  1. Used the PRICELINE link to start my bidding. Got the hotel on my final bid. Started at $60 and worked my way up.
  2. For the 4-star hotel, the price is $94 per night. The amenities you have listed are correct. For the 3.5-star hotel, the price is $109 per night. The amenities you have listed are correct.
  3. Dates of stay are Aug. 23-25. Thanks!
  4. Hello, I wanted to see if anyone could confirm my suspicions about the hotels I am seeing on Hotwire. We are going to a couple of Cards games and want to stay downtown close to the stadium. I am seeing the following two hotels: 4 Star - Pet friendly, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access My guess is this is the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch (is this formerly the Hyatt Riverfront?) 3.5 Star - Pet Friendly, Indoor Pool(s), Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s) My guess is this is the Sheraton St. Louis City Center Any help would be much appreciated. I don't think we would choose the Sheraton, but the Hyatt looks okay. I did use your HOTWIRE link when looking for the hotels.
  5. Whoops, please move this post to Priceline. Sorry about that.
  6. Steelers play on Sunday, so the prices are crazy. Started my bidding with the sites PRICELINE link.
  7. Patience was the key. Started at $49 for 4*, then 3.5* and 3*. I only wanted Downtown Providence. I had to bid for a few days. Finally hit at $66 for 3*. Bid was for two rooms. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $66.00 Subtotal: $132.00 Taxes & Fees: $26.28 Total Charges*: $158.28
  8. Mixed reviews on this one, but looks like a great location. We'll only be here one night, so it should do. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $95.00 Subtotal: $190.00 Taxes & Fees: $36.78 Total Charges*: $226.78
  9. Update - My brother booked me a car with his company discount. His discount was about the same as what I had already bid on Priceline. Thanks for all the help though.
  10. I'm up to $30 on everything bigger than a mid-size for 4/14-4/18. No luck yet. I must be close, I hope. Shuttle launch on 4/19 is what is causing the price to go up on that day.
  11. I'm up to $17 bidding on a mid-size and up from 4/14 - 4/18 now. I'll have my brother-in-law bid tonight. I'm hoping that I can just call the company before the trip and reserve the car for another night at the lowest rate they will provide. Maybe then I won't have to go back to the airport, but I will if needed.
  12. I looked at the rates, and it looks like the difference would be $200+. So I would probably be willing to go to the airport to rent the car under the new contract. Looks like the Hotwire rate is $39 per day for mid-size and larger. I'll start bidding minus the last day at around $15 and see what I get. Crazy what a difference a day can make.
  13. Thanks for the info about Payless. I think I am going to avoid them at all costs. How did you figure out the issue is the last day of the stay? We will be in Kissimee, so we will need a car the last day to get to the airport (three adults and a child). I don't mind breaking up the bids, but how do car rental companies typically handle that situation if you get the same company? I would hope that they wouldn't have you take the car back or anything like that. If I do remove the last day from the bids, where do you suggest I start my bidding at again? Thanks for the bidding help. I always use the links from this site.
  14. I'm up to $58 on all cars mid-size and larger with no luck so far.
  15. Whoops, just noticed this topic needs to be moved to the Priceline thread. Up to $42 on the bidding with no win.
  16. I'm up to $36 on all three types. No luck yet. Looking like Hotwire might be the best deal. And they don't use Payless, so that is good.
  17. I've bid up to $34 for Full size/Standard/Mid-size. No dice yet. Question - does Hotwire use Payless rental car company?
  18. I have bid $34 on Priceline for Orlando for the dates 4/14-4/19. No winner for Full size, standard or mid-size. Trying to get a deal and avoid Payless rentals. And I can't seem to get the "Lock Low and Go" to work for me.
  19. Decided to use HOTWIRE. TripAdvisor reviews seem pretty good - I'll let you know how the stay goes. Amenities were the same as on this board: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business Used the HOTWIRE link from the board.
  20. Hello, I was wondering if anyone has an opinion if I should use either PRICELINE or HOTWIRE for the Spain part of our trip. It doesn't look like many people book in these cities. We will be staying in Barcelona for two nights (Oct. 5-6) and Madrid (Oct. 8-10). Thanks for the advice.
  21. We got the Marriott Rive Gauche - I posted how I won it in another thread. Thanks for the help. Anthony
  22. Selected 4* OQE Bid $140, rejected. add re-bid zone Bid $150, rejected. Select 4* St. Germain - Latin Quarter - Montparnasse. Bid $140, rejected. add re-bid zone Bid $150, rejected. Select 4* OQE and St. Germain - Latin Quarter - Montparnasse. Bid $155, rejected. Bid $160. Accepted. We used the PRICELINE link from betterbidding. Hopefully this is an okay hotel with a good location. I really appreciate this board, it is very helpful. Thanks, Anthony
  23. I think I am going to bid on all three zones: St. Germain - Latin Quarter - Montparnasse, Opera Quarter West and Opera Quarter East. Bidding help would be appreciated. Thanks, Anthony
  24. Thanks for the advice. Would you recommend any other zones? I'm going to take a hard look at the hotels today and make sure that all of them are acceptable.
