  3. On 2/1/2010, tried: $38 3* Seattle Airport - Failed $40 Added 2.5* Kirkland (free rebid) - Failed On 2/2/2010, tried: $42 3* Seattle Airport - Accepted @ Holiday Inn Seatac Airport ($55.34 total including taxes and PL fees) We're actually heading Maui early the morning of the 24th, and for us this is a cheaper more convenient and relaxing way to get to the airport than taking a shuttle or taxi. Will be trying the new light rail from downtown too! Used the PRICELINE link.
  4. Trying to find out what star level the Olympic Lodge in Port Angeles might be on Priceline, if even a Name Your Own Price hotel. The only hotel listed in the forum for Port Angeles is the 3* Red Lion, which I want to avoid at all costs based on TripAdvisor reviews. The Olympic Lodge appears to be far superior in terms of ratings and recent upgrades. It is listed as a 2.5* on the Shop And Compare section of PL, which I know is no guarantee that it will come up under NYO. Any assistance is much appreciated!!
  5. Actually, there are a lot of good options in Bellevue depending on what you're looking for... The Hyatt is right across the street from the Bellevue Square Mall, one of the most upscale malls in the Seattle area with lots of shopping and restaurants. That area of Bellevue has also undergone a major upgrade over the past 10-15 years, so there are numerous restaurants and night club types of entertainment all within blocks of each other. Here are some highlights: Daniel's Broiler - upscale steak house style restaurant. Entrees are pricey $30-50/each, but they have a great happy hour with 1/2 price appetizers and drink specials Lucky Strike - a bowling alley/nightclub wrapped up into one. Not your typical bowling alley (they have a dress code, fancy drinks, etc), but a cool place for a unique time. The Parlor - billiard hall/bar...in the same complex as Lucky Strike...don't wear a hat if you go there Movie Theatre - accessible by new skybridge from the Hyatt side of the street...in same building as Parlor and Lucky Strike Bis on Main - my favorite restaurant in Bellevue (a few blocks to the south on Main St in "Old Bellevue"). Excellent food, nice atmosphere, good happy hour. Again a little pricey, but worth it. Old Bellevue - quite a few cute shops, a French style cafe bakery with outstanding coffee and amazing pastries. Bellevue Central Park - immediately to the South of Bellevue Square...pretty park with a walking loop Lake Washington - numerous beachfront parks on the Lake within walking distance if you don't mind a 10-15 minute walk Very close to downtown Seattle, even via bus (from the Bellevue transit center)...15 minute ride maybe from there (or less) Bellevue Galleria - more restaurants and retail
  6. Tried Priceline up to $62 for Walla Walla 2*. Hotwire shows a 2* for $62 with these amenities: -Complimentary Breakfast -Pool -Laundry -High Speed Internet I haven't used Hotwire before, and have never been to Walla Walla. Any ideas which hotel this might be? Thanks!
  7. As other posts mention, Bellingham is a one-zone city so there isn't too much strategy here. Tried 3* up to $85 with no success, so decided to settle for 2*. Bid rejected at $50, but I got a Priceline counter offer for $14 more so I knew I was close. Waited 24 hours and re-bid at $55 successfully. I've stayed at the Holiday Inn Express before, and it is actually a pretty decent hotel. Just need a place to crash after a wedding, so won't be spending much time in the room. This is a perfect hotel for that purpose.
  8. Bid Log: 4* Downtown Pike Place zone - $80 rejected Added Bothell zone - $90 rejected Added Everett zone - $100 rejected Added South Lake Union zone - $110 ACCEPTED Westin Seattle Yeah, for New Years!! I didn't think there was a chance we'd get New Years Eve downtown for this price!
  9. I've tried bidding on a 3* in the Seattle Downtown zone up to $105, but my bid was not accepted. Is there something going on this night (7/26 - Saturday)?? Any help or information is appreciated...
  10. 1) 4* Concord-Lafayette, $60 REJECTED 2) Added Berkely-Emeryville free rebid zone, $70 REJECTED 3) Added Hayward-Castro Valley free rebid zone, $80 ACCEPTED 4* Renaissance ClubSport Walnut Creek Guess I should have tried $75, but close enough! The cheapest online rate I saw for this hotel was $135 for the one night we'll be there (through Priceline). Marriott.com's lowest rate was $149. That's about a 53% savings!
  11. I have booked a couple hotel stays through Priceline using the methods described in this forum, with great success. But I've never rented a car through Priceline's "name your own price" feature. Is there a description somewhere in the forum explaining how this works and how to best take advantage of it like there is for hotels? If not, can someone give me a few pointers? Thanks!
