  1. 5-star Hotel in The Strip - North This Hotel features the following amenities: *Spa Services *Resort *Free Parking *Smoke Free Rooms *Fitness Center *Pool(s) *Restaurant(s) *Business Center *High-Speed Internet Access *Golf Nearby *Tennis Nearby *Kitchenette I'm 95% confident it's Trump with great price ($83) but is it possible it's the Mandarin Oriental (as betterbidding considers MO North Zone) Will use HOTWIRE link when booking
  2. I am looking to bid 4* for North Strip or North Strip Vicinity. Hotel list for North strip indicates TI and Mirage. There is nothing for North Vicinity currently listed, but priceline indicates a 4* is available for North Strip vicinity. Any idea what the 4* north strip vicinity may be? Also, I am fine with TI or Mirage, but not any further North. Are there any 4* properties North of TI that are included in the north Strip map? THX
  3. Though the resort fee at the Trump is annoying, it includes use of a decent gym, pool, and parking. I believe the use of the gym at Palazzo/venetian/wynn is $40 a day! As far as the rooms at the Trump, they are far nicer than TI and even Wynn. Location is a pain in the neck, but it helps to walk off the buffets and clear the smoke from your clothes
  4. Through PRICELINE, I won the Trump for $90 a night for 3/21-3/23. Recently I checked Hotwire and the 5 star condo (Trump) is now at $75 a night for the same dates. Is there any precedent to call Trump directly to match the lower price any other options to get the cheaper rate? as an fyi I did purchase the travel insurance. Thanks for the help
  5. I saw a number of wins for the Wynn, so I figured I would try starting low especially with a fairly expensive saturday night stay. Started bidding at 90 a night and Trump accepted. I stayed here once before and was not very pleased as they didn't allow me to check-in until after 3:00 pm and never serviced my room for the one night I stayed, but it is very nice Hotel and for $90 a night, I don't think I can go wrong.....maybe should have started bidding even lower. Used the PRICELINE link provided by this site
  6. I noticed that both Venetian and Palazzo lowered their rates to $220 a night for 12/6 and 12/7. Even though it's months away, the marathon occurs that weekend and it includes a saturday nt stay. Trump was still over $50 a night higher, so I was comfortable I would not get Trump (again). I should have started $119 or so and see what the counter was. I started at $139/nt and there was not a counter....It was accepted by Venetian!!!. Probably could have got a little lower but $139 a night is pretty good. I used the PRICELINE link provided by the site (even though the monitor is a michigan fan....j/k)
  7. I had a slightly different experience at the Trump in Las Vegas. I read the previous post prior to bidding so I was not disappointed when Trump won with a bid of $165 a night for July 25th and 26th. There was a decent boxing match for the weekend, so $165 was a pretty good price even though it was middle of summer. Before I review the good and bad of the Trump, I want to put it in the perspective that it was based upon my only stay there and it's in comparison to 4-5 recent stays at the Palazzo and Venetian properties. Starting from the beginning, I thought the lobby was very nice with a large sitting area to the right with plenty of room to read, wait for others or relax. Also a nice little bar there. Checkin was a little disappointing as I got there a little before 2 pm and they said the room they had reserved for me was not ready yet. I replied that since it was just me that any room would do and they didn't offer up any others. I left my number with them and they said they'd call when it was ready. A nice little feature of the Trump is that it is a stones throw from the high end stores of the local mall...I'm sure there was planning in that. I didn't get a call so I went back at about 3:15 to checkin. I got my room and they brought my bag up and explained the features of the room. Room isn't quite as big as the suites at venetian or palazzo, but nice. Bathroom is beautiful with deep sauna tub, great roomy shower (even for someone 6'5" or so) and a builtin LCD tv in the mirror. The other nice part of the room was that you had your own fridge, stove top, blender, etc compared to the fridges of $5 water at the palazzo. tv's were HD and comparable to palazzo. Bed was comfy and fine. Some of the little things that may just have been quirks that needed to be worked out for a new hotel were the stereo (ipod player) did not work, and there weren't any tissues in the room (just an empty box). No big deal though. The pool was small but there were plenty of chairs (almost personal type cabana chairs) and very prompt service. Spa was $22 and was on par with venetian (which I think is $35 a day)...Almost same setup with showers, sauna, steamroom, lockers, etc. Gym was fairly small with no free