  1. Thanks for the reference to the FAQ, which I read. It says the hotel list is current, so I'll decline further action as I don't want to take a chance at getting one of the other three hotels you have listed for Aruba. I was hoping the list was not up to date, since a search of this site shows no instances of anyone ever winning the Aruba Radisson. Thanks again.
  2. Thanks - sounds like I would've gotten a good deal, but we chose not to go to NYC after all. Please consider this thread closed!
  3. We hope to go to Aruba for 7 nights, with a departure of Feb 8, 9, or 10 (prefer 10th), and return on Feb 15, 16, or 17 (prefer 17th). If we can find the right place for the right price during these date ranges, we're definitely going! I did not post a formal request here for bidding help because I'm first trying to get further clarity on this site's hotel list which may be outdated and/or inaccurate. If I can't, then I will probably decline to move forward. I didn't post any further on that NYC thread as our plans changed, and I didn't want to bump it up. I'll be happy to indicate this on that thread now. Thanks again.
  4. The BetterBidding Hotel List for Aruba shows these 7 hotels in the "Resort" classification: - Grand Resort - Hyatt Regency - Marriott Aruba Resort - Radisson Aruba Resort and Casino - Renaissance Aruba Beach Resort and Casino - Westin - Wyndham Aruba Resort However, when I search on Priceline.com for Aruba, I only find these 4 hotels in the Resorts category: - Westin Aruba - Aruba Marriott Resort & Casino - Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort - Renaissance Aruba Resort and Casino I would definitely consider submitting a Priceline bid for the week before Presidents Day if these four were the only possibilities, but I'm not interested in the other 3 shown on the BetterBidding list: Grand Resort (which I think is Occidental Grand Aruba), Radisson Aruba, and Wyndham Aruba. I did a search on this site and found one Priceline winning bid posted for the Aruba Grand, from July 2003, and one winning bid for Wyndham, from March 2004. Both of those came up on Hotwire searches also, but with 3.5 and 4 stars indicated (??). Nothing came up on a search for Aruba Radisson. What do you think are the odds that a Priceline "resort" bid for Aruba would only go to the 4 listed on the Priceline.com website for purchase? Thanks much for your help!!
  5. Dates not likely to change, but there is a slim chance we'll decide not to go. I suppose it's best that I bump the thread when I'm 100% sure I will bid.
  6. I see 6 hotels on the 4* list for Times Square, and all look acceptable. Considering 2-night stay with check-in Sat, 12/22 and check-out Mon, 12/24. Two of the hotels on the list have no rooms on 12/22. Of the 4 hotels available both nights, Millennium Broadway had best published rates , with $299/$259. Next was The Muse with $399/$289. Will consider bidding up to $175 (possibly higher, still debating), and would welcome suggestions!!
  7. I'm back - the last weekend in Sept 2008 is now available for reserving at Venetian and Wynn. The pre-tax rates for those nights (Thurs 9/25, Fri 9/26, Sat 9/27) are shown on their respective websites as follows: Venetian Thurs: $449 Fri: $449 Sat: $449 Wynn Thurs: $399 Fri: $329 Sat: $329 I assume that the first weekend in Oct 2008 (the dates I'm seeking) will become available in the next couple of weeks, and I have no reason to expect they'll be priced below these rates. If they end up resembling these rates, is there any reason to think that a PriceLine bid for $200 or less would be accepted? I guess there's nothing to lose, as long as I'm willing to stay at one of them for that price, right? :)
  8. Hi, and thanks for the reply! I'm looking at Thurs, 10/2/08 to Sun, 10/5/08, and we will probably want 4 rooms. We may not book for another month or so, but I try to plan as far ahead as possible to get a good rate, while preserving options to go elsewhere should a better deal come along. Note: for our fall '07 trip, we booked 9 months out and reserved Bellagio off their website for $199/night (for Thurs, Fri, & Sat), so we'd like to keep to an avg. of $200/night or less. But if we are able to get a room at Venetian via PriceLine for less than $200, we'd probably go for it. I think the group would consider Wynn - I'll ask around "just in case." Thanks again - I'm all ears!
  9. I'm eager to try PriceLine to book 3 nights in Oct. 2008 for me and 10 other guys, who make an annual fall trip to Vegas, but I'm hesitant as I've not used it before. I've read that the Venetian is currently the only 5* hotel offered in the PriceLine "Vegas Strip-North" zone, and this is a hotel where we'd definitely consider staying, IF we can get a good deal (i.e., $200 and under). However, I would not be happy if I submitted a bid for three rooms, and then learned that we instead were booked at another hotel, even if it was a good one like THEHotel at Mandalay Bay. I think this one was recently added to the 5* list, but I believe it's in the "Vegas Strip-South" zone, which should prevent it from coming up based on my selection criteria. Am I silly to be so cautious? Is there any way to get 99% certainty that my bid, if accepted, would only result in rooms at the Venetian? Also, is there any way to know whether it's just too far in advance to try PriceLine for a hotel? The Venetian website doesn't offer Oct. 2008 rooms yet, so does that mean that it's not possible for PriceLine to accept a bid for that hotel yet? Thanks much!!
