  1. Looking to travel to the Florida Keys 3/29-4/5. 2 adults + 2 children and strongly prefer a suite of some variety to allow our toddler to go to bed early. Budget is $350/night....maybe with a little flexibility if the right opportunity came along. Searched Hotwire by Marathon, 3/29-4/5, 1 room, 2 adults, 2 children. See posting for Marathon all suites hotel, 3 stars, 100% recommended (32), complimentary free internet for $247/night. Very open to other options, but would appreciate some assistance!
  2. So tonight I noticed that the 4/5-4/11 option on Hotwire dropped to $106/night. So I went for it. Used the BB HOTWIRE link. Amenities: casino, fitness, pool, restaurant, business, golf, tennis, spa. I totally expected Wynn. Turns out...it's the Venetian without the Internet amenity. This is the third unique combination of amenities I've seen this week for the same hotel (or so it would appear). This just serves to remind me that even when I think I've figured things out, the unexpected can still happen. I'm still quite happy, as the Wynn and the Venetian were my first and second choice, and how can I beat $106/night for a week in Vegas?!?!? Thanks again to Better Bidding....another great vacation hotel for a spectacular price! =)
  3. Thanks for your feedback! I've finalized the dates of my trip...I'll arrive on 4/5 and leave on 4/11. A few more questions. When I search Hotwire for the full date range for 5* hotels, I come up with what appears to be the Wynn for $105-109 (it fluctuates a bit). Amenities are the standard for the Wynn: casino, fitness, pool, restaurant, business, golf, tennis, spa. Since I also have interest in the Venetian and have heard it turns up frequently on Sun-Thurs searches, I performed a search for 4/5-4/9 to add to the original stay about which I inquired to the board in this thread. Turned up what appears to be the Venetian for a fluctuating $93-95. Amenities are the usual for the Venetian: casino, fitness, pool, restaurant, business, internet, golf, tennis, spa. My question: if in fact my original post (4/9-4/11) is the Venetian, and the search for 4/5-4/9 is the Venetian, why doesn't the Venetian come up when I search for the whole week? Just trying to understand the inner workings of Hotwire. Again, I'll be happy to use the indicated HOTWIRE link. I plan to book either option within a day or two, as I'd be thrilled with either the Wynn or Venetian. Thanks again!
  4. Hello! Please assist in identifying 5* Las Vegas Central Strip hotel listed on Hotwire for $131/night for 2 nights checking in 4/9/9, checking out 4/11/9. Amenities (per the "See All Amenities" window): Casino Fitness Center Pool Restaurant Business Center Internet Spa I've recently seen the Venetian on HOTWIRE with a few more amenities listed than this, but did note that on the pinned hotel list that this combination has been noted in the past for the Venetian. However, before booking, I wanted to solicit input on other possibilities for this combination of amenities. I will be happy to use the BB link to start my purchase. =) Thanks in advance!
  5. Started at $80 and worked my way up using multiple re-bid zones. Finally had $92/night accepted, total charges $218.65. Regular price on Marriott website $259/night. A little nervous after reading TripAdvisor, but of course happy to try out someplace new. Used Better Bidding PRICELINE link! =)
  6. After recent success using Priceline to book a room in Waikiki, I would like to solicit input on PL bidding for my Maui hotel for my stay for 5 nights starting on 1/20/08. I would like a Resort in the Ka'anapali area. In regards to The Whaler, I can't find any documentation of Priceline wins via the calendar. Is it still a PL hotel? I realize there are no guarantees, but if the chances are only slim that I would end up there, I may consider this. I originally was considering a resort in the Wailea zone as well, but would prefer avoiding The Prince. Any suggestions on strategy or starting bids? Thanks in advance.
  7. Given recent success with PL on Waikiki, I am starting a new thread on the PL forum to explore that option first. Will follow up here if I end up resorting to HW. Thanks!
  8. Just wanted to report back....I decided to take my chances on Priceline for this stay since it appeared we wouldn't get into the Hale Koa....ended up with Hyatt Waikiki for $160/night. Bid took place on 11/20/07. First, I bid $150 for Resort in Waikiki North, denied, then added Waikiki Beach zone for $160 and was accepted. May not be the bargain basement deal of the century, but I'm very pleased! Current Hotwire rate was $196/night and hotel website lowest rate was $288/night. Also, had excellent correspondence with Hyatt since bid was accepted regarding room requests, arrival time, etc. So thank you! Please bounce this thread to the PL section if appropriate.
  9. Naturally, I would prefer not to spend $400 on a hotel room, but here is what I see are my options... A) Priceline - Hopefully pay a lower price, but risk ending up at The Whaler (Ka'anapali is area of interest 1), The Prince (Wailea is area of interest 2), or the Diamond Resort. Although nice places, we'd probably prefer avoiding those options. :) Hotwire - Pay a higher price, can 99% guarantee that I know what I'm getting. C) Another consideration has been to book a package on Expedia including airfare from Oahu, rental car, and hotel. With a free night and the package discount, there are some reasonable options....but I'm always looking for a better deal! So I guess I would be willing to take a smaller discount to ensure that we end up at a place that we really like. I am very open to your suggestions! Thanks again. Sure wish I had found this site six months ago!
  10. My apologies, I was thinking different dates and different islands warranted separate threads, but I just misunderstood. I'm sorry! Still learning the ropes.
  11. Thanks! We're near the top of the waiting list for the Hale Koa, so I'm debating about whether or not to book something else or take my chances there. I'm just trying to educate myself on other options, and the Hyatt might be a good consideration.
  12. Hi again! I also need to please request some assistance with some Maui hotels I'm finding on Hotwire. Dates 1/20/8-1/25/8. #1) 4.5* Ka'anapali $382 -Customer Favorite -Resort -Beachfront -Oceanfront -Fitness Center -Pool -Restaurant -Business Center -Laundry -Internet -Golf -Tennis -Spa -Children's Program #2) 4* Ka'anapali $359 -Resort -Beachfront -Fitness Center -Pool -Restaurant -Business Center -Laundry -Internet -Golf -Tennis -Spa -Children's Program One more question beyond the identification of these hotels...this late in the game, is this the best price I can expect to get via Hotwire? I don't want to be unrealistic, as a small discount is better than none! Thanks! P.S. Thereuare....sorry about your loss yesterday. I was pulling for the Wolverines!
  13. Hello! I'm new, please be patient... I want to explore a Waikiki hotel for 2 nights, 1/25/8 and 1/26/8. I found two of interest that are currently on Hotwire. #1) 4 Star Waikiki North - $169 Amenities: -Customer Favorite -Oceanfront -Pool -Business Center -Spa -Fitness -Restaurant -High Speed Internet Access My guess based upon reading the site is the Prince. Would you concur? #2) 4 Star Waikiki Beach - $196 -Resort -Oceanfront -Pool -Business Center -High Speed Internet Access -Spa -Near Beach -Fitness -Restaurant -Laundry -Golf -Children's Activity Program I don't even have a guess on this one. Help! Thanks much in advance!!!
