  1. Again, posting on behalf of a friend. She made reference to her previous win posted here: Pittsburgh Renaissance As you know, we won a stay at the 4* Renaissance Hotel Pittsburgh for $70 ($87.52 with fees etc; $90.11 CDN on my credit bill), but when we tried to book a second night at the same hotel (our plans changed), they offered us the room at $142 only. We tried several times for a 4* up to 100$ a night, and were rejected. So included 3* and tried a first bid of $40.00. They suggested that we increase the bid by $12.00 to be accepted, so we did, and won! Therefore, our winning bid was $52.00 for 3* Doubletree (downtown): Your Offer Price: $52.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $52.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $14.73 Total Charges*:: $66.73 USD (I was charged CDN $67.87 on my credit bill) We loved both hotels and did not find there to be much difference between the quality levels. The Renaissance has a grander feel, with heritage architecture and high ceilings, but the Doubletree was very comfortable and had better customer conveniences (free use of a computer with internet; free warm cookies; great products in bathroom; great coffee/tea in room). The only drawback to the Doubletree was the parking situation -- I was informed through the 1-800 number that there was free parking at rear...not so -- only valet parking for upwards of 18$. We finally found a city parking a block away that was more reasonable.

  7. Hi all, This is my first time doing anything with Priceline. I had been bidding every day this week, working up from $45. I primarily wanted South Strip, to be close to Bellagio. I used North Strip and Las Vegas Airport as rebid zones. I also included the Convention Centre area, which is where I ultimately won. Today my bids were: $105 South, $110 South+North, $115 South+Airport, $110 South+Convention Centre. I had previously been offered a Convention Centre hotel for $123 when I bid $100. The room is selling for $169 on the hotel's website. I am not into casinos, more the Cirque shows, so I am pretty happy with my hotel. I know I will need the monorail to get to the shows. Check-In Date: Saturday, January 19, 2008 Check-Out Date: Sunday, January 20, 2008 Hotel Name: Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $110.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $19.47 Total Charges*: $129.47
