  1. I've looked through the hotel list and searched the last few year's of posts and can't figure out which hotel this is. Perhaps it hasn't been identified.

    4* Hotel Downtown Portland

    Searching for dates October 5-7.

    Amenities include:

    Pet friendly

    Boutique Hotel

    Fitness Center

    Restaurant(s)

    High-Speed Internet Access

    Accessible path of travel

    In-room accessibility

    Accessible bathroom

    Handicapped parking

  2. First bid and I won the Hotel Nikko for $70! I started at what I thought was a low price, but perhaps someone can start lower and win it for less.

One word of caution--the Hotel Nikko charges a considerable amount ($30 a night) to upgrade to 2 double beds, whereas other hotels in the area (Parc 55 for example) have done it for us for free in the past when we've won through priceline. I realize this is always a risk you run when bidding through Priceline, but many hotels I've bidded on in the past haven't had an issue with the upgrade free of charge. Just something to keep in mind if you are counting on scoring a room with two double beds.

  3. Do Hotwire or Priceline Hotels in Cancun charge a resort fee?

    If so, what is usual?

I won the Dreams Cancun on hotwire last year. I didn't have to pay a resort fee. I'm not sure if the JW Marriott or Ritz charge that fee in Mexico, although I've been charged the fee for hotwire/priceline purchased on those hotels here in the states. I've found that even with the resort fees, I'm still saving a huge chunk of change by buying through priceline or hotwire.

    Good luck!

  4. Can anyone help identify this hotel:

  5. Opps, yes there IS a Suite option. I missed that!

Our airline has indicated that there is a good chance our flight will be cancelled if the hurricane continues to take its current path. If that happens, hotwire has agreed to refund my money, PLUS my insurance would kick in for my airline tickets and the hotel. So at this point it's a waiting game, but I would have less than 10 hours to book another flight and room so I want to have a contingency plan in place!

As always, thanks for your help. Love this board.

  6. Planned to go to Mexico but Hurricane Gustav may not allow us to do so. Can anyone help me with this Punta Cana resort that I'm trying to book last minute:

Tough situation with limited time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will use the appropriate HOTWIRE link to book, as always.

  7. Oops! So sorry! I copied and pasted the amenities from my former post (the one where I was seeking assistance in id'ing the resort) and I just copied too much. I've purchased-- $196 a night. Not only have I told EVERYONE about my sweet deal on hotwire (posted on all of the boards I frequent, including tripadvisor), I also raved about this site! Thanks again, I'll be back soon for help in planning my July 4th trip to Austin, tX!!

  8. Winner! Thanks to everyone from betterbidding.com for assisting me in determining that the resort was Dreams! I used the HOTWIRE link provided to secure this sweet deal. I can't wait!! Also, just an fyi. I've tracked the price of Dreams since I purchased, and it's gone both up and down. Tuesday was the cheapest--$196 a night. I'm sure it could go down, but I didn't want to wait and possibly miss an opportunity. Here's the info posted on Hotwire.

Perhaps the most helpful sign seems to be the tripadvisor ration: 4.5 out of 5, with 960+ customer reviews (most recent in January). I will use the link here to purchase assuming someone from the site can assist me, otherwise I will keep searching around to try and figure it out. Thanks in advance for the help!

  10. Hi everyone! Long time lurker here. I'm preparing to purchase through hotwire and have a few questions. I'm booking for September, so I have time. Too bad the deal I found yesterday is gone today. :) So here's my question--can anyone give me an example of some hotels that are located in City Center? I think I pegged Dreams Cancun as offering a good deal, but it says the hotel that I thought was Dreams is in "City Center" and I have no clue where in Cancun that is? The map is absolutely no help whatsoever. Can anyone help?
