  1. Like I stated in my earlier post, had to split my dates, but happy that with waiting a week I was able to find a hotel for these dates for less than $70. Started at $40 and rebid $3 more each time. With so many zones in Minneapolis it makes it easy.
  2. I needed a room for the 20-26th but using rebid zones bid up to $70 several times without a win. I noticed many places were sold out the first few nights and by chopping those off I got the Doubletree on my second bid for $40/ night. I waited a week to bid again for the first few nights, I'll post about that in another thread.

  4. Probably could have got this cheaper on Priceline, but I wanted to avoid the Courtyard so it was worth the extra $10 or so. Amenities shown: Smoke Free Rooms Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access
  5. I posted about this in the Hotwire tips forum because I was unhappy with a Best Western at a 3.5* level, Priceline and hotelsombined show it as a 2*. They stood by their rating, but were great to work with and refunded my money. Thought I should repost it here anyway as it is not in the databse Amenities shown: Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access
  6. Got this same hotel last year for the same rate Amenities shown: Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center
  7. Just had my first bad experience followed by a fantastic experience with Hotwire. I book a LOT of rooms with both Hotwire and Priceline as my husband travels quite a bit. I just booked a 3.5* hotel in Huntsville, AL (amenities shown Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access) for $76. That was more than I had planned on spending, but I knew there were only 2 legitimate 3.5* properties in the area and that was a great rate for either of them. However, it showed up at the Best Western Plus Rocket City, a 2* on Priceline and hotelscombined. It was a 3* on Orbitz, but showed up with no star rating on Expedia. I read through this thread and readied myself for a fight. I called the customer service number for Hotwire Express, which apparently I qualify for, and immediately got a very cheerful person on the other end. She backed up why the property got the 3.5* rating, but said as a thank you for being a good customer should would go ahead and cancel and refund the reservation. I was floored! No fighting, nothing. Yay Hotwire, what lovely customer service!
  8. Wasn't worried about this being the La Quinta as that has been downgraded to a 2.5* on Expedia so should be considered so on Hotwire as well. Paid a bit more that I probably would have on Priceline, but I really wanted this property. 9. Tried on PRICELINE, but got shot down up to $60, resorted to HOTWIRE because I was pretty sure this would be the Country Inn Amenities shown: Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access
  10. Started at $42 and was accepted after a couple rebids. Was hoping for the Preston, but will be just fine with the Sheraton. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $46.00 Subtotal: $46.00 Taxes & Fees: $16.28 Total Charges*: $62.28
  11. Started at $42 and rebid until it was accepted at $50. Been at the Courtyard for 4 nights and needed to stay one more, hoping to get this hotel again, but alas I won the Residence Inn. Doesn't look nearly as nice, but it will be fine for one night I am sure. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $50.00 Subtotal: $50.00 Taxes & Fees: $16.15 Total Charges*: $66.15
  12. Knew there were 2 possible rebid zones so started (what I thought was) low at $45. Accepted on the first try. Wasn't expecting the Courtyard, but it should be more than adequate, espcially considering the price. Cheapest I could find otherwise for the same is $124/night.
  13. Amenities shown: Fitness Center Pool(s) High-speed Internet Access Tried on PRICELINE, but there is no possibilities for rebids at 3* so snagged this one on Hotwire for a decent rate and 100% HOTWIRE customer approval rating.
  14. Started at $60 and worked my way up a few bucks at a time until I got it accepted. Very happy with the location, right where I wanted to be.
  15. Started at $62, after 3 rebids finally took at $70 Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $70.00 Subtotal: $70.00 Taxes & Fees: $17.84 Total Charges*: $87.84
  16. Started at $42 and after rebids finally took at $52. Wasn't my first choice from the 3*s in the area, but it will do for the night and the price. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $52.00 Subtotal: $52.00 Taxes & Fees: $15.84 Total Charges*: $67.84

  18. My first bid was at $48, they didn't accept but gave me an automatic option to rebid at $58. Seeing that there were no ther areas here to use as a free rebid, I bit. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $58.00 Subtotal: $58.00 Taxes & Fees: $13.77 Total Charges*: $71.77

  21. Saw this hotel posted earlier on this site as a 2.5*, but I think it is considered 3* on most travel sites. Priceline took my bid on the first try, which always makes me feel like I overpaid a bit, but I'm happy with $45 Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $45.00 Subtotal: $45.00 Taxes & Fees: $13.14 Total Charges*: $58.14
  22. Started at $44 rebid 3 times using other zones w/out a 3*. Finally took at $54 Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $54.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $108.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $22.30 (USD) Total Room Cost: $130.30 (USD)
  23. I have been looking for a hotel in this area for weeks and there is not much to choose from, what is there is really expensive, very little under $80 a night. After rebidding 4 times priceline finally took $58, seems insane to pay that much for a backwater Days Inn. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $58.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Room Subtotal: $174.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $27.15 (USD) Total Room Cost: $201.15 (USD)
  24. took 4 rebids but finally got a bite Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $62.00 Subtotal: $248.00 Taxes & Fees: $47.92 Total Charges*: $295.92 Ugh, just noticed I put '09 in the title, feel free to edit that to '10 :)
