  1. Before taking into account of currency conversion losses (I used my Canadian credit card), I still should be making more than US$100 plus the free night. This rate is no longer available for that date though.
  2. Another new hotel for your list. I actually booked this just to take advantage of the double the difference guranteed when I saw the sky high rate offered by Hotwire and I knew that this is the Delta Vancouver Airport. I made some good money at the end. 3.5* Richmond-Vancouver Airport Zone Delta Vancouver Airport 3500 Cessna Drive Richmond, BC V7B 1C7 Canada Amenities: Airport Shuttle Restaurant Pool Fitness Center Business Center
  3. Bid resort $75 rejected with counteroff to add $22. Add 4* and bid $77. It was accepted and upgraded to a resort. Bid this for a friend.
  4. This finally completes all the bidding I need for the summer. Relax!!!!!!!
  5. Tried bidding this for over a month and finally success. Bid $65 and counteroffered to add $17. Rejected at $72 Accepted at $75. This is quite the deal considering the going rate for the Hyatt now to be Cdn $349. So it's a 70% off savings.
  6. $54 rejected ... $55 accepted. Great deal for the summer!
  7. New hotel for your list. $84 rejected, $85 accepted. Needed a 5* hotel in Siam Square area, so had to bid higher. I just decided that I want to finalize the hotel today. Intercontinental Bangkok 973 Ploenchit Road Patumwan Bangkok, Thailand Your Offer Price: $85.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $85.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $21.99 Total Charges: $106.99 Taxes are quite high in Bangkok, at 17%. Still a substantial savings vs. Intercontinental's web rate of $140 a night.
  8. My pleasure again to add another hotel to your hotel list. My friend's parents need a hotel room in Hamilton next Saturday. However, everything is fully booked in Hamilton. I then suggested Burlington and bid 3* at $28. Came back with counteroffer of add $7. Using rebid zones, add a dollar at a time. $30 rejected, $31 success! Holiday Inn Burlington Ontario 3063 South Service Rd Burlington, Ontario L7N 3E9 905-639-4443 Your Offer Price: $31.00 (US dollars) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $31.00 (US dollars) Taxes and Service Fees: $8.91 (US dollars) Total Charges: $39.91 (US dollars)
  9. For 2*, it could be the other Choice hotels, Best Western, Ramada, etc in downtown Toronto.
  10. 2.5* for Toronto Downtown zone is new and is only there for less than a week. No one has yet to report anything. I'm guessing it could be the Comfort Suites in downtown, and there're a few other possible candidates.
  11. Hyatt Regency Montreal 1255 Jeanne Mance Street Montreal, Quebec H5B 1E5 Your Offer Price: $42.00 (US dollars) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $42.00 (US dollars) Taxes and Service Fees: $10.06 (US dollars) Total Charges: $52.06 (US dollars) Tried 3 days earlier and got rejected at $41. 2* rejected up to $27. With Priceline, I can do all these affordable luxury weekend getaway trips!! Awesome!!
  12. My friend needed a cheap hotel room in downtown Vancouver for Aug 22-26. So far I can only get her the Sunday night, August 22nd. I bidded $42 and then $45 for the Sunday night (Aug22nd) after seeing the Crowne Plaza's availability in the high $50's on Hotwire. Crowne Plaza Hotel Georgia 801 West Georgia Street Vancouver, British Columbia V6C 1P7 604-682-5566 Your Offer Price: $45.00 (US dollars) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $45.00 (US dollars) Taxes and Service Fees: $11.12 (US dollars) Total Charges: $56.12 (US dollars) $45 is rejected for the other nights. I'll continue to work on the other 3 nights. My friend already has a backup at a hostel for C$62.
  13. Bidded for my brother's girlfriend. She wanted the cheapest possible room at Vancouver airport. Bidded a few days ago: 2.5/2/1* rejected up to $33 Bidded yesterday: 3* bid of $35 and got countered + $9 Added the rebid zones and bidded up to $40 and kept getting counteroffers of either +$11 or $12 Accepted at $41 for the night. Park Plaza Vancouver Int'l Airport 10251 St. Edwards Drive Richmond, British Columbia V6X 2M9 Your Offer Price: $41.00 (US dollars) Subtotal: $41.00 (US dollars) Taxes & Service Fees: $10.63 (US dollars) Total Charges: $51.63 (US dollars) Quite a bit more than what she was expecting to pay, but that's the cheapest room I can find her. You need to add this to your list too.
  14. I think this rate is clearly a mistake. Tried a random December date and got $31 for a room. So I decided might as well book a cheap room to go up skiing for a day in December. Going rate for the room: Cad$375/night = US$280. So I got a 90% off discount!! Sweet.
