  1. Need help identifying this hotel. It only shows a complimentary breakfast. Has a 4.5 / 5.0 trip advisor rating. Any ideas?
  2. Figured it was the Sheraton. 80% customer approval. 3. Not what I expected. Bidding 4* in areas 13,11,2 and 10 for a couple of days with no luck. Dropped to 3.5* and bid 140 for Times Square then 135 adding the other three areas. Decent deal for a busy weekend. Grand Hyatt New York Midtown East 109 East 42Nd StreetPark Avenue And Grand Central Station, New York, NY 10017 212-883-1234
  4. Surprise win. I thought it would be the Westin. Just needed to extend a stay by a night and didn't want to pay the $241 the Radisson wanted for the night. Worth moving to save that much. Bid $ 51 first (as others have recently reported wins at) and was given an offer to win immediately for $ 61. Turned it down and won after two $ 1 increases. 5. This Hotel features the following amenities: Smoke Free Rooms Guest rooms at this hotel are always smoke-free. Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply. Pool(s) Property offers at least one pool area; hours and dates of operation may be seasonal. Restaurant(s) Property offers at least one restaurant on the premises; hours and days of operation may vary. Business Center Guests have access to business equipment and services; an additional charge may apply. High-Speed Internet Access Guestrooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access; an extra charge may apply. Also shows bed choice and 85% recommended by hotwire customers. Looks to me like the Sheraton (which I would like) or the Westin (which I would not) Any better guess? Thanks.
  6. Did you book? and was it the Best Western? I am looking for the 30 - 2nd for the same reason. Thanks.
  7. Needed a last minute room for a colleague. Probably bid too high as I started at $ 115 and won on the first bid. Non-opaque booking was at $ 219 so it was still a deal. Without many rebid zones I just wanted a room. Used the PRICELINE link.
  8. Actually looking for 10/23 - 10/27 but one of those times when it paid to split up the stay. I used Hotwire to get ideas on approximate prices and availability. For some reason the 26th and 27th are much more expensive. I went up to $ 125 / night on Priceline for those days with no luck. With time to go I will wait and keep trying. Happy with the win as it was $ 79 through Hotwire for the same property and over $ 200 on their site. Used the PRICELINE link
  9. I tried this last week and bid up to $ 105 with no success for a 4* and none was showing up on Hotwire (where there was a 3.5* for $ 136). This morning Hotwire had a 4* which I guessed was the Westin for $ 92. Bid on Priceline at $ 78 and won on the first bid. Next time I'll start lower :) Used the PRICELINE link. 10. Good last minute win in an area with limited hotel choice. Started with 3.5* over 2 areas at $ 70 then $ 75, no luck so added 2.5* and dropped to $ 60 won on the first bid. $ 119 online so half price. Used the PRICELINE link. 11. Same day win. Won on the first bid of $70. Always hate that but it looked like a good place to start based on HOTWIRE etc. Used the PRICELINE link. It is the 901 Dixon property
  12. Last minute win. Not a great deal but still a savings. Had a $ 5 bonus cash and actually bid $ 105. Had started at $85 and worked up in $ 5 increments winning on the last rebid opportunity. Unfortunately i was not able to use the link as I couldn't get it to recognize my bonus cash except from the Priceline email link. If there is a way to do so please let me know for next time.
  13. VERY disappointed in this win. To begin the hotel is available on non-opaque sites for $ 75 / night. Next reviews are almost all negative. I know you take chances with Priceline but in likely more than 150 wins this is the first time I have considered simply burning the night and staying somewhere else. Based on past expectations I treated the airport at 4* like a re-bid zone expecting to get a central area (and a better) hotel. My fault but learn from my mistake and do not make this mistake yourself. To be fair, I did call Priceline customer service (which made the whole experience worse) and they at least honored their price guarantee. It took over 25 minutes of explanation and multiple times being placed on hold while the CSR argued with me about the rate (I had print screened it at $ 75 she actually argued with me that she found it at $ 76) to finally get the promise of a credit (which will go back to my credit card within 14 days) making the hotel $ 25 less than I could have booked online but in order to do so took longer than it was worth to me. 14. Have been bidding on and off for a few months. I'm not sure what's going on in Venice then but the prices have been creeping up on regular booking sites so I finally decided to just book and be done with it. I have gone up to $ 250 for 5* with no success. Yesterday I bid $ 130 for 4* and was given the option of increasing to $ 150. Guessed it would likely be the Bellini. Today bid $ 140 and got it first bid. At $ 180 through regular online sites it is questionable whether it will be a good deal in the end but a savings is a savings. Hopefully the $ 40 doesn't relegate me to the worst room in the hotel as Priceline seems to often result in. For now it allows me to stop looking. 15. Tried central first at $ 80. I was using a rebid bidding both Central and Glattbrugg and got it at $ 78 on the first try. Unexpected to get a Courtyard bidding 4*. 16. Was hoping to stay in Toronto North but bid 4* to $ 90 with no success and 3.5* to $ 80. Added Toronto South and dropped bid to $ 75 with acceptance at the Hyatt Regency. Have won this 3 of my last 4 stays so they seem to be the big players in Toronto at the moment. 17. Sorry if my post was confusing, but this was won on Priceline. I merely made reference to the fact that it had been on Hotwire earlier. If you want the win to be recorded correctly it needs to be moved to the Priceline thread.
  18. I've been trying for a 5* in Central Rome for a few weeks going up to $ 220 with no success. This hotel was on hotwire for $ 69 when I started bidding. It then went to $ 73 and now to $ 74. I didn't want to gamble on it still being available in a few months so decided to pull the trigger and book. Not as exciting as being in the heart of things but hard to justify the extra $ 500 +, at least for me. $ 150 / night on Sheraton and hotel sites. 19. Occupancy is crazy in Toronto this week. Most I've ever had to pay but for last minute it was still a savings over booking direct. Had to use almost all the rebid zones after starting at $76
  20. I tried many combinations for this same day stay. Usually I win for $ 70 - 80 4*. There was a police funeral in town so occupancy was high. After several bids up to $ 76 I was countered with an offer to raise my bid to $ 96. I used rebid zones instead but got past $ 96 and still nothing. Lowered to 3.5* and got the Delta Chelsea. Construction across the street started at 5am so I would ask for an odd numbered room to avoid being woken up. Given the special circumstance all in all a good win. Used the PRICELINE link.
  21. Any ideas? Shows up for 1 person does not show up when 2 or more are in the search. I can't find a match. 3.5-star hotel in Rome Central This hotel features the following amenities: Complimentary Breakfast Laundry Facilities Recommended in 85% of customer reviews Thanks in advance.
  22. I didn't mention in the original post but I origianlly bid $ 70 and was given the counter for $ 90 immediately. Rejected it and as usual won near the halfway point between the original bid and the counter.
  23. Bid for a couple of days expecting to get the regular Sheraton Centre in this bid range. A bit of a surprise but a good win anyway. Used the PRICELINE link. Hyatt Regency Toronto 370 King Street West Toronto, ON M5V 1J9 Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $78.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $156.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $29.96 (USD) Total Room Cost: $185.96 (USD)
  24. Last minute booking. Tried up to $ 85 for 3.5* with no success. Failed at $ 70 for this yesterday and got it at $ 74 today for a same day stay. Used the PRICELINE link.
  25. It seems $80 - 85 is what is required right now. Great deal considering there are several conventions on at the moment. SPG site rate was $ 220 cdn. Used the PRICELINE link.
