Hotel was great. Originally got a room in the newly renovated section, however had to switch to the original part of the hotel because of the incredibly strong paint fumes from the renovations that permeated our room and the hallways. Hey everyone. I'm new to this board and have found it to be a HUGE asset when using priceline. I've already been able to save over $120 on a hotel!
I wanted to book 2 nights on the strip in a 4 or 5 star hotel checking in on 5/18/08 (staying Sunday and Monday night). My max per night would be about $140-150.
Only problem I've run into is that is seems this is an expensive couple of days in Vegas (for not being Friday or Saturday night). Here are some rates I found:
Venetian - $550 per night
MGM Grand - $330 per night
Paris - $429 per night
Planet Hollywood - $199 per night
Has anyone out there who has previously bid on hotels on non Friday or Saturday nights when prices are this high had any success in getting some of the great rates I've seen on this board? Anyone have a strategy for where to start when prices are so high to begin with?

Did you get the venetian as a 4 or 5 star hotel? I thought I saw it as a 5 star hotel on other parts of the website?
Staying at the Marriott in Central Columbia for one night on 3/19/08 for $60
Started bidding at $50 - rejected.
Came back 24 hrs later and bid $55 - rejected - offered to give it to me for $70.
Then I found this website and learned about rebidding zones. Immediately tried a bid for $60 using rebidding zones and was accepted!

Due to the length of the stay and need to be in a specific part of south san francisco I wasn't willing to risk it. I ended up just booking a hotel directly through their website.
