  1. So today, there is a new listing that I can't identify: 4 nights, July 7-11 4* White House-Capitol Hill area $112 Amenities: Boutique, Fitness, Business, Internet, Golf, Tennis, Recommended by 85%, 4* on TripAdvisor, 50+ reviews (does that refer to TripAdvisor reviews, or to Hotwire reviews?) Again, any idea? And thanks so much.
  2. There's another DC listing that I can't identify - this one in the White House/Capitol Hill area. I'm not sure if I should start a new thread about this one or not. The listing is for 4 nights, July 7th-11th, White House-Capitol Hill, 4*, $144 a night. The amenities listed are: Fitness Internet Business Restaurant It also says its recommended by 100% of customers, and seems to have a 4-1/2* and 40+ review on TripAdvisor. This doesn't match up with anything on your list (at first I thought it might by the Hilton, Hyatt or Liaison, but not with the 100%/4-1/2* TripAdvisor ratings thrown in). Based on the 100% rating, 40+ reviews and 4-1/2* on TripAdvisor, the only hotels I can come up with are Eldon Luxury Suites, St. Regis, and the Ritz-Carlton Georgetown. Any idea what this might be?
  3. Thanks. (I'm willing to gamble, but not quite that much!) I'll keep checking back.
  4. I haven't seen this one before, and I can't identify it from your list: 4 nights July 7-11 Dupont Circle Embassy Row 4* $126.00 Only amenities listed (I checked the second page, too) are : Fitness, Business Center Recommended in 75% of reviews Any idea what hotel this might be? Thanks for your help.
  5. I do not understand what it means when it says "(same as Liaison Capitol Hill)" under the Hyatt listing, and "(same as Hyatt Regency)" under the Liasison listing. The Hyatt lists 5 amenities and the Oiaison lists 7 amenities (all the same ones as the Hyatt, plus Smoke Free and Laundry). Could someone explain this to me please?
  6. Just letting you know I took the plunge (using your HOTWIRE link) and it was indeed the Sheraton Universal.
  7. Update: We didn't end up using HOTWIRE for this trip because we couldn't identify the property. Thanks for your help.
  8. I am looking at this weekend, 2 nights, Nov. 6th and 7th. 4* for $99.00 (actually, it just went down to $96.00 when I reopened it). Amenities are: Non-smoking Fitness Pool Business Internet Restaurant It also says "Best Value" if that helps. From my searches on here, this appears to be the Sheraton Universal, BUT, here's why I'm concerned that this may be incorrect. First, it shows the TripAdvisor rating as 3.0/5.0 whereas the Sheraton actually has a 3.5/5.0 TripAdvisor rating. Also, however, on Hotwire it states that this hotel is 16.4 miles from LAX, while the Sheraton Universal seems to be between 25 and 30 miles depending on how you go (mapquest vs. googlemaps). Do you have any idea if this is the Sheraton Universal, or can you identify it as something else? Thank you so much for your help.
  9. 4* hotels in Manhattan go for $400 and up (non-Priceline, non-Hotwire). You won't get a 4* on PRICELINE or HOTWIRE for $100-$125, except maybe in the middle January. What are your dates?
  10. I'm so pleased to see your post. The Westin seems to be available at $213 for the dates of my stay as well. I haven't pulled the trigger yet. Can you tell me -- does that price include tax or Hotwire charges? (If I decide to do it, I will of course do it through this site).
  11. Yes, it does show "tennis nearby". Does that make it identifiable?
  12. Date: 1 night, 2 adults, april 28, 2008 Amenities: Resort, NS, Fitness, pool, Restaurant, Business, Internet, Golf, (Tennis) Price: $112. 4*, North Scottsdale There is no information about TripAdvisor reviews so I can't match this up. I'm guessing it's the Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center, but the amenities don't match up exactly (no shuttle, for instance). Any idea what this is?
  13. We didn't end up using HOTWIRE for this trip because the savings weren't "enough". Thanks anyway.
  14. I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you mean. Each was, in fact, listed as 4*. They were never listed at the same time (is that what you mean?). First the first one was listed, then later the same day, the first one disappeared and the second one was listed. It just seemed odd since the listings were for the same exact price/savings combination, same star rating, same area and dates, but the amenities listed for each were very different. Occupancy in each case is 2 adults.
  15. Thanks. I posted on the other thread that we didn't end up using Hotwire or Priceline in Chicago. The dates for San Antonio are 3 nights, checking in March 7th, checking out March 10th (Friday-Sunday nights). Thanks.
  16. Sorry I never followed up, but we ended up not using Hotwire or Priceline - we used Marriott points for the Marriott Magnificent Mile.
  17. This is kind of odd, but here goes. This morning there was a listing on Hotwire for the following: San Antonio Riverwalk North and Alamo $159 Amenities were: Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Internet Access. The listing said this was a 10% savings ($17.10). I didn't take it because first of all I couldn't identify it, and second, that is not enough savings to "fly blind". I couldn't find any reference to TripAdvisor ratings on this one. Now this afternoon there's a different listing (the above one being gone): San Antonio Riverwalk North and Alamo $159 - still says 10% savings ($17.10) Customer Favorite Amenities are: Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Internet Access, Business Center, Tennis, Golf Trip Advisor: 4.0/100+ reviews/November 2007 last review Can anyone help me figure out what hotel this is? Thanks.
  18. Good morning. There are two new HOTWIRE listing this morning that seem promising. Both for 2 nights (tonight and tomorrow night) 4* Streeterville customer favorite with the following amenities Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Internet Tennis Spa Given the tennis, is this likely the Swissotel? 4* North Michigan Avenue - Water Tower - Gold Coast with the following amenities: Suite Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Internet Both are listed as being rated 4.0 on TripAdvisor. Thanks much.
  19. Wow, the prices have come down on Hotwire substantially since this morning. Please help: 4* Museum Campus with the following amenities: Fitness Pool Business Internet Restaurant $136 for one night Saturday Sept. 7 -OR- 4* Magnificent Mile - Water Tower with the following amenities: Boutique Fitness Restaurant Business Internet $176 for one night Saturday Sept. 7 (should I be posting these in separate threads?) thanks
  20. I've actually read the reviews, and decided I probably would not be happy with that hotel, so I'm going to skip it. I do appreciate the advice though.
  21. I used to limit myself to 4-1/2* on Hotwire in a major metropolitan area (fewer stars ok at the airport for an overnight stay). I haven't seen any 4-1/2* on Hotwire lately -- do they not use that designation anymore? In the past, the Westin Times Square and I think the Hilton Times Square were both 4-1/2*.
  22. What would be your best guess for a 4* Streeterville hotel for 2 nights Sept. 7th and 8th, with the following amenities: Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Internet for $179.00 a night? It also says its 3.5 stars on TripAdvisor with 120+ reviews. The Hilton maybe? Thanks for your help.
  23. Hi - new member here. Would your answer be the same (Palmer House Hilton) if the date were changed to one night - September 8th - for $189.00?
