  1. Amenities Smoke Free Rooms, Airport Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), High-Speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby Sorry, same as my York, PA post, my wife made this purchase without using the HOTWIRE link. But also as before, did make several searches usuing it.
  2. Amenities Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service) It was the closest good deal we could get for Hershey, PA for this date. Wife made the purchase and didn't use the HOTWIRE link. Sorry about that, but I did do plenty of searches recently using it.
  3. Amenities - Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access Looks like they're using another different amenity order. Does Hotwire do this to try and trip people up like this? Anyway, we're pleased with the result. Used the HOTWIRE link as always.
  4. Amenities Suite Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Laundry Facilities (self-service) Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Kitchenette Was hoping for a little closer to Durham, but with kids in tow Homewood Suites is an excellent place to stay. This looks like the same place as the post a few entries earlier. Hotwire may have changed up the amenities. Used the HOTWIRE link as always.
  5. I took a little risk here as there isn't much choice in this zone. Being the cheapskate I am, I couldn't pass on this price. I was surprised that a Days Inn doesn't have continental breakfast. However, the website says it is attached to an IHOP. I wonder if they have an interest in the restaurant, because hotel guests get a 20% discount.

  8. I have added a review for this stay in the Hotel Reviews section.
  9. The Doubletree Hotel Airport is located near several office parks off of Tyvola Rd in the Executive Park-South zone. It is a very quite location, at least on weekends. There is very little in the way of restaurants etc., close by. The hotel appears to have been recently updated with contemporary decor in the lobby-restaurant-lounge area. There is an outdoor pool in a lush central courtyard. On check-in, I was greeted by a courteous and efficient staff member with no mention of Priceline. I had earlier requested a non-smoking king room and was told they would list my preference but couldn't guarantee it. I did receive my requested room as the hotel wasn't full. Doubletree provides fresh oatmeal chocolate chip cookies at check-in which was a nice touch. The elevator had apparently not been updated as there was a large stain on the carpet floor, and the wall coverings were frayed. This was definitely a Priceline room in regard to location. It was across and one door down from the elevator. The adjoining room had been converted into a meeting room. The adjoining door had a dead bolt lock, but there was NOT a second door on the meeting room side. This was not a problem for our stay as nothing was held in that room, but could be a problem if there was. There was some noise from the hallway, but not excessive. Even with the close proximity to the CLT airport, air traffic noise was minimal. The loudest noise maker was the cooling system. It was controlled by a wall mounted thermostat and very loud when running. In fact, you had to turn up the TV just to hear it over the A/C. The room looked to have been recently updated. There was a widescreen LCD TV and upscale furnishings and bathroom vanity. Nutrogena toiletries and the ubiquitous curved shower rod were prominently featured. The real hair dryer, not the kind attached to the wall, was a nice touch. The room size was average. The bed was comfortable but not luxurious. The upholstry on the reclining wing chair was worn, but the chair itself was comfortable. It took a while to determine TV channels as the in room guide did not match. There must have been only one front desk clerk on duty during most of our stay. A couple of times through the lobby the shuttle driver was manning the desk. This was a problem for us one time. While he was very courteous and wanted to help, he couldn't give us good restaurant recommendations. He was able to tell us location though, and we found some good choices. Overall, this was well worth the price paid through Priceline. Next time would probably try the South Park zone to be closer to restaurants, etc.
  10. I don't recall being able to bid on gas, but frequently used the grocery bidding service. I always bid the lowest price available and was only rejected a couple of times. I would rebid again the next day and be accepted.
  11. Started at $28 rejected. Added $3 per bid and used free rebid zones until accepted at $43.
