  1. FIRST, I did use the links from your web site! SECOND, I asked 2 questions which I don't believe you tried to answer. I understand that a new hotel could pop up at any time BUT based upon your recent experience, 1. For Priceline, if there are only the 4* hotels that are NOW on the pinned list, do you think I will get the Westin Beach or W (not the Il Lugano or Hyatt Pier 66)? 2. For Hotwire, what is the hotel with the amenities that I listed? I am sorry if I was not clear with my posts. Thank you in advance for your assistance!
  2. I would like to use Priceline to find a beach area hotel in Fort Lauderdale for April 1 to April 4. However, when I look at the "Pinned" list, I see 4 hotels and they include the Hyatt Pier 66. I do not see this hotel listed in any of the recent wins. I see the Westin Beach Resort and Starwood W. I would love to get these hotels. Do you have any advice? Help, please! Thank you.
  3. I repeated the search today and the results are a little different. The search was as follows: Selected: Fort Lauderdale April 1 to April 4 Limited to 4-star The results included a HOTWIRE hot SPECIAL RATE property with the following amenities: RESORT NEAR BEACH NON-SMOKING FITNESS CENTER POOL RESTAURANT BUSINESS CENTER LAUNDRY What hotel is it?
  4. Congratulations! I would like to bid for April 1-4 but am afraid that I would get the Hyatt Pier 66. I would really love to get the hotel you got or the new W. Were you concerned about the hotel selection? Thank you for your help!
  5. Hi! Please help me identify the following HOTWIRE 4* hotel in the Fort Lauderdale Beach Area - it has these amenities: - Fitness Center - Pool - Restaurants - Business Center8 - Laundry Facilities - High Speed Internet When I looked at details, under CUSTOMER REVIEWS, it said that the hotels was recommended 95% of the time in over 50 reviews. It had a 4.5 overall satisfaction rate. It does not seem to match up with any of the other 4* hotels. I would love to stay at the new Westin Beach or W! Thank you for your help!!!
  6. I am still looking for a night. Checking Hotwire for Hollywood, there is a 4.5 star hotel for $149 which I think is the Diplomat Country Club and a 4 star resort for $122 which could be the Diplomat or Crowne Plaza. I am afraid it is latter because they turned down my bid for more. Do you agree? I can get the Crowne Plaza at their web site though for $105 (no cancellations). Does the Marriott ever appear?
  7. I used the PRICELINE link in the upper right hand corner of the home page of www.betterbidding.com for Priceline today. I bid $135 for a Resort in Hollywood Florida for 11/10/2008 and it was accepted! I got the hotel I wanted which was the Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa. I could not extend it by one day when I was offered an opportunity to apply. Thank you.
  8. My goal is to reserve a resort hotel for November 10-12 in Hollywood Florida. First, using the PRICELINE link from this site, I checked the prices in HOTWIRE. A price of $149 for a 4.5 star property with the exact same features as listed on the BETTER BIDDING list for the Westin Diplomat Country Club and Spa. I then used the theory that one should always get a cheaper price through Priceline and used the PRICELINE link to bid on a Hollywood Resort. I started at $130 and using "free bids" I continued in $5 increments up to $150. All were rejected. What was wrong with my logic? Was it really the Westin Diplomat Country Club? Do you think that PRICELINE sometimes is more expensive than HOTWIRE? Should I take the Hotwire $149 offer for a 4.5 star property? Could it be another hotel? Thank you for your help!
  9. Thank you! I have been trying to get the Hyatt Coconut Point in Bonita Springs, too, but have not been able to get them to respond to my PRICELINE bids (up to $125). Has anyone had any luck with this resort recently? Last year, I was able to get it for $80!!!
  10. Bid $155 for 2 nights, April 8-9, 2008 for Resort in Hollywood. Bid was accepted first time! I am very happy because I stayed here before and loved it!
  11. Using the Savings Barn link to PRICELINE, I bid $116 for one night, January 13, for a resort in San Juan. I saw that another Better Bidding member got the Caribe Hilton earlier today for $115 for early February and hoped to get the same. I did! Thank you Better Bidding!
  12. We gave up trying to book a hotel in the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood area and went to Bonita Springs instead based upon some of the BetterBidding posts which pointed us at a fantastic rate at the Hyatt there.
  13. We did as you suggested and booked Embassy Suites directly. As we were attending a wedding, the bride and groom had a "special" rate that was less than any on the Hilton web site. I was hoping to find a cheaper rate thru Hotwire. However, to clarify my original post, I fully understand that Hotwire will not specifically show me the name of the hotel - but could possibly show me features/amenities that clearly will identify it as a certain hotel. Thank you for your assistance.
  14. I would like help identifying a 3.5* hotel in San Juan Puerto Rico. It only has 3 amenities: POOL BUSINESS CENTER RESTAURANT My current price is $129 We have a layover January 13 and will be in San Juan only 12 hours. Thank you.
  15. Need room for wedding at Embassy Suites outside of Charlotte in Concord near Kanopolis. It's not on the list. Does this hotel ever show up on Priceline or Hotwire? Can you help me find it, please?
  16. I had previously been successful bidding on a 4* Resort in Bonita Springs with an $80 bid for 10/25-10/28 and a $71 bid for 10/29. I had to go all the way up to $85 for 10/29. These are all really great prices considering that the price on the Hyatt web site right now is at least $169 and during the peak season $400! I could have never done it without help from BetterBidding! Thank you.
  17. I saw on this forum that someone got the Bonita Springs Hyatt for $70 for earlier in October so I bid $71 on Priceline. My bid was accepted the 1st time. Thank you for the help!
  18. I have bid $120 on Priceline for a resort. Bid was rejected. Here are the amenities for the 4* property on Priceline in Hollywood: Resort Near Beach Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby I thought I might have solved the puzzle - do you have think it is the Diplomat Country Club and Spa because it is near beach? However, wouldn't golf be there not nearby? Thank you.
  19. This was my first time using Priceline. After looking at some of the other posts on this site, I got the courage to bid - thank you for all your help! I started out with a bid of $80 for a RESORT in Bonita Springs for October 25 and 26 and my bid was accepted! I was offered a chance to bid the same for 2 more nights and it was also accepted. This price is less than half of what is listed now on the Hyatt site. I am thrilled! Again, thank you.
  20. I am trying to get a hotel room in Hollywood, FL for 10/24. I am having a hard time. Please help me. There is a 4* hotel available on Hotwire for $129. Can you help me identify the hotel? There is a 4 1/2* hotel available for $165. What is it? Thank you.
