  1. Made the purchase through the BB link for Hot.wire. Here is the Hotwire Description: Dubuque Area Hotel 95% Recommended Free Internet Pool, Indoor Pool Fitness Center Self Service Laundry With the fees, the total charged to our account is $67.78.
  2. As predicted on the BB website, the hotel we got was the Sheraton Music City Hotel. Here are the amenities that were listed on the hotel before we bid: 4 star 95% recommended Normal price $112 Free Parking Indoor pool/pools Pet Friendly Fitness Center Business Center Airport Shuttle, Restaurant TripAdvisor Rating 4/5 The total we paid including the tax recovery charges and fees is $256.28 for 3 nights.
  3. Ugh, I hope this isn't a problem, it seems that on Tripadvisor this hotel got bad reviews and lots of apologies (after the stays)from the manager, Chris N. I am just tired of expecting a deal for a clean room and getting something worse than a 1* flop house room. If this hotel doesn't work, I'm done with Priceline. I am pretty sure I used the link from Betterbidding.com, but I kept going back and forth, so I'm not quite sure. I'll report back after our stay in Springfield to let you know how it worked out.
  4. Bid on 5/29/13, starting at $10 for compact and Economy and $12 for Standard and Mid. No luck, thought I was probably bidding too early for the trip. On 7/29/13 the plan was to bid $11 for compact and economy and $13 for standard and Mid. They accepted $11 for the compact so I didn't need to go any further. Total with taxes and fees: $141.50. I am very happy with this price. (I used the PRICELINE link on Betterbidding.com)
  5. Thanks for your answer! We will be driving to Evergreen from there and then on to some other ski locations, so we know we need the 4wd.
  6. Hi, we are about to start bidding for a car for Denver in January. With Priceline, what type of vehicle do we need to bid on in order to be sure we will get a 4 wheel drive? Thanks!
  7. I've been working on a car for RSW since mid August (for the period of October 3- 18 and haven't had a tiny bit of luck. They wouldn't take even $12 for a compact or economy. I wonder if there is something going on there that they don't have excess cars?
  8. Really wanted this to be the Chase Suites, but Americinn is going to be fine I'm sure. We have not stayed here yet, but we travel through Lincoln often needing a place to stay so this will be a good opportunity to find another clean spot besides Chase Suites. Started bidding at $46, bid not accepted. Next bid was $55, not accepted. A screen popped up saying if we could bid $71 then we could have another chance right away. I bit at the offer and so we got the bid. In total, with taxes and Priceline fees $90.36. Used the link for PRICELINE on the BB home page. Thanks BB!
  9. We want to stay at Chase Suites on 7/29/12, and it is listed as one of the hotels for Lincoln, NE (we have stayed here before and loved it). I am not seeing its description currently on Hotwire. Is it possible that it will be offered sometime between now and the date we want to stay there? Do they sometimes wait to see how full they can get without listing on Hotwire? Also, on the BB list of hotels, it is listed as Lincoln rather than Lincoln North, Lincoln South, etc. Is that how I would find it listed on Hotwire or would it be in the "south" or "north" or "airport" area? Thank you so much for your help.
  10. Started at $10 Econ, then went up $1 per grade up to premium. Failed. After 24 hours rebid adding $1 to Econ (failed) and then $12 for Compact. I'm satisfied with that. Bid from the PRICELINE link on the support page for BetterBidding.
  11. Using the PRICELINE link from BB, started back in February and didn't have much luck until today. Started by bidding $10 economy size car, went up to $18 for luxury. Kept going up by $1 for a couple of weeks and then rebidding lower, and they still didn't bite, so I left it alone for 3 weeks. Tried again today at $12/day for an economy car, and they took it right away.
  12. Started with 4* for area 4 or 5 bid $65, then added 3.5* for 55. Unsuccessful, so tried area 4 for 4* for $70 and then added 3.5* for 59 with success. Would have liked a 4*, but we are happy with this location and this price. We wanted a large room which Sheraton Suites is supposed to have. I bid through BB site's PRICELINE link. Thanks for being here.
