  1. I ended up booking it as a 'named' hotel for 67 per night for the howard johnson as I worried too much about ending up with the Greenwood Suites. Since it was the same price as the HOTWIRE version I just went with it for the guarantee of the free parking or the disney shuttle. Jennifer
  2. Yes if I got that one it would be perfect my worry is if it were going to be the Greenwood in and suites as it seems to match better but is a much inferior property.
  3. Don't see a 3 star in this area matching these ammenities. little worried that travelocity only has a 30 percent recommendation: 3* 67 per night USD 89 per night Canadian Check in April 24-May 3rd FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Free breakfast, Free Internet, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, In-room accessibility, Accessible parking
  4. Spent a lot of time trying to get a hotel near the Alderwood Mall Area. Started at $55 for 3 star lynnwood area... rejected with rebid asked for $80 hmm uh no.. Then tried $45 2.5 star Lynnwood area ... Rejected Had boyfriend try on his computer at: $60 Lynnwood 3 * Rejected $55 Lynnwood 2.5* Rejected Added Bothell $55 3* rejected, $60 rejected tried 2.5 star at $50 rejected Finally went $45 for 2* in Lynnwood. Ended up with the Extended Stay America- Lynnwood... Looks ok... really wanted a hotel with a pool but didn't want to pay more than 90 tax in which wasn't happening by the time you add in hotel/priceline fees. Oh well at least we have SOMEWHERE to sleep and it doesn't look too bad for a 2*. Used your PRICELINE link. Closest Hotwire comparable was $58 for a 2* as well in the same area so did ok. Thanks!
  5. Have been trying for a couple of days now to get a hotel close to Alderwood mall for Black friday. Coming from Vancouver BC we didnt want to go all the way down to seatac like we usually do for the cheap hotels (usually paying no more than $40 per night) Had a bit of trouble Started at $40 for 3* in Lynnwood area... rejected Tried $45 for 3* and 2.5* Lynnwood rejected $50 for 3* and 2.5*in Lynnwood rejected Started at $40 for 3* and 2.5* in Bothell area... rejected Tried $45 for 3* and 2.5* Bothell rejected $50 for 3* in Bothell rejected Gave up temporarily Looked at Travelocitys top secret hotels.... seemed to be sold out around those prices. Waited a day to try priceline again $45 for 2.5 and 3* Bothell and Lynnwood again... Accepted 2.5* Seattle (Bothell) Country Inn and Suites, $45 ... 11/25/10-11/27/10 Very happy with this. Used the Better biddings PRICELINE link.... this hotel also includes a pool hot tub, free parking and apparently a wonderful free breakfast with eggs, sausages etc. Not to mention free cookies at night . :)
  6. Rates are anywhere from $100 - $300 per night depending on the star level. It is an expensive place to stay however it looks like others have had luck in the past getting reasonable rates when i searched "Banff " on better bidding I just hope that a bid will be accepted soon. Hotwire has a 2.5 star at $79 per night and Travelocity has one of their top secret hotels at 90 per night for a *3. I've rebid to $62 per night without luck on the 3*, 2.5* and 2*. :) trying $65 tomorrow. Jen
  7. I'm trying to find a place in Banff alberta (not canmore or lake louise) as we are at a wedding and want only a short cab ride home to our hotel room after the festivities. on Aug 19-21st I've tried bids of $50 for a 3, 2.5 and 2 star hotel... then upped it the next day to $56 again for 3, 2.5 and reduced it to $52 for the *2. Tomorrow I plan on upping it to $60 as with taxes and fees it is going over $140 for the 2 night which is really the top of our price limit. However apparently in banff there are a few 1*'s and i'm wondering if anyone has any clue what hotels they are. I dont mind if its a plain but decent place ( like a super 8) but would like to know which hotels i could be getting so i can look them up on the net before bidding. Thanks for any help. Jen (i've been using your PRICELINE link :) )
  8. I'm fairly happy with this one after realizing the extra cost of the doubletree anaheim which i had won on my previous priceline bid when splitting my dates. Used the betterbidding PRICELINE link to win this one as well. Dates were May 21st-23rd. Tried 2.5 star... no luck ... bravely went to 2* and got it on first bid. $35 but this also includes parking breakfast and internet ... which the doubletree was charging extra for! so i am very happy to stay at the travelodge as they dont nickel and dime you for the small things. So all in all i think this was the way better deal. Thanks again better bidding !
