  1. Well, just because it is a nice hotel. The Listel and Terminal City are still bookable through HOTWIRE, but I'm not extremely happy with those 2.
  2. I'll explain: The Opus is offered when searching for 9/21-9/25 but not when searching 9/21-9/24... So I was wondering if there is any way to get it for 9/21-9/24.. Because I won't be there 9/24-9/25..
  3. I was looking around and found the Opus Hotel for the dates 21-25th September $120 on HOTWIRE (amenities Boutique, Fitness, Restaurant, Business, High Speed Internet; Vanc. Entert. Area). However... I'm staying there the 21-24th September. Any tips on how I can still get the Opus Hotel, without paying for a night extra? Perhaps through Priceline? Or other ideas? Help very much appreciated
  4. No I'm still looking. I'll use the link if I book through HOTWIRE or PRICELINE by the way!
  5. Thank you. I also found this hotel for 21-24 september, Vancouver Entertainment District: Boutique, Smoke Free, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Hi-Speed Internet, Kitchenette. I also can't find this hotel in the list. Does anybody have any idea? Thank you a lot in advance!
  6. Unfortunately, the hotel is indeed not showing for these dates anymore... But it is showing for 22 - 24 September 2009, Vancouver Entertainment District, $103 per night. I am searching with the default setttings. Please help me in identifying this hotel..
  7. Hi, I'm trying to identify a Vancouver hotel, period 21-24 September, 4* with Fitness, Pool, Restaurant and High Speed Internet. Any ideas? Thanks a lot in advance.
  8. Well, an update on the situation: I've managed to stay at a friend for 5/7/08-5/10/08, and just booked the following for 5/10/08-5/12/08: 1st bid $80 3* Jersey City, increase bid of $22, but didn't, instead: 2nd bid $85 3* Jersey City + Elizabeth, and got: Hyatt Regency On The Hudson (showed for approx. $139 on Hotwire) Just looking for one extra night, we'll see where that's going to be. Thanks! PS Wanted to adjust the title, but did not know how to do that..
  9. There seems to be a mistake in the Priceline calendar for New Jersey. This post has a much shorter amount of nights booked than is used in the calendar. Can this be fixed?
  10. So that means that when I, for instance, cancel 2 days prior to arrival, I pay no money at all?
  11. That's strange, as I am looking right now, and enough rooms are available (5/7-5/13). Rate $200.
  12. Hi, It is the Cosmopolitan Hotel, through reservetravel.com. Do you think the text means I can cancel to maximum one day prior to arrival? Thanks a lot!
  13. Thanks for the advice! I'll take that into consideration. I'm going to book a backup hotel.. I have one question (not specific for blkjck1), could anybody explain the following, which I found at reservetravel.com: "Cxl by 1 day prior to arrival cxl fee - 1 night cxl 1 day before departure to avoid 1 night fee-no show 1 night" It has something to do with the cancellation policy, but I can't make anything of it. Could you please explain it? Thanks
  14. Well, after bidding up to $200, I've decided to stop the bidding and just wait it out. Good idea? I'll book a cancelable hotel, and try it again from time to time. Any tips on where I should book such a hotel?
  15. Just to update you: I've bidded for splitted up dates to $150. In addition, I've bitted for the whole set of dates to $175. Still no luck. I'll keep you posted. If you have any tips, I'm eager to hear them. Thanks.
  16. Well, I'm still looking into it, so I'll update on the proceedings later on. I was wondering, which hotel this is on Hotwire: 2,5*, Secaucus - Meadowlands, Amenities: Complementary Breakfast, Fitness, Restaurant (Found through 5/7/08 - 5/13/08, $117 a night). By the way, what maximum bid do you think (I know you don't know for sure, it's just to get an idea) is necessary to get the 3* hotel in Jersey City for the original dates? Thanks.
  17. When you look at the Hotwire Hotel List on this forum for NJ, it most likely is the 3* La Quinta Inn and Suites Clifton.
  18. Thanks for your reply. Actually, I've stayed in the Pod Hotel before, but now I'm with my with my girlfriend, so I'd like to improve the quality.. I am willing to split my priceline bid, but into what parts would you recommend? As I am not sure what would be the best split-up strategy. I'm not planning to wait it out, nor lowering my star quality. I'm not very keen on moving further in NJ either. Thank you again.
  19. Hi, I am looking for a room in Jersey City, 5/7/08 - 5/13/08. I want to stay in one of the 3* hotels, preferably the Hyatt on the Hudson. However, another one will do. I have bidded on Priceline, using the Savingsbarn link, starting at 90, then 105, 115 and 125 (2 seperate bids). No success at all. I've looked on the board, but one of the highest bids I've seen is 115, most are approximately 90. What to do next? Increase my bid? Wait? I am willing to go up to 150, but only if it gives me something satisfying, so I don't think I want to downgrade to 2,5* or 2*.. I want to stay in this area to go to New York City, and save some money on hotels as they are relatively expensive in Manhattan. Is this an expensive time (I read something about an exam week?), am I too early, should I look on other sites, or is it possible no hotels are available? Thank you in advance for your help.
  20. Booked the Toronto Sheraton Centre for 5/4/2008-5/7/2008 for the lovely $106 per night through Hotwire.
  21. Well, offer was gone when I wanted to book today. I splitted the trip, and got the Sheraton Hotel for 109 dollars for 5/3/2008-5/4/2008 and 3 nights for 106 dollars, 5/4/2008-5/7/2008. So 427 total. Thanks for your help. Due to the stress, I forget the HOTWIRE link. I'll use it next time, I'm planning to book more! Sorry for that. Keep up the good work, heroes of Betterbidding!
  22. I am (still) looking for a room in a hotel in Toronto, for the period 5/3/2008 - 5/7/2008. I found a 4* hotel for $102 (Downtown Toronto West), with amenities Fitness Centre, Restaurant, High-Speed Internet Access, Pool, Spa and Business Centre. Which hotel do you think it is? It is a customer favorite. I have an idea looking at the list, but just wanted to make sure before I make the booking.. Thanks, I'll use the HOTWIRE link when booking!
  23. No thanks at all, this site is a wonderfull help in planning a big trip (or a little weekend ofcourse). I am planning to stay in Toronto 5/4/2008 (So May 4, 2008) - 5/7/2008. However, it could be that I would come one day earlier or leave one day later, i'm not sure about that yet. But I think it's going to be those days. It's for 2 persons by the way, so one room will do. Thanks for your help!