weights, but was plenty good for a quick workout. The pool atmospere is low key, not like "sights" at the venetian or palazzo. One of the neat features of the room was a button on the inside of the wall which either can be pushed for housekeeping or privacy, so you don't have to bother with the little tags on the door. The aspect that was disappointing was the service. Check in was slow even though there were only about 6 people checking in. They had 4 workers checking people in and when I left for dinner the check in line was 30 or so deep. Almost all other hotels I have stayed at in vegas will check you in early unless sold out. I don't know how many were staying at the trump, but it was not busy, so I was a little putoff that they didn't even attempt to look for another room for early check-in. That's fine as that's the policy. But when I left to gamble for the day (and night) and requested housekeeping, I was a little miffed that when I got back to the room at midnight, they had not serviced the room at all. That's fine maybe it was an oversight. When I checked out and they asked how things were and I said the room was never serviced they just said thanks for telling us. I don't expect a chocolate on the pillow every night, but I do expect a little more out of the service from a 5* Hotel. Again, this may have been a "one off" and other than the checkin wait, non service of the room and the nonchalant response, the room, facilities and stay were nice. Bottom line, the palazzo or venetian have nicer rooms, a better location and at least from my experience better service. Hope this review is helpful for those bidding and I hope the few quirks above for the trump were anomalies
  8. Price was pretty good for a fight weekend. This was my first stay at Trump. Previously stayed at Palazzo and Venetian 4-5 times during last year, most recently at Palazzo about a month ago. I have read good reviews about the Trump, so I was not disappointed when it won out over the palazzo and venetian. However, Trump came up short in comparson in almost all aspects. High level......checkin was slow and even though they were not busy I had to wait past 3 pm for the room they assigned me; several minor items in the room were either missing or broken; and my biggest disappointment was that they never serviced my room (even though I requested it from 11 am onward) and when I mentioned it to them at checkout, they responded sorry about that and thanks for telling us. If interested in detailed review, please go to Trump Las Vegas Hotel Reviews. Bottom line, IMHO, Trump was a nice property slightly off the strip but did not compare favorably to Palazzo and Venetian
  9. $ increment bids with $139 being accepted. Previous days during last week counter was $150, but $139 was not accepted Also have been trying for 4* North Strip (TI) for 4/7-4/9 with $100 limit. No counters or and all bids up to $100 rejected......Palazzo at $139 is the better deal
  10. Started bidding at $150...counter was $188. Bid up by a few dollars each zone and after 5th zone 169 was accepted. Pretty good deal for two weekend nights
  11. and followed better bidding strategy by increments of $5 until $201....rejected on all attempts. However, the counter went from $264 a night two days ago to $245 tonight...plan to try again in a couple of nights
  12. Did you stay for a weekend and if so, what price did you get? Thx
  13. Followed the bidding procedure as described above exactly with the exception of last bid being $201 a night. First bid counter was $264/night which I did not accept. All bids rejected. Again, I did not include the South zone as I did not want to stay at The Hotel. Will probably now focus on North Strip 4* with an upper limit of about $120 a night. I'll post the results in a separate header
  14. Thanks....I may have missed one zone. Prefer not to add South with The Hotel. $200 NT max. I can try tomorrow again....any specific day(s) or time that may be more successful than above. Also, 4* in North would be OK for$109 or so, but don't want to get TI for that price
  15. I did review the bidding strategy......no dice so far initial bid 145 North Strip counter of $264 added LAS - 150 - rejected added Nellis - 155 - rejected added conv center - 169 - rejected added Henderson - 179 - rejected added fremont - 189 - rejected added West strip - 193 - rejected Didn't want to add South because didn'r want to take chance of getting The Hotel ideas for the next try? Don't want to spend more than $200/nt for venetian/palazz
  16. Started with 154 then 169...no counters....we'll try again later
  17. It's a weekend, so my max bid would be $200/night. However, I'd be happier with something like $179 a night....Thx
  18. I'm fine with Venetian properties or Wynn, though I stayed at an upgrade suite at Wynn and thought the standard suites at venetian were just as nice. Hotwire comes in at $285 at a night Thx for any help
