  1. I wish I could get the same deal. I'm up to $65 on a 3-star for Monday night, and nobody's biting.
  2. My bids up to $105 for two rooms in a 3* (or better) in Downtown North and Downtown South failed. I added Toronto West at the same bid price and got the Four Points, which is only a short drive from where I want to be. While it's expensive historically, this is a busy weekend in Toronto, so everything is pretty pricey. Still, this is a discount off the $121 rate shown in the regular Priceline listing, so all's well.
  3. That's not good news for me. I'm looking to stay in the downtown area as well for the June 30-July 3 weekend. I knew there was a lot going on in Toronto during that time, but I was still hoping to get a good deal on a decent hotel for my stay. I look forward to hearing what you end up with. Good luck!
  4. I guess I can't edit the original post. So, for 11/26-27, in Houston (Galleria), the following bids failed: 4* $46 4* $49 3* $39 3.5* 46 And I finally won with a 3* bid at $46 for Hotel Indigo. I figured the Intercontinental might only cost me $4 more on the bid, but then another $16 for parking. Hotel Indigo, as I understand it, has free parking (yep, I'm that cheap). So, I'd call it a win. I'm only staying one night, after all, and I'm sure the Indigo is great. Thanks, BB! I think I even remembered to use your affiliate links this time.
  5. I saw a previous member's win of $50 for the same day, same area. My competitive spirit won over, and I attempted bids of $46 and $49. Both were rejected. So I'll try tomorrow at $50 and hope for the best. I think I have stayed at the Intercontinental before for about the same price, and I would be happy with that (plus a charge for parking, of course). I will update my post if I win.
  6. $48 and $52 were rejected. My dad had bid $60 and was accepted right away, so I was trying to beat him on the price (knowing there aren't many 3* hotels in Denton). It originally suggested I up my $48 bid to $58, so after the second bid failed, I gave in and tried it. Accepted.
  7. I worked my way up in regular increments. I tried all combinations of zone, stars, price, etc. The only match I got was the 2-star Beachcomber Inn for $95/night. Saved about $100 over their online rate, but ended up in a subpar room (2 double, smoking) in a motel I'd be hard-pressed to call 2 stars. It sufficed for my short-notice, short weekend stay, though.
  8. I tried many combinations. The lowest I would go was 2 stars, and the most I tried to pay for it was $58. I searched only in Galveston (east and west). I got nothing. I'll try again tomorrow with a higher price, once it lets me.
  9. Was looking for 2 rooms near the 16th st mall in Downtown Denver. My offers that were rejected: 4* for $51 3* for $44 3.5* for $49 Two days later, I tried $49 for 3 stars, and succeeded. "Congratulations, we
  10. I didn't win 4* Galleria with $45, so I switched to 3.5 stars and bid $38. Won the DoubleTree guest suites. Happy customer. I forgot to use the BetterBidding PRICELINE link, but I'll make up for it by posting about the site on Facebook. Thanks!
  11. An update - on PRICELINE, a bid of $89 failed to get a 4-star hotel for this weekend (Sat-Mon). A bid of $81 for a 3.5 star hotel won. St. Anthony Hotel 3.5 Stars $81 San Antonio - Downtown/River Walk 9/5/09-9/7/09
  12. Thanks for the quick reply. Yeah the results have been really variable over the last 24 hours. Last night, a friend and I were simultaneously doing the same search with the same criteria, and we were getting different results. In any event, I'm not getting that offer anymore either. I thought it might be the Radisson as well, and that's a little far from where I'm trying to be, so I guess I'll keep trying Priceline. Looks like the Riverwalk hotels are filling up for Memorial Day weekend. Curiously, I just did the same search again on Hotwire, and now I am showing a new 3-star hotel in the Riverwalk South-La Villita area. The price is $89, and the amenities are Fitness, Pool, Laundry, Business, Restaurant, and Internet. Very interesting. Anyway, I'll keep working at it, and I'll report back if I end up with a win. Thanks again.
  13. I'm trying to book a hotel for 9/5-9/7 in the San Antonio - Riverwalk South - La Villita area. Hotwire lists a 3 star option for $68. Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Laundry Any ideas what that might match as? For anyone else looking, PRICELINE found no matches for my $70 4-star bid and my $62 3-star bid last night in the San Antonio Downtown-Riverwalk area.
  14. First bid at $85 was accepted. Stephen F Austin Intercontinental won. Guess I should have gone lower... Hotel retail price is at least $219, so I'm satisfied.
