hey I never said that this was the westin :) in my view, 85% can be both, westin or cp. and 95% is only the westin. even the 95% property shows the bed choice button. what is more important to you: to stay in one hotel the whole time (even when it's the CP) or to stay some (or all!) days in the westin, even when you save some more bucks? Keep us informed.

Hi, if you book day by day at HOTWIRE, you'll get some much better rates: 03/09-03/10: 139$ (85%) 03/10-03/11: 92$ (95%) 03/11-03/12: 92$ (95%) 03/12-03/13: 92$ (95%) 03/13-03/14: 104$ (95%) 03/14-03/15: 104$ (95%) 03/15-03/16: 139$ (85%) The 95% destination seams to be the Westin, the 85% could be either the Westin or the Crowne Plaza. I prefer the Westin, but I never stayed at the Crowne Plaza. Based on my experience and prefence to the Westin, I suggest the following. Try to book 03/10-03/11 on priceline (Hollywood, FL, 4 stars, I suggest 66$). If you got the Westin, expand this stay to 03/09-03/10 @ same price (if denied: bid more). Then book 03/11-03/13 also on priceline (66$). (still got the Westin?) Then book 03/14-03/15 also on priceline (66$, maybe more). If it's still the Westin, expand this stay to 03/15-03/16 (@ same price) If you got the Westin in all bookings, now you can expand the 2nd booking to 03/13-03/14 (@ same price or more) I worked like this for a stay in may and was absolutly satisfied (mostly I got the 66$) :-) If you want to avoid the risk of changing the location, you have to book the whole stay in one booking @ the higher rate. $59/night, $78.37 total. Unfortunately, not happy with this hotel - it's too far away from downtown. Even the price on hotel's website is total EUR 53.50 ($73.70) - so: where is the deal?? searched for a 4* in Hollywood, FL to get the Westin Diplomat (was $95 on that night). Then I saw the Ft. Lauderdale Beach area hotel with 4* @ 86$. I took it (normally the beach area is more expensive than the Hollywood area) and got the Sheraton Ft. Lauderdale Beach. I rechecked at several websites (Expedia, holidaycheck, tripadvisor and here in the hotel list) and this hotel is always rated as a 3 or 3,5* property :-( So guys, be careful in booking a 4* @ Ft. Lauderdale Beach area. However, shown amenties were: Near Beach Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access and 4* :)

I got the Westin Diplomat at 66$. First Bid was 60$, then 64$ incl. Ft. Lauderdale Airport north, then the 66$ incl. Miramar. ...and yes, I used the PRICELINE Link here... Any suggestions how to save on parking there? namosi

40 $ / night + tax is an upgrade to the grand deluxe room (balcony + seaview), just with balcony is 20 $.

the ultimative solution: from the saved money of HOTWIRE, I booked an upgrade to a room with balcony and seaview :) couldn't be better ....

yeah, why don't we each call them twice a day? at the end they really will be pissed off by guys booked on hotwire.... you got a confirmed booking for a specific hotel and a specific adress. the hotwire e-mail only stated, that this specifc hotel at this specifc adress has no "near beach" symbol, that's all. there was never the word of changing the property.

My confirmation is also 3555 S. Ocean Drive. I agreed to the 50% deal because they didn't stated a change of the property, so it's still 3555 S. Ocean Drive and nothing else. From this adress, i don't need any shuttle to the beach :)

The classic rooms were very, very small the bed fits most of the room...but we received a seaview room. There was no coffeemaker in the room (but I don't like the US named thing called coffee ;-) and no ice dispenser on the floor as I am expected from a US based hotel. Even I missed a lamp on the balcony to read a book in the night etc. The big plus was the beach towel service, that included the towel, a deck chair with a clean linen and an umbrella each day. The beach/sea at this location is: +++ and it was silence the whole stay. On arrival I just checked in for my first reservation (04/01/08-04/05/08) an 04/04 I checked in for the further reservation (04/05/08 - 04/10/08). The advantage of this was, that they simply forgot to charge the parking fee of 25$/day for the second stay, that saved me 125$ :-) So I paid 49$ (Hotwire) + 16$ (resort fee) + 25$ (parking only first 4 days) + tax (+ tips) comes to an amount of 90$ or due to the current exchange rate 56 EUR or 65$/41 EUR for the 2. reservation. I never spend less money on a hotel in the last years....and it was worth every penny (or better EUR-cent ;-)
