  1. Bid a month in advance in Beverly Hills/West Hollywood Zone, tried $50, priceline countered with $64 and I took it because I really wanted the Hyatt and I thought it would come up. Nice hotel, very different with the black/white rooms. Balconies are all closed, the noise from Sunset never bothered me and I had to be up every morning at 5-6 am. Workout room was good, parking was only downfall, $12-14/night for a tiny little parking lot in back (company covered parking cost). Only had one time where there were no spaces left, but found one 15 mins later. Knew someone paying upper 100s for the same stay. Worth staying here though, good location and a hotel worth the experience. Overall: 9/10, especially for the price and experience
  2. Bid last minute again on March 27, orginally tried Marietta area for the Sheraton Suites at $28, got rejected, added Perimeter at $30, got rejected, then added Norcross and got accepted at $32. Was a nice hotel, used HHonors to get on the 10th Floor and had a decent view of downtown and Stone Mtn. Large rooms with good lighting, nice bathroom and had some breakfast a few doors down for those staying on the 10th floor. Indoor/outdoor pool looked ok, didn't go in, used jacuzzi which was fine. Workout room was decent. Lobby was nice and parking was free. Only downfall is the entrance to the hotel is not as easy as it could be. Overall: 8/10, especially for the price
  3. Bid 2-3 weeks in advance, which was probably too early. Bid $24, got a counter offer for $30 and I took it. This Homestead is decent, good location, was trying for TownPlace Suites. Front desk tried to give me a smoking room, went back and complained after 5 secs in the room. Got free upgrade to king bed room, n/s. Guy at front desk told me that every Priceline bid they get, they put in smoking rooms so watch out. They also advertise for free high speed internet, but they have only 15 wireless cards which they charge you $4 for the duration of your stay. This hotel still seems relatively new, and for the price it is worth it, but there are a lot of nice 2.5* hotels nearby, so it would be worth trying harder for them first, and then settling here if you have to. Overall: 7/10, mainly for the price
  4. Booked on May 9th, had started with $38, priceline came back with an offer for $49, used first rebid zone at $42, denied, then since it was last minute stuff I used my last free rebid and got it for $48. Hotel was nice, adjacent to strip mall. Pool did not look inviting, but front desk, restaurant and atrium were very nice. New Orleans style atmosphere was very nice and the beds were good. Bathrooms were very large with huge jacuzzi shower/bath. Rooms were large with living room and bedroom seperated. But the main thing you feel in this hotel is its age, cause it was kind of old. Good for a one night stop, maybe not for a whole week though. Overall: 6.5/10
  5. Booked about 2 weeks in advance, got it on first try. Asked for king, non-smoking, only had double rooms left. After checking out one of the rooms higher up, I asked for a room with a balcony looking over the atrium. The balconies are nice, can see the atrium getting hot in summer. Rooms have nice furniture, good size bathrooms with pleasant lighting. Atrium never really got too loud. Parking was free and had a nice park across the street next to the very upscale mall. Overall: 8.5/10, price was right and was in a nice location
  6. Booked it on April 25, tried Hoover and Inverness areas first, got denied, then threw the towel in and tried downtown and got it on first try. Sheraton was nice, small bathrooms, long walk from room to car, parking $9/night, but you can park on the street for free most of the week, except Friday/Saturday when concerts/shows are in town. Used Starwood Number to get slightly better room with free bottled water and printer. Workout facility, pool and jacuzzi were decent, seen much worse. Overall: 7.5/10, mainly for the price
