Just had my first bad experience followed by a fantastic experience with Hotwire. I book a LOT of rooms with both Hotwire and Priceline as my husband travels quite a bit. I just booked a 3.5* hotel in Huntsville, AL (amenities shown Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access) for $76. That was more than I had planned on spending, but I knew there were only 2 legitimate 3.5* properties in the area and that was a great rate for either of them. However, it showed up at the Best Western Plus Rocket City, a 2* on Priceline and hotelscombined. It was a 3* on Orbitz, but showed up with no star rating on Expedia. I read through this thread and readied myself for a fight. I called the customer service number for Hotwire Express, which apparently I qualify for, and immediately got a very cheerful person on the other end. She backed up why the property got the 3.5* rating, but said as a thank you for being a good customer should would go ahead and cancel and refund the reservation. I was floored! No fighting, nothing. Yay Hotwire, what lovely customer service!
