  1. Sorry, I wasn't aware of the new Hot.wire setup, and by the time I tried the BiddingHelper.com tool (which is kind of nifty), the prices had changed. I ended up bidding on Price.line and got the Four Points by Sheraton for $74 after losing bids of $62, $67, and $71. The amenities listed in my confirmation email are free Internet (in room), free parking, pool, non-smoking, gym, restaurant, and business center. Thank you for your response. It helped, because I was "expecting" to get the Four Points from the Express Deals. And saved four bucks (woo HOO!) by bidding instead. Merry Christmas, and happy New Year! If you need me, I'll be on the sugar sands of FWB. :)
  2. I don't usually like to ask, but the Destin/FWB Hotwire listings are giving me fits this time. I'm trying to book a three-star for one night, December 26. Three pop up: 1. $80 Free Internet, Free parking, Business center, Fitness center, Pool(s),Restaurant(s), Self-service laundry (90% recommended) 2. $83 Free Internet, Free parking, Beachfront hotel, Business center, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Self-service laundry (55% recommended) 3. $82 Free Internet, Free parking, Business center, Fitness center, Indoor pool(s), Pool(s), Resort, Restaurant(s), Self-service laundry (100% recommended) Any help would be much appreciated.
  3. Should be a pretty nice hotel, and $52 for a Doubletree is more than reasonable. The listed amenities: Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Self-service laundry Internet access Spa services Accessibility Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Accessible parking
  4. This was a hotel that isn't on the hotel list for Priceline express. Two-star, amenities listed in my confirmation email (sorry, I didn't make note of the amenities when I bought it) were Free Parking, Pet Friendly, Outdoor Pool, Spa, Non-Smoking,Handicap Accessible.
  5. Yes, sorry for the confusion, I stole it. Arguably the finest hotel in the city, and that's Labor Day weekend.
  6. What can I say... this was robbery. :) (I used the PRICELINE link).
  7. I know Savannah's expensive, but I got the Hyatt for some friends a few months ago for $60. I do need something in the historic district that I can stumble back to. Thanks for the wish for luck; something will pop up. (It just HAS to.)
  8. Not one of my better showings, but I gave the links a workout today. Basically I wanted a 2.5 star or better in Savannah's historic district for the night of March 3. Here's the rejected bid history for the board's education: 3.5* Historic Savannah and Riverfront $49 3.5* Historic Savannah and Riverfront, Savannah Gateway $55 3.5* Historic Savannah and Riverfront, Savannah Gateway, Savannah North $59 3* Historic Savannah and Riverfront $55 3* Historic Savannah and Riverfront, Savannah Gateway $59 3* Historic Savannah and Riverfront, Savannah Gateway, Savannah North $64 2.5* Historic Savannah and Riverfront $50 Here's hoping Monday's auction goes better.
  9. Sorry, this was spur-of-the-moment, so I didn't use the page links, but I happened upon the Hilton Daytona Beach/Ocean Walk Village for $45 for February 24 (one night). Can't beat that with a stick, and I thought the board might find the report useful. And I wanted to brag. :) I was pretty deep into my rebids, so I didn't make note of my locations and star levels, but I'm pretty sure this is a 4* in either the Daytona Beach - Ormond Beach or Daytona Beach Shores - South Daytona Beach areas. Best guess would be Ormond, but it's only a guess.
  10. Sure enough. It also lists Laundry Facilities, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services, Kitchenette. It has gone up to $50.
  11. Need help identifying a 3.5* condo in the Seaworld/International Drive South area. It's listed at $47 for December 4 and has the following amenities: Condo Resort Studio Free parking Childrens' activity program Fitness center Pool 24-hour front desk (Laundry Facilities) (Tennis Nearby) (Spa Services) (Kitchenette) I'd appreciate any help, and I'll use the link from this site if/when I book. Thanks!
  12. French Quarter is correct, one block from the intersection of Bourbon and Canal.
  13. The Iberville Suites is now listed as a 4*, and I got it for $89 (HOTWIRE, non-VP) for July 18--20. The amenities listed remain unchanged. Suite, Restaurant, Complimentary Breakfast, Spa, Kitchenette, Hi-Speed Internet, Business
  14. Sorry, our price was only available from one source, and we had to book it through them. I'll remember this site for the next trip though.
  15. I got rejected for a 3* up to $60 on Priceline. I see that the Hotwire hotel (Bluebeards) has gone up a few dollars since I posted. We got a deal on the St. John Westin that we couldn't pass up, but I sure appreciate the help.
  16. As near as I can figure, the taxes, etc. run about 10 bucks per night? So probably $55--60 per night for a bid? I kind of doubt that anything near that will be accepted, but there are just too many "three star" hotels in the islands that have a missing/buzzing "O" in their "HOTEL" sign.
  17. Probably the most I'd be willing to pay for a 3-star anywhere on the island is 65-70/night, including any taxes, fees and service charges. It seems like a 3-star in the virgin islands can involve anything from Bluebeard's Tower to the Westin. And for some reason the Secret Harbor resort, which gets rave reviews, is often listed as a 2 1/2 star. We (Illinois) gave you that game last Saturday by the way. :)
  18. Thanks, I was afraid of that. I've never used priceline... Do you think I could do better there?
  19. Good evening all. I was hoping somebody could identify a St. Thomas 3* hotel on Hotwire for me. It's for Nov 24--28, 2007 and is $79.00. Amenities are fitness center, tennis nearby, restaurant, pool and laundry. Any help is appreciated. -K
