  1. I am getting nowhere with my bids up to $120. But others on this board have succeeded with a bid of $113, for the same time period. My earlier bid for $90 was accepted, for 13 days earlier.
  2. I am looking at the same area/level for the 16-18th Sept, and have been bombing out all week. But I have been told that the hotels are more likely to accept bids closer to the time. I did get 2 days at the Hyatt in the first week of September for $90+.
  3. I have gotten rental cars a few times on Priceline, from between $20-25 a day for a full-sized car. But the insurance is so expensive that I wonder if I could be getting a better deal. Your thoughts?
  4. Tht's great. I have been trying for the same area, same level for the last 3 days and bombing out at $110. My stay begins the 16th. I will bid up a bit higher on today's go-round.

  8. (USE) 4* Hyatt Regency, Check-in 3 September, check-out 5 September Original bid: $80, 4*, USE Given counteroffer of 'Bid $22 more and you may succeed' Winning bid: $90, USE+Civic Centre
  9. Sorry, I posted too quickly, and am in the wrong forum. I got this on Priceline. My first bid was $80 and I jacked it up to $90. The total is $117. The strange thing is, when I bid $80, I was given a counteroffer of $102. But when I had to bid for different days, my bid for $110 was rejected. Now I am closed out, with no counteroffers in sight.
  10. I got 2 nights in the beginning of September at the Hyatt Regency for 90+tax. But I also have to book two additional nights, 10 days later. I got my bids up to $110 til I was closed out, after using up all my options. Advice and comments please.
  11. Please help me choose the best area for a 4 day stay in San Francisco. We would like to be somewhere where it is enjoyable to walk in the early evening, with fewer possibilities of being harassed. The last time I was there, I was too close to the downtown area. We will not be renting a car this time, so it should be near public transport. Any recommendations for 4* hotels would be great. Thanks in advance.
