  1. I was surprised to get a rate this good after not finding any hotel for this week in Paris (even 2*) for under $140. Rate on hotel website was $269 so Priceline lived up to the 60% off ads this time.
  2. I think you'll like the NH Amsterdam Center. We stayed there three weeks ago. Only problem we had was finding it. We got off the tram at Leidenplein (coming from the train station) but no one there could direct us to it. It is only two blocks from the stop, continuing in the direction you come in, and it is directly across from the Marriott, whose sign is more visible. The internet station by the elevator says there is a charge, but if you ask at the desk they will give you a voucher or two that will give you about a half hour free. Likewise, the lobby has free wireless but you have to ask at the desk for the password. Lots of good restaurants around Leidenplein, we didn't try the hotel restaurant and breakfast isn't included in the priceline booking.
  3. Sorry for the confusion. This is not a new property to the forum, it is the Holiday Inn convention center. It was very nice (if somewhat empty) and is undergoing renovation to update the rooms. We enjoyed the stay here very much.
  4. First bid through BB PRICELINE link. With tax, $71.27. Looking forward to this hotel based on others' reviews. Thanks!
  5. Thanks thereuare. I should have tried that, but had no luck the previous week going up to $90 and was just ready to get the room. Will do next time, thanks for the reference link.
  6. In town for a conference that week. Bid 4* White House/Downtown, added Convention Center/ Capitol Hill, rejected up to $100, added 3.5*, accepted at $105 for a total with tax of $611. The conference rate was $209 (and hyatt.com $354) so this was a real half price savings. Used Betterbidding's PRICELINE link, of course.
  7. Total with tax $64.86. Tried $40 3* downtown, added airport, added 2.5* all rejected. 3* downtown $50 rejected, added airport, Holiday Inn accepted. Nice hotel, convenient enough to Great American Ballpark for the Reds games today and tomorrow. Thanks all!
  8. I started with 4* $90 Copley, added Financial District at $95, both rejected. Lowered to 3* at $80, accepted by Radisson Boston. Seems to be a good chain, and I am told that's a busy weekend, so I expect to be happy with this stay.
  9. I checked the review pages and learned it is the same hotel, just no longer Park Plaza: This hotel was previously called the Park Place Normandie, but is now just Normandie.
  10. Thanks for the help. I went the priceline route instead, bidding over the last 4 days. Today my bid of $140 was accepted by Hotel Normandie. I wanted to post this since others here were looking for that same date and might want to bid now.
  11. I started bidding 3* at $120 last Saturday, have checked other websites including the major chains and found limited room availaility (probably due to other cruisers like me). Today's bid of $140 was accepted by Hotel Normandie. THought I'd post this since others were looking for similar accomodations in this bid range that date in this and the Hotwire Forum. Thanks for the guidance!
  12. I am looking for a room after a cruise. Hotwire shows 3 Star hotel ($129)and following amenities: Near Beach Smoke Free Rooms Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby From an earlier post, this appears to be the Embassy Suites. Can you confirm this? I want to make sure it is not the Miramar hotel, which shows a lower rate on EasyClickTravel travel.com. Thanks for the help, this board is a great service!
