  1. I forgot to add in the amenities: Free Internet Boutique Hotel Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High Speed Internet Spa Services Accessible for the Deaf (there are more, mostly regarding accessibility for disabilities) Do you think this is the Windsor Court? Thoughts, opinions? Thanks!
  2. When I opened the second window "compare with hotels.com" which is a check box you check off, it comes up with a list of hotels and prices. When I sorted by star rating and then added fitness center and internet access, it boiled down to a small list of hotels. When I added swimming pool, the Windsor Court dropped off the list (hotels.com has it listed as 4.5 stars). Interestingly, it does have a pool but when I clicked on swimming pool it definitely fell off the list. It also mentioned accessibility and roll-in shower. Your thoughts? Could it be the Windsor Court maybe?
  3. Yes, it's still there- 1 room for 2 adults and 1 child. Now it says accessible room, and roll in shower. Does that help? Let me know any guesses you may have, I'm stumped because there is no pool.....
  4. Need help ID'ing this hotel- 4.5 stars, Downtown New Orleans- amenities listed as follows: Fitness center, restaurant, business center, high speed internet access. I am confused since it doesn't list a pool. Also confused because it's 4.5 stars.... Any thoughts? Thanks for the help!
  5. Was rejected at $23/day so went to $29/day and won. PRICELINE gave me a bonus coupon in my account for $3/day so that adds $2.33/day to your bid. I am very happy as I was seeing $50-$60/day retail for convertibles.
  6. Yes, I got spooked and jumped the gun after seeing the last person who posted that they bid up to $120 for the same category with no success- I am happy with this hotel though the reviews look great!
  7. $120/night 9/10-9/12/11 My 1st bid and it was accepted. I knew I should have started at a lower price- bid wisely!! Do you think I could have gotten a lower price for these dates and 4* in La Jolla?
  8. First time St. Croix reported on Hotwire- please add this one to the list. We are excited, this was the resort we wanted!!!!!
  9. Could this be Carambola Beach Resort??? Resort, beachfront, fitness center, pool, restaurant, golf nearby, tennis nearby I am seeing this as 3.5* for $172 per night for 3/23/10 to 3/30/10 Let me know what you think- I would love to get the Carambola!!!!
  10. Yes, I still want to do maximum bid of $200, and it would be 3/23/10 to 3/30/10- I am a little intimidated because I feel like I don't know what's out there since there haven't been many wins posted of late- I basically have no re-bid zones because the area is so limited, right? So should I just go for the 4* category, and go up $5 to $10 each day until I get an accepted bid? Please advise- Thanks!
  11. By the way, it looks like Priceline raised the star rating for the Marriott Frenchman's Reef on their retail side to a 4*. Does that mean it would have the same star rating on Bid Your Own Price? I just want to make sure before I start bidding- I would love to get the Marriott if at all possible!
  12. Yes, I have seen the mixed reviews for the Marriott Frenchman's Reef- but was going to give it a go anyway. I usually use www.tripadvisor.com for reviews- I figured if they assign me to a inferior room, I'll just complain and ask to be moved, etc. I like the idea of the Marriott because it has 8 restaurants- I checked out the Wyndham but it seems limited- only 2 or 3 restaurants- it seems like the Marriott is the mega-resort option there on St. Thomas in terms of facilities- I'll post a review if I bid it, win it and go! :0)
  13. Ah, I am searching for 2 adults, 1 child (we have a 3 year old son). Is that why it's not coming up? Strange.... Thanks for the tips on Wyndham on Orbitz!
  14. I'm not seeing a 4* on Hotwire for those dates at all, not for any price..... 3/23 to 3/30/10- Am I missing something?
  15. I am not seeing the 4* for $199 on Hotwire now for St. Thomas from 3/23/10 to 3/30/10- is it possible it alredy got removed? Please advise..... Regina
  16. I would definitely go for a 4* hotel, I was only focussed on the hotels I saw listed as possibilities for Priceline's BYO for St. Thomas- I hadn't factored in that there could be additional ones in additional higher rated star categories- but it did seem like a very short list! :0) I would be happy with the Marriot Frenchmen's Reef Resort as well, but I don't see any winning bids posted from that hotel for a long time. I guess I am going to be the sacrificial lamb and "see what I get" :0) I'll definitely let everyone know what happens. Do you think I should do Priceline's BYO or start with Hotwire first? Or does it even matter? Wish me luck!
  17. Great advice! I will start at $150 and hope to get a 4*- I'll keep bidding up and up until I reach my maximum of $200 a night. The Wyndham sounds great- I'll definitely let everyone know what hotel I win, when I win! :0)
  18. Would love some advice on what to bid for St. Thomas - we want to travel 3/23/10 to 3/30/10- I am not sure what to bid- the retail price for the Marriott Frenchmen's Reef (through Priceline's retail side) is $440 per night. I know that I am not guaranteed to get that hotel, although that is a hotel listed on Better Bidding's list of hotels in St. Thomas. I guess I'm willing to spend up to $200 per night, but just wasn't sure what bid to start with. Any advice would be appreciated- thanks! Regina Long Island, NY
  19. Dates were 10/4 to 10/9/09- sorry I forgot to include that in the subject line!
  20. Took about a week to get this bid accepted - I started bidding very low and worked my way up a dollar at a time waiting 24 hours each time my bid was rejected. Good luck! Dates are 10/4 to 10/9/09- sorry i forgot to include that in the subject line!
  21. I started my bidding at $75, and was rejected all the way up through $120 by adding zones (luckily for me, there was only 1 other zone which had a Resort category hotel!)- then had my husband try to resume bidding after exhausting all zones at $120. I went up by $5 increments to $155, and won the exact hotel I wanted!!!! I am absolutely thrilled, and cannot thank Betterbidding.com enough! Will definitely be back with more posts on future vacations!!!! -R
  22. Woo hoo! I won it!!!! I got the JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes for $155 per night- The lowest I've seen anywhere on the internet was $279 through marriott.com and approximately $255 per night through Priceline Vacations (after backing out the estimated cost of the flights and rental car) Betterbidding.com is the BEST!!!! I will post my win in a different thread. Thanks a million!!!!!! -R
  23. Disregard my last post- I just needed to add another zone- I am back in, and having my husband bid.
  24. Okay- I bid up to $120 and was rejected, which I kind of expected. Then, I closed my browser, and using the link from this site, re-entered Priceline. I entered my husband's information, name, credit card number, etc in an attempt to begin bidding with him as the person reserving the travel- however, it seems that it "recognized" me, that I had previously bid on this trip, etc. Was my mistake using the same e-mail address that I used when I did my own registration? Is there any way to get around this now, or am I stuck waiting the 24 hours? -R
