  1. 2nd Option, same trip: 2* Washington, DC (White House/Capitol Hill) $139... 10/16 - 10/20 Amenities: Fitness Center; Restaurant, Laundry, High Speed Internet.
  2. 2.5* Washington, DC (South of the Mall) $139... 10/16 - 10/20 Amenities: Pool(s); Restaurant(s); Business Center; High-speed Internet Access; Golf Nearby; Tennis Nearby (6)
  3. Abandoning these dates - I'm just not thrilled with prices or locations for these dates and since my time is flexible I'm going to change to October. The Sheraton National doesn't meet my "relatively close to the Metro" desire. I've done some preliminary searches for October, but nothing great came up beside what appears to be the Red Roof Inn -2* White House/Capitol - listed at $114 on Hotwire (Amenities are Fitness, Restaurant, Laundry, Internet) for the dates of 10/16-10/20 In checking other sites, Expedia has it (red roof inn) listed at $98/night by way of a discount for staying more than 3 nights. Not sure how long that will last or what extra fees (if any) Expedia tags on. I will keep checking and will start a new topic when I begin my actual search.
  4. Booked through Hotwire - either using HOTWIRE link from here or directly. Listed Amenities: Fitness Center, pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access, Tennis Nearby (6) Hilton Washington and Towers 1919 Connecticut Avenue N.W. 1 room , 2 nights April 4 & 5, 2008, Rate of $89/night
  5. Ended up staying at the Hilton Washington Towers - very successful trip
  6. Hotwire lists: 1 Shuttle 2 No Smoking 3 Fitness Ctr 4 Pool 5 Restaurant 6 Business Center Washington, DC - Thu, Sep 25 to Mon, Sep 29 - 1 room, 4 nights $69 Need to ID - nothing I found in previous posts/lists matches for 3.5 stars in Arlington.
  7. Thanks. Yeah - I'd have to agree that the $116 isn't a bad deal at all - but I'm trying for the lowest possible rate I can get. My biggest concern isn't really the star rating or reviews -- it's the proximity to a Metro station. (though ratings and review come right after that). I think the boutique property may have been the Phoenix Park. I'm going to keep looking and will post progress as I make it.
  8. This replaces that trip because the price went up to $116 & my dates are fairly flexible so I'm looking for a better deal
  9. I waited too long and the HOTWIRE price went up to $116 - so I'm re-checking possibilities
  10. 3 * white house capitol hill Fri, Apr 18, 2008 to Mon, Apr 21, 2008 $94.00 Hotwire Boutique Hotel Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access I keep waiting too long! The last good deal I found was gone for $85 and went to $116. This one is a day short of what I really wanted, but I can manage. Is there any pattern of how long the very good deals last AND how far in advance do they first come up?
  11. 4-star hotel in Dupont Circle - Embassy Row Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access, Tennis Nearby $89/night Check in: Fri, Apr 25, 2008 Check out: Tue, Apr 29, 2008 NOTE: My last trip was fantastic - stayed at Capital Hilton - it's on this board also - fantastic!!
  12. Stayed at the Capital Hilton (march 7 - 10, 2008) for $102/night on Hotwire.com (originally found it for $99/night, but I waited too long). I had a Queen room with 1 bed, and it was perfect. Not big by any means, but more than enough space for 1 person. No complaints at all regarding the room. All of the staff that I dealt with were friendly and helpful. The location was the best part of it - being so close to Farragut North (Red) metro and Farragut West (Blue/Orange) metro. Note that on weekends, the entrance to Farragut west is closed. There's Starbucks and Burger King right outside, and a Subway sandwich place about a block away. Food at the Capital Hilton is off the wall expensive. Crazy expensive! Even the markups in the hotel store were a bit crazy. That is to be expected though. Overall I'd rate my stay there as 10/10.
  13. Yes it was the Capital Hilton.. with the exact amenities shown as it was when listed for $79 - 4-star hotel in The White House - Capitol Hill Fitness Center, Business Center, Spa Services, Restaurant(s), High Speed Internet Access I wanted this hotel because I spoke to several friends/relatives who have recently stayed there and were very happy - and while I'd have preferred the $79 rate, I figured it's better to go with a known and good location. To book this directly from Hilton's site for a "double bed deluxe" on those same dates, a room is $107 plus fees and charges for 2 nights and then $152 plus fees and charges for the 3rd night. To simplify it - it cost me $355.54 through HOTWIRE and would cost me $419.07 direct.
  14. Well.. I waited until today to book and the price per night went up to $102 :) from the $79 from last week. Yesterday when I looked, The Capital Hilton didn't come up at all so I figured I'd just take it for the $102 since the location seems perfect for me. I booked through the link here - and will post any further information that is significant!
  15. Hi, Just wanted to check this Hotwire deal out. The hotel is listed as 4-star hotel in The White House - Capitol Hill Fitness Center, Business Center, Spa Services, Restaurant(s), High Speed Internet Access From earlier posts I'm guessing this is the Capital Hilton? If so, does anyone have any feedback on it? Thanks!
