  1. They are 7 and 10yo. I did look on the accor site but price seems somewhat high. Do you know anything about the Hammersmith area as I did see a2.5 stars Ealing Hammersmith area for 79$ which I think is the Express Holiday Inn Hammersmith. Any thought or suggestions are much welcome.
  2. I am looking for stay July23-24,2008 in London for just 1 nite and after I will be staying at the Sheraton heathrow (july 24-25, hotel won on hotwire.com as pinned by super betterbidding.com) I prefer to not stay at the Sheraton Heathrow, though less of a hassel luggage wise, because i really wanted to profit from my 1 full day in London with my 2 boys and I was weary of travelling back to heathrow late at night.
  3. Has anyone won a bid for standard room on Priceline in London and adding on 1 child in room afterwards? I have 1 spare day in London and am looking for 1 room for me and my 2 yound children. I am tempted to bid on Priceline but am afraid the hotel would not accept adding on 1 child in room afterwards. Also, anyone aware of different star rating between Priceline UK and Priceline USA? I recently found that certain hotels around Heathrow such as Park Inn or Thistle are listed as 4 stars on Priceline Europe but 3 stars on Priceline USA. And that having a French address, one can not make bidding on Priceline USA. Does anyone know of way to go around this as the stars rating seem more strict and accurant than Priceline UK (for the europeans)? Thanks in advance for any help.
  4. I have 1 spare day in London for me and my 2 young children before our flight to the US. The hotels listed on Hotwire are very limited for room for 1adult+2children but MUCH MORE CHOICE and price range for room for 2 adults. Has anyone booked a standard room and try to add on 1 child after? Otherwise, for triple room allowance, I am debating between : 2.5stars London Ealing hammermith sheperd' bush hotel for 82$ - hotwire pinned hotel is Express Holiday Inn Hammersmith? 3.5 stars London Heathrow for 79$ - hotwire pinned as Heathrow Sheraton - I know this also because I have reserved this hotel for the following night before our flight I am more tempted with the 2.5 stars in hammersmith as it is shorter travelling time to central London than the Heathrow airport, meaning more "sightseeing" time. We arrive at Heathrow 9am and only have to be back in the later afternoon the following day. Does anyone have experience staying around Hammersmith area, like is it safe to walk around at night 9-10 pm with the kids? Also, anyone with experience in leaving luggage in the luggage storage area at heathrow central? Is it safe and reliable, no theft,etc..? Much thanks in advance.
  5. Just want to report a recent purchase on HOTWIRE for 3.5 stars London heathrow, facilities listed as pinned on Hotwire hotel list: Fitness, Restaurant, Business, Hi Speed Internet It is the Sheraton Heathrow; price is 79$ plus tax =96.11$. / room We booked 2 rooms for July 24-25 for our family of 2 adults and 3 children. Sheraton Heathrow promptly confirmed our purchase and request for connecting rooms. Hope this may be of some use to family looking for affordable stay around heathrow for connecting flights. Also i saw posted 4 stars heathrow with swimming pool which is most likely Crowne Plaza who will accept 2 adults and 2 children in 1 room. I did read several reviews on Heathrow Sheraton but no one has mentioned travelling time from hotel to Heathrow T1,2,3 via "free" bus. Anyone has info? :)
  6. Thank you Blindman. I would like to report that I did get HI Regents Park finally for Feb 15-18, 2008 after some quirks. After my last session on Friday when the price went up, I waited and rechecked again on Saturday morning, the same hotel listing price went down to 64 dollars again but only allowed for 5 people for 3 rooms. Then Hotwire had maintenance update so I waited till Saturday nite? to retry and the hotel came up this time at 63$ and did allow for 6 people. So happy to report Holiday Inn Regents Park amenities : Restaurant, Business Feb 15-18 3 room(s) @ $63.00 per night x 3 night(s) $567.00 + tax = $672.97 total I just got confirmation from hotel, so sorry to post this few days later.
  7. Thank you blindman for all your help. But curiously the 3star Bloomsbury hotel just went up from 64 to 99 dollars; Next time, I'll have to act quicker. I had no idea the prices change so quickly. I'll wait it out a bit more, incase prices go down again and will try your suggestion. BTW, Feb is not my choice season either but it's my husband's bday that weekend so not much choice for seasonal travel. Any idea for good affordable pub or restaurant to celebrate bday for 3 couples in london, we are fairly cool and mellow people who like to listen to rock music, foo fighters, green day etc..., drink beer and babble. BIG THANKS to you and Yellowdog for your help again.
  8. Thank you for all the help, greatly appreciated. Will look into the tube situation. From all the received comments, the 64 dollars deal just sound too good to be true. I'm just a bit nervous to get something else. Right now, i do have a flexible reservation at the Park Plaza Victoria for 78 gbp ++/nite, which is a lot more but this hotel has very good reviews on tripadvisor also. Does anyone have additional thoughts? Besides the big price differences, does anyone have any positive or negative opinions on PP Victoria (or its neighborhood) as compared to the HI Regents park? or the HI Kensington Forum? In the case I decide on the 3star at 64 dollars, is it possible to just book 1 room first to see if I get the HI Regents Park for sure, then book the other 2 rooms once I'm sure. My question is Does the hotel choice changes sometimes within period of 10 min? Does anyone have experience with this?
  9. I need help to pin down London hotels for my stay Feb 15-18, 2008 On hotwire, I saw 3stars Bloomsbuy, Marble Arch Restaurant, Business 64 dollars Can anyone confirm if it is most likely Holiday Inn Regents Park? Has anyone stayed here before? For this price, I am afraid to get some "dump" 3.5 stars Kensington, Chelsea Restauran, Fitnes, Business 95 dollars Any idea? I will be travelling with 2 other couples, all of us, being our first time in London, would like to find some convenient and lively area to stay in and easily accessible by tube from heathrow would be a nice plus. Thank you
