  1. Continental Breakfast and shuttle to and from airport. Free Wi-Fi and I am set.
  2. PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for two nights. Was pretty sure this was the hotel based on what I saw here. Not to many 3 stars to choose from so went for it. Showed 99.00 on Expedia and I got it for 56.00. Not too shabby. Would have liked something a little nicer but am happy with this as it also includes breakfast. ;)
  3. Tried to bid Priceline or Hotwire the weekend of the 19th and everything was sold out except for 4*. I put in bids up to $137.00 and was turned down, gave up after checking Expedia and could only find $300.00 per night. Changed dates to the next weekend and tried a 3.5* at 126.00 and it wasn't accepted. Checked the sales on Priceline and went for the 120.00 buy it now and came up with this. Was getting a little frantic as this is our first visit to Pennsylvania. Will need to see Philly on our way out of town instead of arrival. Just wanted to be in the middle of things. Checked Expedia price and it was going for $206.00. SAVING $160.00 over the two nights. B) Very Happy!
  4. Been bidding for 2 weeks at same location from 100.00 to 110.00. Saw that I could purchase on Priceline for 229.00 so because this was getting down to the wire I bid 100.00 below the advertised price and got this for 129.00. Staying at a condo most of our stay but needed an extra night. Happy with the price as there are not too many hotels in this area. LOCATION..LOCATION...LOCATION! Love this option of seeing what things are going for. Keep up the good work! I did use this link on PRICELINE.
  5. Looking forward to having a few days of relaxation. Only Bid this once and got at this price. Was hoping for a Hilton but really have never stayed at a Hyatt. Happy with the price as with taxes and all stayed at just below 100.00,which was my goal. I did use the link on betterbidding for PRICELINE. Thank you!
  6. Update....I called the hotel like another person on the forum said to ask about getting two beds for one of the two rooms and they said it would be an upgrade. It was 10.00 extra and as I really didn't want to chance just one bed the 10.00 was worth it for my peace of mind. I still like the hotel but it did put the price up there a bit.
  7. We stayed at Intercontinental Stephen F Austin hotel last fall and it was lovely. Was hoping to get something down at the River but this will do. It is a very nice historic property and close to everything but not too close to 6th to be bothered by noise.
  8. Okay got my place in San Antonio Priceline hotel nailed down but I need a night in Austin on 8/10/10. Do you know of anything big happening on this date. This being a college town I do not want to wait if there is big happenings. 4* preferred or because it is just one night could be a 3.5* Want it close to the action or walking distance.
  9. Wanted something nice as I needed two rooms to accomodate Gma at 87 years old and my Son 21 years old who needed a safe place to wander. Was going on Expedia for 184.00 average a night. SAVED 80.00 x 4 = $320.00... Happy - Happy - Happy! :)
  10. Do you think if you wait till the 2weeks before you need hotel the price and quality of the place favor you and you end up with a nicer property than you would have? I ususally seem to get the Hilton when bidding online but I wait longer and usually start my bidding higher at around 99.00. I don't see too many of the really nice 4* being posted.
  11. HOTWIRE or PRICELINE? Am not familiar with the locations/ map on the Riverwalk one has downtown/Riverwalk and the other has Riverwalk North or South. If I want to make the best guess on a 4* hotel which link should I use? I am bringing gma 87 years old down to see the Alamo and Riverwalk. Will be doing the river tour and city tour as she cannot walk far. Hoping to get in the middle of the action as I am bringing 21 year old son too. Do not want Market Place! Gma is use to 4.5 star hotels. Looking to stay 8/11-8/14. Again HOTWIRE or PRICELINE will get me closest to my destination? Thanks for your help
  12. Never been to Austin before and this looks like a good place to stay to see all the clubs? We are here to have fun and maybe some sun?
  13. Was not feeling very adventurous today. Price was going as 139.00 and I did my only bid at 92.00 for a savings of $47.00. I had hoped this or a Hilton would come up. I am not sure there are Hilton's for bid at this location but we have won bids in other parts of the country. Marriott is always clean and dependable. :)
  14. :) Fitness - Pool - Restaurant - Business Center - Customer Favorite Just like was listed on the hotwire forum. I was able to research and found the hotels in Boston were all 300.00 and up for something nice. I though it was a little early to bid but decided that the listing on Hotwire must be the Hilton I was seeing at $439.00 a night on other sites. So I went ahead and just did it. It was perfect match and really not that much of a gamble. Thanks betterbidding.com (I did use the HOTWIRE link at the top of the page) :)
  15. :) Will be using HOTWIRE to make bids for our stay this fall. Splitting time between NY and Boston. We are taking our young adult son to a Yankees game. Already have tickets for that but this is the first time for him to see New York and we will be sleeping 3 to a room. I am not sure when high season is? As we only flop in a room around 7 hours a night I think we can stand to share but I also know two beds in NY can be hard to find. I am hoping for a 3*. Can someone give me some sort of parameters? I feel somewhat nervous at this point bidding on a non refundable room. Thanks!!!
  16. Thanks for the feedback. I love history and was not unhappy until I heard that their was a cleaning problem. From the pictures it sure seems to have class and ambiance.
  17. Travelers reviews are mixed on this hotel. I have stayed at many Hilton's and found them comfortable. I hope we don't have problems with noise or clean rooms as suggested by some reviews I have read on Trip Advisor. Oh well it is only two nights. I put a bid in of 100.00 a night and it was accepted.
  18. First bid of $135.00 rejected and it was suggested to raise bid $22.00. Went ahead and did that as the price I saw at Expedia came up at 219.00. Not a great discount but I am happy. At the Marriott you know what you are getting. San Diego here I come! :)
  19. The Sheraton is maybe 2 miles from Seattle Center 6 blocks for m Pike PLace Market and I got it on priceline in August for 130.00 and it is a 4* There also is a (?) at the Market which is awesome and I don't think it is a chain but gets great reviews. There is a Y about six blocks up with pool and workout. Also in the area is a Marriott.
  20. 4* Priceline Bid won for Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter 10/9/07 won bid of 135.00 a night for 10/17/07-10/19/07
