  1. Started bid with $60.00 and was denied, then added "dead zones" of Lewisville, Southwest Dallas, Arlington South and Balch Springs while increasing bid by $2-$3 each time and was finally accepted on 5th bid. I only included 4 star hotels (and up). About two weeks ago when I tried these same dates, I had bid all the way up to $105.00 before I ran out of areas that did not have 4* hotels and I had to quit. What a difference in price a few weeks makes.
  2. I began working on this trip for this Hotel literally 4 weeks before we were to depart. It is the only 5* in North Scottsdale, so I knew I had my work cut out for me. I began bidding at the end of October at $50. I knew I would never get that price, but I usually start really low like this when I have the time to play. I would add "Dead Zones", until I ran out of them, every day. Finally, just when I thought I was going to have to break the $100 line, my bid was accepted. Something odd....Priceline offers you the option to add a day or two onto the beginning or end of your trip and after I booked this trip, I tried to add a day on to the end of the trip-actually 2, so we could check out on the 29th or 30th, but the offer was not accepted and they came back with a counteroffer of $265.00 per night. What?!?! Anyway, I was very happy with my bid for this Hotel, and since I am posting after we have already stayed there, I can say this place was worth every penny just for how beautiful the hotel and grounds are. You MUST pay a Resort Fee of $29 per day. The Resort Fee includes a self-park, but Valet is of course extra.
  3. First offer was $45 and it was accepted. Wish I would have tried $40, LoL. I always use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links. Thank you!
  4. A long time since we have gotten this hotel in the Galleria area instead of the Le Meridien. At least you can choose to valet or not here, unlike at the Le Meridien where it is mandatory. Btw, the Sheraton Galleria now has a mandatory parking fee of $10 but now also have a great free breakfast which more than makes up for the parkingcharge.
  5. First bid was accepted, no re-bids needed. This hotel has no free parking-valet only. For free parking you have to park in the Galleria garage and walk across Noel Road.
  6. Very happy to have received this hotel again. Great rooms, very clean, always have allowed early check-in and LOTS of free parking. Amenities shown were: Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center, High Speed Internet and also "Recommended in 90% of Hotwire customer reviews". I can no longer bid in the 4* category in the Galleria area, because I do not like staying at the Le Meridien (mandatory valet parking adds $25 per day to cost of stay)
  7. I no longer bid 4* in the Galleria area because the Le Meridien is what I always get. You used to have a chance of getting the Westin or the Hilton Lincoln Center, but the last 7 times it was the Le Meridien and I cannot stand to pay $25 for parking when it is free every where else.
  8. I hate that this hotel charges for parking and the Westin just around the corner has loads of parking for free.
  9. Very happy to have gotten this hotel. I saw others had bid and gotten this hotel at this approximate price, so I began bidding and crossed my fingers. Current price on their website for same dates of travel is $359.00 per night. We are paying less than half that!
  10. Was hoping for this specific hotel as the conference is here on Friday morning and afternoon. Began my bid for a 3.5* at $40 and priceline conteroffered at $55. Chose to rebid at $45 and added the dead zone of Lewisville. Price was not accepted immediately, it took about 10 minutes.
  11. I began bidding at $50 ( I can dream can't I?) knowing that the only 4* in this area is the Omni and that is what I wanted. I bid up in $5 increments adding dead zones. Finally accepted, after much waiting, at $65.
  12. It is a good hotel, but I was hoping for the Westin Galleria.
  13. Thanks for posting your win at the Holiday Inn on Arapaho. I bid $30 for Saturday night and won it also and I would have started at $35 if you had not posted your win. Thanks again.
  14. Purchased this for a friend and showed them how to use the betterbidding website. They were extremely pleased with the hotel and location as they had made reservations for the International Drive La Quinta for $69 per night and this much nicer place was $19 less per night.
  15. I have not gotten this hotel under priceline since October 2008. I was hoping for the Westin Galleria, as I like to be as close as possible to the mall when we go to Dallas for shopping, but this hotel location is good. There are 100's of restaurants in a one mile radius and it is a straight shot down the freeway to my other favorite place to shop, North Park.

