  1. I would not say I have a budget, but am not looking to spend a fortune. My plan if I cant find anything better is to stay at the embassy suites on jamaica court as that is where my company is putting me up sunday through thursday night. I can stay there for ~180 a night the nights leading up to my work event so probably something in that range. What I don't know is how safe it would be leave all the luggage in a rental van in the disney parking lot on a sunday if we go to the park in the morning before I could check into my next hotel. This probably isnt the forum for that question though.
  2. Shoot. Didn't even think about it. Does PRICELINE allow you to book for 5 for Disney? Unfortunately retails prices for Disney aren't realistic for my budget.
  3. I havent been to disney in 20+ years and don't really know what I do/don't value. 2 adults / 3 kids (5/5/3). Looking for the best value for my money.
  4. Staying for a few days before a work trip and will be taking the kids to Disney. I had no intention of staying at a Disney resort until a hotwire search states it would be 1 of 4 hotels, 3 of which were disney. Based on info from this site I am 100% confident it would be the "Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek". That is not a bad option for 90 a night, but I am wondering if there are better options, and what price I should be expecting to pay to stay at a disney report for those 3 nights? Any advice is appreciated on what deals may be available or what I can expect to find. I will certainly remember to book via the links provided on this site!
  5. Just booked the warwick using the HOTWIRE link from better bidding. The rate was 77+tax/fees = 95.57. The amenities listed were: Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access
  6. Room rate per night was $89 Date of stay was for 10/17 and 10/18. On a side note, we just got back and we were happy wth the stay for the money, but calling that hotel a 4* is a stretch. I would have been very happy if that was a 3 1/2 *, but probably the worst 4* Ive stayed in. Good location for going to chinatown and second city, but it felt like an older hotel was bought out, had the rooms spruced up.. but the infrastructure sucked. 2 of the 4 elevators were non operational and probably the slowest elevator Ive ever been in in the US.
  7. We used the HOTWIRE link provided, and got the following: 208 including taxes for 2 nights at the Hyatt Regency Toronto Hotwire amenities listed were : Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access This was listed as a 4* in downtown toronto west. Best rate available on their website was 209/night so better than half price. Thanks again better bidding!
  8. The hotwire is now 149, and the ONLY amenity is a restaurant. Not a horrible rate for a hotel that normally goes for like 200/night.. My standards arent that high, but if Im spending a bunch of money, Id want it to be worth it... Really best value for my money is what Im looking for..
  9. I thought this one implied that, but based on your last comments, they make sense under that context. I read his post to mean he did these things right in order, but I now see he must have waited a day between steps. London (Mayfair-Soho) Grosvenor House I have been unable to find anything that seems much better than 180 for the 5* through Hotwire. Does anyone with experience staying London have advice on whether it is worth it to go for the 5*, or if I should lower expectations and go with a 3-4*? Any advice or suggestions are appreciated! Will
  10. Guys - Hotwire has a 5* in mayfair soho for 154 + 30.11 = 185.11 - from what Ive read this should end up being the Park Lane or Dorchester. Either isnt a horrible price. However - in attempting to use PRICELINE (yes, I used the link from betterbidding!) , I am confused. I bid 125 for a 5* in mayfair, expecting to be denied, but wanting to rebid at 135. My only option was to add a rebid zone; shouldnt I have had an opportunity to rebid 135 before having to add an additional zone? I'd like to get a 5* for closer to 150 than 180, but is this hoping for too much?
  11. Booked a room using hotwire for March 7th. This la quinta has an awesome breakfast, but at night feels like the place youll get mugged at. paid 53 (66.70 w/ tax) La Quinta Inn Austin I-35 South/Ben White See details 4200 I-35 South Austin, Texas 78745 South Austin - Airport Area Hotel This Hotel features the following amenities: Complimentary Breakfast <amenity names only please... not descriptions> Pool(s) Property offers at least one pool area; hours and dates of operation may be seasonal. 13. We ended up booking through HOTWIRE for a 3* for 78 bucks. We ended up getting the chattanooga choo choo. While reviews werent great we found it to be a nice location.
  14. we were actually down there in january for the bowl game. We were really hoping to be right in the quarter.. Would doing so push our price point way up?
  15. Hello - Love this site. 4 of us are going to NOLA for a weekend and would like to stay as close to bourbon street as we can, with a 3 or 4 star hotel. I am seeing quite a wide variety of hits on both HOTWIRE and PRICELINE.. Some good some bad. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what my strategy should be to get the best value for the star rating while staying on or close to bourbon st? I know this is a vague description.. I can provide details if you get me started in the right direction.. Right now HOTWIRE lists a 3* w/ fitness, pool, rest, laundry, and hi-speed for 68/night. The 4* is 159 w/ fitness, pool, rest, business, and hi-speed for 159/night. PRICELINE has the omni royal (4*)for 189 so Im wondering what I could bid and have a reasonable shot at.. I dont really see ANY on hotwire or priceline that are ON bourbon street.. am I missing something?
  16. On hotwire - there is a 3* located in lookout mountain. It has: complimentary breakfast fitness center pool(s) Laundry facilities It is currently selling for $79 / night. On priceline you are unable to big on a 4 star. Priceline retail offers the Mariott Chattanooga Convention for 124, and the Sheraton Read House for 139 / night - however these both appear to be in the downtown chattanooga area, as when I try to do a name your own price on priceline, the 3 star option is greyed out unless I select downtown chattanooga as an area to stay. These two pieces of information make me question whether the 3 star on hotwire is really in lookout mountain, or is it really just one of the downtown hotels. Is there another route I should be looking at? Is this enough information to help deduce which hotels would be likely from hotwire? Also - with priceline and hotwire - is there any method to determine if you will get a king, 2 queens, or 2 double beds? We would like to split a room with a friend, but his height (6'4) requires him to stay in a queen bed, so splitting a room would only be possible if we could get 2 queens. Any insight is greatly appeciated, and if I book I will certainly use the links from this site. Will
  17. I am going to the Chattanooga area Feb 8-10th. We are either going to go with the 3* in Chattanooga (which appears to be the holiday inn) OR We are thinking about booking a 3* through HOTWIRE in the lookout mountain area - but im not sure which hotels those might be. I did not see any posts on that area - does anyone have any insight? Also - I noticed 2 hotels available on priceline for the same area - but no bid advice either. Any experience on the lookout mountain area?
  18. This morning 7am I booked a hotel (grand hyatt san francisco) for 148 using priceline. The dates are october 6,7,8.
