  1. Started bidding at $40, and added zones at $2 increments until winning at $46. Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch 315 Chestnut Street St. Louis, MO 314-655-1234 went through your PRICELINE link
  2. Started bidding at $75, and added zones without 4* properties in $5 dollar increments, and won at 90$. Hyatt Regency Chicago 151 East Wacker Drive Chicago, IL $180 for 2 nights $37.48 taxes and fees $217.48 total Went through your PRICELINE link.
  3. Sure, glad to add the list: Airport shuttle, restaurant, fitness center, business center, pool, high-speed internet access On the first few days the post also showed 90% recommended by Hotwire customers. That post has been deleted for a couple of days as well.
  4. Just appreared on Friday, 1/20, was still available on Monday 1/23 when I booked it. Went through your HOTWIRE link. Be aware, parking is $10 a night extra, and business center and wi-fi have a fee (knew both of these prior to booking).
  5. Started bidding a few days ago at $56, rejected and added Fenway Park (no 3 *s) and a dollar more, did this a few times, and today was accepted at $65 Courtyard by Marriott Boston Downtown/Tremont 275 Tremont Street Boston, MA 02116 Went through your PRICELINE link.
  6. I've been slowly bidding up on a 3.5* Reading hotel both using other areas without 3.5* hotels, and bidding every other day. Last unsuccessful bid two days ago was $53, and today's $55 accepted on first shot. I couldn't have left much money on the table it appears. The hotel: The Abraham Lincoln - a Wyndham Historic Hotel 100 North Fifth Street Reading, PA 19601 610-372-3700 Lowest non-refundable price on Wyndham website was $98.10 (plus taxes). Went through your PRICELINE link.
  7. Looking for 3 1/2* at the airport or Universal I-drive North. I bid $37 at MCO only, and was rejected with the option to add a bid of at least ten dollars more immediately for an extra bid. I ignored that and added Universal area and increased one dollar to $38 and was accepted at: Marriott orlando Airport 7499 Augusta National Drive Orlando, FL 32822 407-851-9000 Lowest price on Marriott website was $140. Went through your PRICELINE link.
  8. Bid $45 Richmond (West End) and received the warning that the bid had almost no chance of succeeding. I bid anyway and was accepted on the first shot. Sheraton Richmond West Hotel 6624 W Broad St at I-64 Richmond, VA 23230 804-265-2000 Starwood website has the property at $99 non-refundable rate. Went through your PRICELINE link.
  9. Months ago I booked 10-03-09 to 10-04-09 through Priceline at $45, and decided to extend the stay one day earlier as well. I bid $45 again today and was accepted on the first try for 10-02-09 to 10-03-09. Stamford Marriott Hotel and Spa 243 Tresser Blvd Stamford, CT 06901 203-357-9555 went through your PRICELINE link
  10. Bid $45 and was rejected, but received an offer for a free rebid if I raised the price by $13 (which I ignored). I went up $2 to $47 and added Arundel Mills zone (which also was an acceptable location for me), and still ended up at BWI which was great. There are several areas without 3* properties so step bidding is easy in Baltimore as well. Courtyard by Marriott BWI Airport 1671 W Nursey Rd Linthicum, MD 21090 Went through your PRICELINE link.
  11. I bid $45 and was accepted first try. One can step bid for 3 1/2* because the other Stamford area doesn't (at the moment at least) have any 3 1/2* property. I think the same property is on Hotwire for $59, and the Marriott website runs about $105 - $109. I went through your PRICELINE link.
  12. 3* Baltimore (BWI) 5/6 - 5/7, $52 shows - suite, airport transportation, breakfast, fitness center, pool, business center, washer, internet Homewood Suites by Hilton Baltimore/Arundel Mills 7491-B New Ridge Road Hanover, MD 21076 410-691-0287 Hilton website shows $189 Went through Betterbidding HOTWIRE link
  13. Well I took your advice and decided not to chance a bad stay, and it worked out perfectly. I went through PRICELINE (through your link) and bid $28 on an airport 2 1/2* hotel. I was rejected, but was offered a free rebid if I'd raise it $7 to $35. I ignored that and added Sand Lake (which doesn't have any 2 1/2*) at $29 and was rejected, and then added Winter Park (again no 2 1/2*) at $30 and was accepted (apparently the absolute minimum possible). The hotel was the exact hotel I was looking for as I've stayed there before (though through HOTWIRE which tends to have this property in the $35 - $40 range): Amerisuites Orlando Airport West (which soon is to become a Hyatt Place) 5435 Forbes Place Orlando, Florida I don't know how to move this info to PRICELINE (or how to change the subject title) as it has more relevance there, but I had started this through this Hotwire inquiry and wanted to let you know the outcome. Thanks.
