. Accepted!!! I also got the option of extending my stay. I initially booked thru Venetian's website using a promotional rate of $220/night. I guess I can cancel that reservation now! :)
