  1. Ok: Full amenities list: Amenities: Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby Accessibility: Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking Thanks!
  2. Won: Kimpton Hotel Vintage Portland (Used BetterBidding Search) NOTE: Hotel list shows as 4.0, but Hotwire had 4.5. Amenities: Boutique Hotel, Business center, Golf Nearby, Internet access, Pet friendly, Restaurant(s), Smoke-free rooms. $131 a night. (Hotel website had $260) NOTE: This hotel offered 3 different bed choices. Our situation is 3 adults in one room, which often raises the price. King Bed price was $131, but 2 Queen prince was $229. However, the third choice was "Hotel Chooses Bed Type" with a guarantee that it will be right for the number of guests. That was also $131. So, here's hoping it's 2 beds and not a pull out or rollaway cot. Parking $43. Typical and irritating. But still a better rate than other sites for worse hotels...
  3. THIS IS AN UPDATE TO THE GEORGIA (Buckhead) Hotel list. This hotel is listed at 3.5*on BetterBidding, but is now 4* on Hotwire. Amenities: Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Internet, Self-Service Laundry. Got $72 and plan to add one extra day (a great feature.) Based on previous stays, I expected the W at this rate, so the Marriott was a surprise. While I'm skeptical of the quality of this hotel, at least $72 isn't that bad - and how bad can it be? Don't answer that, I know, I might choose to sleep in my car at the mall across the street. But, I'll update here. So, just a warning that sometimes you don't get what you expect as Hotwire can change things before this sight catches it. Parking is $24, part of the Buckhead scam. Any suggestions for free parking in Buckhead? I'm happy to walk a bit to save $150. So, to sum up, Buckhead Marriott is now a 4* and not 3.5* according to Hotwire.
  4. I'm looking at Hotwire, 4* hotel in Marietta. Amenities are Suite (STE), Non-smoking, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center and Laundry. $82. (two rooms). October 5-8, 2011. Interestingly, there are no 4* hotels in the BetterBidding hotel list under the Marietta heading - BUT! There are 2 listings for the same hotel (Marietta Conference Center and Resort) in the section for Hotwire vacation packages - one of those listings has the hotel as a 4*, the other as a 4.5*. Interestingly, the same hotel is listed in the Marietta section as a 3.5*. Really weird. So, what do you think it is? The only hotel in Marietta on the BB list with "Suites" and "Laundry" is the Sheraton Suites Marietta at (3.5*). I've stayed there before, okay hotel, but not 4* unless they've really upgraded it. The Hyatt Regency Suites is doing a major remodel, and it could have been upgraded to a 4* in the Hotwire system. But is it possible this is the Marietta Conference Center and Resort? That hotel is either a 3.5*, a 4* or a 4.5* in the lists. Weird. Thanks, Scott