  13. AVIS is the company who will supply the car. Started at $11 for an Economy, then $12 for a Compact, then $14 for a midsize, and then won at $15 for a standard. I don't really like driving a bigger car, but needed to get this rental settled and off of my to-do list. I booked through the PRICELINE link on BetterBidding. Thanks so much for being there BB and everyone who contributes! :)
  14. Total with taxes, fees is $54.83 . Started out at 35 for Marietta, and then added two more areas to the south and bumped up the bid to $37. Looks like a nice place to crash on our way from Chicago to Florida! Used the PRICELINE link on Better Bidding
  15. Began bidding back in September, but not every day. I started at $12 and eventually worked my way up to $16 which is more than I have ever paid. Total rental is $353.55 and is with Avis at airport. Used the PRICELINE link at the top of the betterbidding page.
  16. Started in February, with $12 for Economy, went up to $15 when I won. Booked through BetterBidding PRICELINE link. Also tried up to Premium in grade at $17 per day and didn't win. PRICELINE isn't as cheap as it used to be? Not sure, but it is still always cheaper than other options.
  17. Have been bidding every day for 5 days for a car, starting with economy and then going up in size up to full. Started at 16, 17, 18, 20 and 21. Then went up bit by bit until I finally won today at 31/day ($466.98 including taxes and fees). This was for the standard sized car, something I didn't really want but I was getting scared. I used the PRICELINE link on the first page of Betterbidding.com.
  18. I ended up staying at my sister's house for the whole weekend, sorry to have not updated earlier. Thanks for your help.
  19. I was excited to see the Intercontinental on both the Priceline and Hotwire lists, but didn't see the description/price on HOTWIRE. So, I started bidding on Priceline, at $50/night 4* downtown Milwaukee. I have increased by $5 each day and today finally bid and lost at $70. I would go up to $100/night for a 4* downtown. Location downtown is more important than star level, but I don't want to pay $100 for anything less than 4*. Any suggestions? Thanks! (want to check in on 8/20 and check out on 8/23). Also, I have been using PRICELINE link from b.b. site.
  20. Here are the amenities listed on our purchase for a room in Minneapolis, Downtown, Le Meridian Chambers, $107/night: Boutique Hotel Non smoking Fitness Center Restaurant Business Center High Speed Internet Golf Nearby Thanks again to BetterBidding!
  21. Thanks to BetterBidding, we have a luxury hotel to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We booked through the link at the top of the page. Thanks, BetterBidding! :) Oh . . . the dates of travel are 7/9, 7/10, and 7/11. With taxes and fees, total is $372.29.
  22. This is not a PRICELINE or HOTWIRE recommendation, I hope that I won't be kicked off because of it. We have stayed at the Washington Suites two times and they are ideal for families. You have a kitchen (we usually have dinner "at home"), bedrooms and even a breakfast (they might have changed it but it was too starchy/sugary for me). They take you for free to the Metra (or whatever they call it) station so you can get in to D.C. I think it is in Arlington VA. Go to Legal Seafood for the best clam chowder in the world and the very best fish. Expect to pay for it though. Lunches are the best value.
  23. Hi, I am trying to identify a hotel on Hotwire for Fort Mill, SC: 2.5*, comp breakfast, fitness center, pool, business center, laundry fac., high speed internet. I am thinking that this is the Holiday Inn Express on Lakemont Blvd, but the Hotwire Price for 6/25 - 6/29 is only $49/night. Lowest I could find on the Internet was around $134/night. Also, is it possible to book one night and then if it is the Holiday Inn Express, book the other nights, or do they take the offer away? Thanks so much, Ruth
  24. Shuttle, fitness center, pool, restaurant on site, business center, laundry facility, internet
  25. :) Here are the listed amenities to the Hotwire Hotel in Chattanooga (The Chattanoogan): 3.5*, airport shuttle, fitness center, pool, restaurant on site, business center, internet, spa