  15. Again, it is my pleasure to add yet another hotel to your list. Summit Lodge and Spa 4359 Main Street Whistler, BC V0N 1B4 Canada http://www.summitlodge.com/ Price $32/per night plus service fee/tax of $17.95. Total $81.95 Hotel Details 3.5* Whistler Main Village Zone Boutique Hotel Restaurant Pool Fitness Center Kitchenette Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Service I did buy through savingsbarn.com to support you guys this time. 16. Just completed a bunch of bids for my friend and all got rejected. 17. The good deal continues. With taxes come to $27.77. I'm glad to see your Canadian hotel list continue to grow. A few things to note on your Canadian hotel list: Montreal 3*: the Wyndham is now the Montreal Hyatt (Wyndham sold the hotel to Hyatt last Dec). St. Catharines - Niagara (Niagara Falls) 2.5*: Four Points Sheraton doesn't exist, I think you meant the St Catherines one which is already on the list. Toronto downtown 4* Intercontinental (you should specify that this is the Intercontinental on Bloor as described by the hotel review, there's another Intercontinental hotel on Front Street) Toronto Mississauga 2.5*: someone recently reported the Courtyard Mississauga and it's not on the list yet. Hope this helps.
  18. Bid for my friend this upcoming weekend. He has a backup at the Hilton for $125/night. Tried to bid $66 and rejected. Add St Catherines and bid $73 and accepted. Sheraton on the Falls 5875 Falls Avenue Niagara Falls, Ontario L2G 3K7 905-374-4445 Subtotal: $73.00 (US dollars) Taxes & Service Fees: $11.36 (US dollars) Total Charges: $84.36 (US dollars) Another new hotel to add to your list. Lowest available rate at the Sheraton is (US $95/C$129). Only a small savings, but he's happy since even Comfort Inn/Best Westerns all want around C$100.
  19. thereuare, I actually would have to disagree with your recommendation. Priceline wouldn't accept 5* bid under $55. The current minimums are: 1* $15 2* $17 2.5* $19 3* $25 Boutique (3.5*) $50 4* $40 Resort (4.5*) $40 5* $55 These are obtained from looking at priceline's html code. The numbers on the faq on the TOBB is actually inaccurate too. I'd start by bidding $55 Riverside. If rejected, start a new bid for $60 Sukumvit only. If rejected, add Riverside and bid $60. If rejected, start a new bid for $65 Siam Square only. If rejected, add Riverside and Sukhumvit and bid $65. I personally think that probably won't be high enough .. and you'll probably need to wait 72 hours and bid $70 and higher.
  20. $45 will probably get you a 2.5* Residence Inn Whistler or Coast Whistler Hotel. According to the vacation packages, 3* is the Summit Lodge, which will probably be more.
  21. Bidded for a week incrementing dollar by dollar for 1/2* Airport. Stayed here early February for $26 for a night. Toronto Airport (YYZ) 1500 Matheson Blvd At Dixie Mississauga, Ontario L4W 3Z4 905-624-6900 Subtotal: $26.00 (US dollars) Taxes & Service Fees: $8.41 (US dollars) Total Charges: $34.41 (US dollars)
  22. What a deal!! I was just going to thrash at the airport for the night, but then decide to use Priceline again after seeing Diana's post. Bid 2* airport $19 rejected. Bid 1* airport $20 and got upgraded to 2*. Your Offer Price: $20.00 (US dollars) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $20.00 (US dollars) Taxes and Service Fees: $7.77 (US dollars) Total Charges: $27.77 (US dollars) The last time I bid the same zone earlier this year, I got the 2* Comfort Inn Airport West for $26 (hotel not on your list). So I saved even more this time.
  23. I was there last year and from my memory, Niagara on the Lakes is about a 20 min drive from the Niagara Fall hotels. So you should be ok to bid the Niagara Falls hotels then.
  24. The $35 rate for Niagara Hotels are only available during low season, mainly October to end of May when hotel rates for most 3/4* hotels are in the neighborhood of Cad $100. In the summer, hotels are extremely busy, especially in the weekends. Hence they charge a fortune and this is how they make money in order to cover for the low season months. Having said that, you won't likely be succesful in getting $35 room in August and will probably take around US$100-120 bid per night. Hence, no need to bid for the additional night. BTW, did you bid 3* or 4*? You could consider going down to 2.5* in St Catherines and also the Niagara Falls region to get better deals.
  25. Forgot to add that: 2.5* reject up to $45 for Niagara Falls and St Catherines.
