  1. This is best western. I just got it for the same listing for a night in September.
  2. The hotel says it has some limited onsite parking, so I am yet to see if I can park there for free; otherwise I need to pay for parking in some downtown garage.
  3. Sorry, just saw your reply. I don't remember it now... :(
  4. Started at $70, did not work. Priceline told me I could try again with $85, and it worked. Is January a busy season? I remember I used to only pay $60 per night for hotels in this area...
  5. Hi guys, I just realized that it is probably too late to book hotels for the thanksgiving weekend. I usually stayed at hotels in Secaucus, NJ, where they have easy access to bus 320 to NYC. Most of them are sold out, and the remaining ones exceed my budget. So could anyone recommend hotels in other areas that also have easy access to NJ transit buses to NYC, not necessarily bus 320, but other bus lines as well? Many thanks! ostrakon
  6. I just purchased a 3-star hotel on Hotwire. The amenities are free parking, complimentary breakfast, airport shuttle, internet, and business center. I first thought it was Coast Hotels and Resorts. However, Coast is listed as 3.5 stars on Travelocity, so I had no idea what it was. Turned out to be Best Western Executel, and I paid $59+fees/tax=$72. I am happy I didn't have to go thru Priceline to get this.
  7. I checked reviews, and found it is under construction now... The hotel is Courtyard Meadowlands Secaucus.
  8. Won first bid of $60, could have made it lower. Was hoping for holiday inn or hyatt place. Read reviews about this hotel being dated... finger crossed. Thanks to info from this forum.
  9. On my way from Binghamton to NYC, won first bid with $45 per night. Thanks to info from this forum.
  10. bid for cambridge region first, $45, rejected included coplay, $55, accepted location: good, metro 1 block away, close to downtown, chinatown, etc parking: expensive, $38 valet parking. we'll find cheaper parking along at one of the metro stations, e.g. Alewife on Red line, $7 a day, $8 overnight.
  11. An update to our stay there: 1. Friendly staff: he gave us two queen beds and a free breakfast buffet coupon 2. Decent hotel room: spacious, clean, and quiet 3. Convenient transportation: the hotel gift shop sells tickets for Bus 320. In 20 min (weekdays, 30 min on weekends), the bus comes in front of the hotel. In 20 min, the bus arrives at NYC port authority We are very satisfied with the stay at this hotel, which made our NYC trip easier.
  12. I tried bidding for 2.5* at both north bergen and jersey city and I even went to $102 for this 3-night stay. I finally decided to try the 3* ones from $113 at north bergen and it was accepted. I just called for two double beds but the clerk told me there's no garantee for that. :) I wouldn't hold my expectations high for this hotel from the reviews here. Just hope it is clean and safe and worth the penny. I have a question here: the clerk told me there's a bus one block away to NYC, which costs $3.5 one way. Is there other cheaper public transportation available near this hotel? Thanks :)
  13. 2.5* State College Courtyard by Marriott $45 ... 11/14/07-11/15/07 I bid $35, and $40, rejected. Then I bid $45. cool.
