  1. After trying every day since my last post I was able to get the Marriott at Fishermans Wharf for $190 a night. I actually made reservation for my Dad as well on different dates. So I won at that price for a 8/17 - 8/21/13 reservation and then again for 8/16 - 8/19.
  2. I'll take a look at the other zones. I'm okay with being within a couple of miles of the wharf as well. Tried the USW zone and then used 5 rebids. Bids were from 100-160 for the 4* hotel. Maybe a little low, what do you think? Thought I'd give it a shot since I haven't tried that zone before.
  3. Requesting any advice on bidding for the Fisherman's Wharf area from 8/17-8/21. I've tried all the way up to $180 and been rejected. I don't really want to spend that much, but do you think trying to get anything for less is possible. Looking at a minimum 3.5* hotel. I've used the links and I need to retry the rebid zones next. Here's the strategy I was going to try. First bid = Zone 3 (wharf) Second = Zone 3, 1 Third = Zone 3, 1, 5 Fourth = 3, 1, 5, 6 Fifth = 3, 1, 5, 6, 7 Sixth (last) = 3, 1, 5, 6, 7, 11 Would this be correct? Just need your opinion on initial bidding prices. Don't really want to pay more than $180 a night. Thanks!
  4. Another quick question. How hard is it to cancel one day off a reservation? I purchased the insurance and I was thinking about cancelling one of the days and staying two days down in San Diego but didn't know if this was possible. Has anyone tried this before?
  5. I wanted to add one more note about my second experience. My first bid yesterday was at $68 and Priceline came back saying if I raised my bid $17 more I'd get accepted. Well I ignored that and just raised it $2 and got accepted. So just an FYI to everyone don't be fooled by that. $70 might be a little high but when I was looking at $159 I considered it a great deal. I'm going during spring break so I didn't want to get stuck not having a hotel. Thanks again.
  6. Tried again today and won at $70 a night for 6 nights for a total of $514.53 at the: Sheraton Garden Grove-Anaheim Disneyland Area 12221 Harbor Boulevard Garden Grove, California 92840 714-703-8400 I don't see this in the Priceline hotel list for the site so maybe it's something new. I did see a Sheraton but it's a different address. I checked the hotel website and they have the rooms starting at $159 a night so I saved more than 50%. Thanks for the help, again. Just checked the website and the hotel was just built in July 2008 so it looks like it can be added to the Priceline hotel lists for this area.
  7. Tried again today ranging from $50-$60 still no luck on PRICELINE. Do you think I'll have better luck waiting until the dates get closer?
  8. These are the amenities listed for the Anaheim Disneyland South region for the 3.5* hotel that's being offered at $89. 3.5-star hotel in Anaheim - Disneyland South This hotel features the following amenities: Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply. Pool(s) Property offers at least one pool area; hours and dates of operation may be seasonal. High-speed Internet Access Guestrooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access; an extra charge may apply.
  9. I like the HOTWIRE idea, but I just checked and for that area for a 3.5* the hotels are $86 a night. Should I expect to pay around that price even with priceline too?
  10. Okay I tried a variety of combos using the 3.5* and rebid zones Anaheim Hills, Laguna Beach, Seal Beach and of course Disneyland which is the only one out of the four that has a 3.5* hotel. Went from $45 up to $55 for two rooms and didn't get accepted. I'll have to wait a couple days before trying again. I believe I tried about 10 different combos.
  11. One more thing the kids ages are 1, 5, and 9. I was hoping I could win a suite and I wouldn't have to worry about it. I guess we'll see.
  12. Do you know which zones I could use that would still keep me in the Disneyland area?
  13. One other question for those of you that have used PRICELINE in the past. Is the room generally big enough for a family of 5. I didn't have that problem the first time because our trip to Maui was just me and my girlfriend. This time it's the whole family. I want to make sure we're all able to fit. Again thanks for everyone's help in advance.