  14. Can you help identify the 2* hotel Orlando Kissimmee, 3/28 - 3/30, $19, shows icons for pool, laundry, golf nearby, 10.8 miles from airport, and 2 1/2 trip advisor. Thanks.
  15. Sorry about that; yes there was a fitness icon also. But, more info - I decided to just take a shot and booked it (through your HOTWIRE link). It is the Amerisuites Orlando Airport Northwest, 5435 Forbes Place, $31, 3 nights, 1/16 - 1/19, which is a holiday weekend so I thought an OK deal. By the way, when I went back to check about the fitness center (after I had booked it already), I see the price went up to $33.
  16. the three star disappeared - last try before I have to do something - any guidance on the 2 1/2* airport, same dates, suites, shuttle, breakfast, pool, laundry, internet? Thanks it's $31
  17. While still very interested in knowing the original property, a new one has been added that is interesting. Any help on identifying the 3* Disney Main Gate - Celebration property showing Smoke free, pools, restaurant - same dates. Thanks
  18. Can you help Id 2 1/2* Orlando Universal I-drive North 1/16 - 1/19/09, $36, Fitness, Pool, Laundry, High Speed Internet, Kitchenette Thanks.
  19. Priceline - Myrtle Beach, 11/20 - 11/22, 2 1/2 * winning bid $26. I bid the Myrtle Beach area only at $24 and was denied, added an area with no 2 1/2 * places at $26 and got: Sandcastle Oceanfront Resort South Beach 2207 South Ocean Blvd Myrtle Beach, SC
  20. Sirs: While it's an interesting business model to try a "you catch more flies with vinegar than you do with honey" approach to customer service (not to mention an interesting take on the spelling of the month between January and March), it's a free country, so continued good luck. But, after you have lectured your potential clients, do you actually ever answer the inquiry as to what hotel is the likely candidate, or have your stern admonishments ended the need to address the opening issue? Thanks.
  21. Sirs: While I have only vague recollections of the Tampa trip, I do recall not using Hotwire or Priceline when the smoke cleared and used hotel program points. Now how about some thoughts on the Hotwire question for Myrtle Beach and I'll do it (if I end up going the Hotwire route) through your link which is sort of my part of how the deal is supposed to work. You seem to be a bit like the e-mail police today rather than a cooperative venture in this instance; is your goal to alienate participants? Thank you.
  22. Sirs: Would you be able to identify a hotwire 3* hotel in Myrtle Beach North, 11/20 - 11/22, showing $39, with ocean front, fitness center, pool, restaurant, laundry, golf nearby, and children's area? Thank you.
  23. Never mind - I booked without any (useful) answer from this site, and the place is Hyatt Place Orlando/Universal, so all in all, it seems a pretty good deal for a nice place.
  24. I did go to Tampa last January (I think it was in January more or less, may have been February), but didn't get a hotel through Hotwire. I booked through Choice hotels using points, though the place was a dump and I regretted the decision. Also, I'm fairly new to this (meaning very rarely used this site, though I tavel a lot) and don't know what bump the thread means. Also, if I had used Hotwire for Tampa and didn't send in information, does that mean I would be cut off from other information which your reply (which seems a touch unpleasant) implies? It's as if you hadn't considered that maybe someone would use a regular reservation system instead of Hotwire or Priceline.
  25. Sirs: Any idea who the hotel might be on Hotwire for Orlando Universal I-drive North Area, 5/2 - 5/5, $43, 3***, 9.2 miles from MCO, complimentary breakfast, Pool, Fitness Center, and HIgh Speed Internet. Thank you.
