  1. I bid on a 5* hotel in Barcelona region "West and Suburbs", with the hopes of getting the Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel. In previous posts, that hotel shows as being won in the region "East", but now there are no 5* hotels showing in the East, and looking at the priceline maps it is indeed in the "West and Suburbs" map (just barely). Anyways, I bid $175 and got a counter-offer of $243. I re-bid $195, and it was rejected. The dates I was bidding on were Nov. 7 - 11, 2007. I decided not to continue bidding, as I found other nice hotels in the 140 euro range through other sources. (Bid using the PRICELINE link at www.savingsbarn.com)
  2. In addition to my post regarding 5* Madrid rejected bids... A few weeks ago, I bid on a 4* hotel in Old Madrid from Oct. 31 - Nov. 2, 2007. Started my bid at $75, and went up in $5 increments up to $125. All bids rejected with no counteroffers. (Submitted my bids through the PRICELINE link at www.savingsbarn.com)
  3. A few weeks ago, I bid on a 5* hotel in Old Madrid from Oct. 31 - Nov. 2, 2007. Started my bid at $95, and went up in $5 increments up to $150. All bids rejected with no counteroffers. (Submitted my bids through the PRICELINE link at www.savingsbarn.com)
  4. Got the Rosen Centre, and was 95% sure that this would be the case, thanks to this forum! :) The Amenity description was only slightly different than how it was listed in the "Hotwire Hotel List - Florida" topic in this forum (it excludes the sports, perhaps due to it being off-season now). Here were the details: Hotel Amenities: ------------------ Resort Airport Shuttle Fitness Centre Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Spa Services Children's Activity Program Average Customer Rating 4.3 Overall value 4.3 Room comfort 4.2 Service --- Joseph D. from Jacksonville, Florida Travel Date: April 2007 Length of stay: 2 days Customer rating: 5.0 Overall value: 5-Excellent Room comfort: 5-Excellent Service: 5-Excellent Traveler Rating (3.5 out of 5) Based on: 100+ customer reviews Last Reviewed: August 2007 $105/night for 5 nights + $71.41 taxes and fees = $596.41 total
  5. Was actually trying for a 4* in the Universal-SeaWorld region. I was adding non-4* regions to my bid so that I could re-bid, and didn't realized the Walt Disney World region would actually succeed since it has "Resorts" (which according to priceline are considered higher than 4*, and are therefore also eligible when making 4* bids). Started with $65 and $70 for 4*'s, but didn't include the WDW region in my bid until I made my $75 bid. Was then accepted in the WDW region to my surprise. I hadn't realized Resorts would be included in 4* bidding, so now I know.