  14. I had a great experience here last time when I booked my trip to Maui so I wanted to try again. I'm looking for some help on a deal for the Orange County-Disneyland region from March 15th to March 21st for a 3.5* (Hilton, Hilton Suites). My first bid at $45 dollars did not get accepted on PRICELINE. I did not want to change the zones without everyone's help first. Thanks in advance.
  15. Thanks for the heads up. I got a little nervous and gave them a call. I'm in the Lahaina Kai Tower (newly renovated) in a garden view room. Thanks again.
  16. I just wanted to give a little update. I called the Royal Lahaina today to verify my reservation and make my requests. I found out that the room I got was the Garden View room in the tower which was a lot more than what I thought I got. I looked it up again and my savings for that room was a little over $700. I'm amazed at how much I saved and can't thank this site enough. I was bragging to everyone at work and telling them all about this site.
  17. Here we go again Ka Resort - $150, no add Kihei - $175, no Closed Wa Resort - $150, no Add Kihei - $175, no Add Ka - $190, no Ka 3* - $100, no add Kihei - $115, no Closed Kijei 3* - $120, no add Ka - $130, no add Wa - $135, accepted Got the Royal Lahaina for $135 a night. Beats the $224 a night Orbitz was asking. Saved almost $500 overall because of this site. Don't know how good the Royal Lahaina is but the reviews don't seem to bad. Everyone make sure you use the Savingsbarn.com link to access priceline so they get their credit. Thanks again for your help.
  18. This is what I did last night with no luck, Kaanapali Resort - $150 Kaanapali and Wailea Resort - $175 Kaanapali, Wailea, and Kihea Resort - $200 I don't want to go any higher than that so I closed the browser and started on the 3*. Kaanapali 3* - $100 Kaanapali and Wailea 3* - $110 Kaanapali, Wailea and Kihei 3* - $120 Again I had no luck with any of those bids. I don't know if I'm wasting my time thinking I can get a place at those prices or not, but I'll keep trying until I start running out of time.
  19. What price should I start at tonight? I made it all the way up to $210 last night, but don't really want to spend that much. Do you think I have much of a chance getting it any cheaper than that?
  20. What should I be doing? The day before yesterday I started my bidding at $125 and ended it at $165.
  21. Okay here's what I did last night: Selected Kaanapali Resort Bid $165, no luck added Wailea and bid $175, no luck added Kihei (which doesn't have a resort) and bid $185, no luck Closed Browser and reopened Selected Wailea resort Bid $190, no luck added Kaanapali and bid $200, no luck added Kihei and bid $210, no luck Closed browser and reopened Selected Kaanapali 3* and bid $85, no luck added Wailea and bid $100, no luck I know the 3.5* at HOTWIRE is going for $149 so I wanted to see if I could get lower than that. That's why when I bid on the 3* I bid so low. Ideally I'd like to get into a resort, but if that doesn't happen I'll be happy with a 3*. Thanks for the help so far.
  22. Just got all the way up to $210 for a resort in either Kaanapali or Wailea and didn't get accepted. Decided to go for a 3 star up to $100 in both places and still didn't get accepted. I'll keep everyone up to date with my offers. I'll have to wait until tomorrow night before I try again. Good thing I have a couple of months.
  23. I've already tried both the Wailea and Kaanapali zones at $165 with no luck. If I wait will that increase my chances? I don't mind waiting up until the end of February to book the hotel. After that I think I'd start to get a little nervous. Also how often can I try priceline. I've received errors that I've already tried certain scenarios. Does that reset itself daily?
  24. I wouldn't mind staying in the Wailea area if I can't find something in the Ka'anapali/Lahaina area. I almost purchased the Hotwire 3.5* today for $149, but I decided to wait and see if I can get into something better for around the same price. I just thought it might be possible with what the others have been able to get. I would like to not go above $175 after looking into my finances a little more today. Thanks for all of your help so far.