  9. Spent quite a bit of time trying to get something under $45. for the dates May 21st-25th. eventually split by bid to only the 23-25th and got the Doubletree anaheim for $41. Used the betterbidding PRICELINE link to get it. Disappointed though at 2 things. 1) they have a $6.50 per person per day resort fee which is just a cash grab 2) they charge $11 per day for parking. I opted out of getting extra nights and went down a star level so i could get free parking for my next bid (see my next priceline win).
  10. Used your PRICELINE link to book the hotel. First bid $41 in lynnwood area *3 star -- Rejected Used your advice and added another area that didnt have a 3* for a rebid Rebid $44 for Mukilteo *3 and SCORE!!! i got my Lynnwood courtyard by Marriott where i wanted for $44. Thanks Better Bidding:)
  11. Got it on my first bid. Redondo beach 3.5 start Crowne Plaza for one night on Dec 14th 2008. I based my bidding on the fact that i'd seen in won many times for approx $55 or $53 and gave it a shot for 50 and won! I'm going to call the hotel to see if we can get an ocean view :) its not santa monica like orignally i wanted but its close enough to the beach. Thanks! Jen
  12. YAY success! Although i couldnt get anything in Santa Monica i did win the Crown Plaza Redondo beach a 3.5 star for $50 on the Sunday the 14th of December. Thanks for your help and i'll do a new post in the forum.
  13. Hello, I've been making quite good use of your forum on a regular basis now and thought i'd throw this in there. My boyfriend and I will be in california for a week and have booked all our other nights hotels near disneyland. I have one more night to bid for which is the sunday before we leave out of LAX. We would like to stay somewhere near the beach or within a very short drive to santa monica pier. However we are cheap :)... and would only like to spend 40-55 bucks for a 3 star or higher. As this is what we have been paying for every other night we've bid on (from disneyland to san diego). I just want a nice place with maybe a max 10 min drive to the santa monica pier. Any advice? Or if not santa monica a very nice other beach. Advice? Thanks, Jen
  14. So I finally got a hotel for the friday night Dec 12th ... i was having a lot of trouble getting a hotel at a bid of $45 when i had previously been able to get hotels for $45 no problem. Bid 3 days in a row with a 45 dollar bid for the thursday and friday ... rejected. Then split them up got a hotel thursday for 45. But got rejected for friday on a 45 bid. Tried again with a 45 dollar bid yesterday ... rejected again. Upped the price to $50 and got the Holiday inn anaheim... too bad i have to switch hotels but at least i got a hotel for $50 with free parking :) and apparently its 2 blocks from disney so I can walk :) :o
  15. Yes i just double checked and you are right it is 3.5 star i didnt notice as i had been bidding for a 3 star hotel. Also my bid for the $45 nights on the 11th-15th in disneyland have also been rejected so i will try splitting those days. So far its just been the 7-10th that have been accepted
  16. Just won $45 dollars per night at the Orange County Hyatt Regency hotel 3 star *** near disneyland with free shuttle!!! yay! I tried $40 but it failed and asked for a $12 rebid... I DONT think so hehe so i waited a day and raised it 5 dollars instead i can use the 7 dollars i saved on the expensive drinks inside disneyland! I used the PRICELINE link from this site. Dates won Dec 7-10th 2008 and now i'm going to try for the last half of our trip the 11-15th :) I'll let you know how it goes!
  17. I didn't know where to fit this in here but All i can seem to find is older threads on Disneyland. I'm looking to stay in the disneyland Dec 7th-10th 2008 Then go to San Diego Ideally the gaslamp quarter on the night of the 10th then back to disneyland for the remainder of our stay from the 11th-15th 2008. I would like to pay LESS than $50 per night in the disneyland area as i have seen on your site many people getting hotels even for 35 dollars -45 dollars. I have bid 40 and they asked for a rebid of 12 dollars. I will attempt tonight on a different computer to big 45 dollars as it might go through. My minimum star level in Disney is 3 stars and in San Diego 2.5 stars. Any other ideas or suggestions?
  18. Also like this Priceline Seattle user had been trying all week for something 40-50 dollars in the Seattle area for this weekend. Friday June 13th. Finally was accepted yesterday at the Seattle Airport Radisson Gateway. 3*'s $50 dollar bid was accepted. Taxes $14. Total of $64. My bid in seattle was accepted for this hotel last time... which was great however our room was filthy, ( bed looked slept in and towels were ruffled, creams used etc) so i wrote a letter of complaint since nothing was done . So hopefully we dont have a repeat of this next time! Nice hotel other than that. Thanks better bidding, its nice to know how much other people are paying! Jen
