This hotel is actually across the river from Louisville in Jeffersonville, Indiana. 700 W. Riverside Drive Jeffersonville, IN, 47130 The hotel has a shuttle that will bring you across the river to the entertainment district, but only runs until 11pm. Cab fare back was under $10. Got it first try, $50 + 14.03 = 64.03. Started bidding at 3* and got this "upgrade". I've stayed at this hotel before and its just ok, few blocks from the light rail which I will be taking that evening. Probably should have gone with the $59 hotwire which looked to be the Aloft. Could prepay for the hotel that night for $84, normal rates are 99, oh well I guess.

Used PRICELINE link from above. Started at $45 for 3* downtown MPLS, got denied but counter offer of $55. I refused, added Fridley, upped my bid to $48 and got accepted. $48 + $13.77 tax = $61.77 rate on Aloft website is $146 including tax.

Booked the Chase Suites by Woodfin in OVerland Park for $59/night + 23.81 = $141.82 The amenities listed - no smoking, laundry, business center, pool, complimentary breakfast, fitness center Their website says the fitness center is a complimentary use of a local full service athletic club. The Twin Cities Marathon is that weekend, so you are talking 8000 people running the 10 miler and you are talking another 10,000 runners in the full marathon and they all start in downtown Minneapolis on that Sunday, Oct. 2. Good luck!

There are two campgrounds within city limits as well, both are city owned, but I'm not sure if they take reservations or not. And last but not least, you can sleep in the parking lot of the Duluth entertainment center. This is near the finish line. I have seen people sleeping in their SUV's there before. Good Luck!