  17. You are very welcome. I plan to write a review of this property after my visit. I stayed there when it used to be a Westin several years ago, and while the immediate area is not the best, it is close to some great restaurants and they have FREE parking and a FREE shuttle to AA Center. The Mavericks are playing the Lakers that night and we have tickets and I love not having to drive and pay AA Center's ridiculous parking fees.

This was exactly the hotel I was hoping for after I saw that it had been won just a week prior to my needed date.
  19. I used the PRICELINE link here, as always. I have never stayed at this hotel before and did not even know it was one of pricelines hotels, but Courtyards are good. BTW, we stayed at the Adolphus for 2 nights on the weekend of December 18 and paid only $109 per night for a regular room from their website. Not quite PRICELINE or HOTWIRE rates, but great nonetheless. I am happy to see they are on priceline now and hope to snag one of their rooms one day! 20. Began bidding at $40, received counter offer to raise bid $12. Re-bid $45 adding dead zone of Lewisville. No go. Rebid at $48 adding Downtown Dallas, would have been happy to get room there but unrealistic for $48, and received Hilton Lincoln Centre which is one of my favorite PRICELINE hotels in this area. Hilton Dallas Lincoln Centre Galleria - Dallas North 5410 LBJ Freeway Dallas, Texas 75240 972-934-8400 See Hotel Website View Map and Directions Check-In Date: Wed, Dec 9, 2009 / After 03:00 PM Check-Out Date: Thu, Dec 10, 2009 / 12:00 PM Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $48.00 Subtotal: $48.00 Taxes & Fees: $14.47 Total Charges*: $62.47
  21. Bid $40 on 4* in Galleria and was counteroffered to add $12. Re-bid $45 and added dead zone and bid was accepted. As always I used the PRICELINE.com link on your site. I see the Adolphus is on priceline now! We stay there every Christmas, they have always had terrific rates on their website the week-end before Christmas, but nothing anywhere near $53, lol, so I hope to keep seeing them as that month nears.
  22. I offered $40 and was counter offered to go up $12 by priceline. Added a Dead Zone (Lewisville) and upped bid to $45 and it was accepted. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $45.00 Subtotal: $90.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $21.65 Total Charges*: $111.65 Used link here at betterbidding to go to PRICELINE.com
  23. Clicked PRICELINE link through Better Bidding. Started bidding at $40. No counteroffer. Raised to $44 and bid accepted.
  24. I forgot to state this, but I did use the Better Bidding link to PRICELINE.
  25. My review I posted on TripAdvisor. Booked through BetterBidding and Priceline In the interest of full disclosure, I must tell that we paid about $40 per night for 2 week-end nights, so I was not expecting too much, even though Priceline shows the hotel at 3 1/2*. The parking lot seemed to confirm my belief as it is a vast asphalt wasteland with signs posted on every vertical surface reminding you to lock your car and hide your valuables. Upon entering the huge lobby my opinion was altered. It is all marble and gleaming and much nicer than what the outside of the hotel would warrant. We had requested and were assigned to a room with a king sized bed, room 1017, facing the downtown skyline. You are required to insert your room key into a slot in the elevator in order for the elevator to go to your floor. This seems to be a secure system, but was inconvenient for visiting friends on the 7th floor as the key ONLY allows access to the floor your room is on. The room and everything inside looked and smelled brand new. The paint had not a single mark on it. Even the towels and linens appeared new. The room was spacious and had the following amenities: Dataport, wifi, flat screen LCD TV, coffee pot with Starbucks coffee and Tazo Tea, hairdryer, alarm clock/radio, ironing board and iron. The a/c was ice cold and that is no small consideration in Texas in the summer. The mattress was very comfortable and the pillows were of good quality. The bathroom is well appointed, with Bliss soaps, shampoos, etc...,but on the small side. Bathtub is of regular size. There is a heat lamp that does not heat much. By far the best "amenity" at the hotel is the FREE shuttle. It goes to the Galleria and to much of Addison. Very handy to be dropped off at the front of the mall instead of having to navigate the huge parking garages there. The only small complaint is the icemaker on our floor was not working and the pool area jacuzzi was closed. Overall, this hotel was a terrific deal and I would even have paid more for it now that I have been there.
