Hey - I just got home from my trip to Berlin. I was staying in the "Intercontinental Berlin" ... and I loved it. The hotel is a true 5* hotel. Check-In was very easy and straight forward. I arrived at 9am in the morning, and it was no problem to get the room so early. I requested a toom with twin beds by phone a few days in advance. They had this stored in their system ... and I got it right away. When I entered the room, I noticed that they gave me a smoking room, which I did not like. The concierge who brought up the luggage called directly to the front desk ... and they immediately changed me to a non-smoking room. Excellent service. By the way ... the name "priceline.com" was never mentioned during the entire stay. The room was very beautiul. It had two beds (as requested), a big working desk and a nice sitting area with a large sofa. The bathroom was huge. Everything was very nice decorated, with free cofffe, bathrobes and slippers and a nice amenity kit. The hotel itself is a 10-minute walk away from the central train/subway station "Berlin Zoologischer Garten". In the morning I had breakfast. It's in buffet style ... and one of the best breakfast buffets I've ever seen. The price is high ... 26 Euros, which is almost 40 dollars. But it's definitely worth it. The wellness area is also very nice. With a very beautiful indoor swimming pool and hot tub. In the evening, they dim the light and put candles around the pool. They offer fresh fruit and newspapers for free. It's easy to stay there for 2 or 3 hours, reading newspapers and eating grapes. The sauna and the steambath cost an additional 15 Euros. The swimming pool and the hot tub are for free. To summarize: This hotel is excellent and definitely worth the money.
