  1. been trying for a week. apparently it's a busy weekend because of the NFL game. not amazing, but overall happy with the price considering the other prices I was finding on all the other travel sites.
  2. this was posted as a 4 star hotel. 85% Hotwire satisfactory report. 4/5 Tripadvisor rating. Amenities: High-Speed Internet Access, Free Breakfast, Free Internet
  3. My friend who works in the hotel business told me that there is a conference in Vienna during this time, and wasn't able to get me the employee rates. Having said that, I was happy enough with this Priceline win. Seems to have good reviews on tripadvisor.
  4. tried for 4* up to $100, no success tried 3.5*, got the Delta at $75 with my first attempt. never been to Quebec City before, but looking forward to it.
  5. Hi i have never used priceline for a car rental, but thought i'd give it a try. i am going to boston and staying in the quincy market area at the end of march. want to go out to wrentham outlet mall for a day and would prefer to rent a car. would prefer to pickup in morning and return at night to avoid having to pay for parking it at the hotel. on priceline, can you specify where to pick up a car rental from? what are the pickup/return times usually? thanks
  6. put this bid in as my first bid...1 zone, 4 star...$120 and accepted. wasn't expecting it to go through, but i guess i hadn't searched this board before i put in the bid either so wasn't sure what the pricing was for that time period. seems like there are lots of bids going through at The Benjamin for around that price. much cheaper than i expected because last time i went to NYC was Oct 2007 and i was bidding up to $220/night without success. any advice would be appreciated. i hope this info will be helpful to others.
  7. wanted 4* originally but couldn't get anything at bids up to $135. eventually decided to try 3* and started at $80 until i got something at $110. more than i expected, but still better that rack rates.
  8. Hi everyone my first post here. i discovered this site last week and found it very useful. i was about to book through Hotwire when i saw they had a 3.5* for $124 morning, then i thought i'd just try priceline at $100 a night for 3* to see what would happen. first attempted 4* at $140 (didn't think i'd get anything. but they countered by suggesting i bid $22 more). Got the Hudson Hotel, which is probably what the Hotwire hotel was. So saved a few dollars going through priceline instead. seems like the rooms are extremely tiny there, but we don't plan on spending much time in the hotel so it is ok for us. we really just need a place to sleep at night. i'm planning a trip from Oct 5-9, but i figured i'd save some money by splitting the hotel bookings since Fri-Sat will be the expensive nights. now i hope i luck out for the first 2 nights. thanks for all the help from this board.
