  1. I'm happy with this win, although it took a long time for the price to come down to $60.
  2. Amenities: Suite Shuttle Non Smoking Complimentary Breakfast Fitness High Speed Internet access I did go through the HOTWIRE travel link for my purchase!
  3. After checking endlessly on PRICELINE, and seeing mostly high prices, I went with HOTWIRE. With an Entertainment rebate coupon, the total price is $70. I'm happy with my win.
  4. Thanks for your kind reply! With 8-4* hotels in downtown Toronto, I received one of the poorest rated! I have to wonder why Priceline keeps a hotel such as this on their list. There are clearly more negative than positive reviews. Have had 5 wins with Priceline, and every hotel was just not what I was hoping for. In my experience, I'm not winning good quality. Thanks for listening!
  5. I'm so mad at PRICELINE, I can hardly see straight! The reviews on Tripadvisor are horrible for this hotel. I don't see many wins for this place. I think I'm done with PRICELINE.
  6. Followed the advice from the moderator! I'm happy with that!
  7. Thank you so much for your expert advice! I was accepted at $90. by the Marriott Toronto Airport. I'm very happy with that, and interested to see what the hotel is like.
  8. Maximum bid is $100. Best rate is $234. for the Westin at the airport. Yes, I'm using re-bid zones. Sorry, best rate for the Westin is $228.
  9. One night's stay: May 12-May 13, 2008 at Toronto Airport. Have bid up to $80. USD, but no takers. Help!
  10. Actually for my dates, the Doubletree, Swan, and Dolphin are all showing on Priceline as of today. I think a Disney resort will best suit our needs, especially for continuous type transportation to the parks. My question was: do the Disney owned resorts ever come up on Priceline or Hotwire?
  11. Since I don't want to rent a car, I think our best bet is a Disney resort. We may tack on a short Disney cruise at the end of our stay, so then I will want to save money on the hotel. Do the Disney resorts ever come up for bid, or on HOTWIRE?
  12. August 25, 2008 - September 2, 2008 Under $100. per night
  13. It's the Doubletree Lake Buena Vista, and I don't see it on the Hotwire list.
  14. Thinking about taking the kids to Disney World late August 2008. The Doubletree In Walt Disney World interests me because the suites seem to be quite roomy. Can I be guaranteed to get it by bidding in a certain way? Thank you!
  15. I'm totally new at Priceline bidding. We also needed a hotel (pre-cruise) for January 4-5, 2008. A few pages back I had an entry titled "Why so expensive Jan. 4-5, 2008?" I think the prices are very high at that time because it is high season, and apparently there are many ships in port that weekend. On another bidding website, someone wrote to say he got the Yankee Clipper (3*), on those dates for $150. Maybe there will be some hotel deals closer to January. Since we will have a rental car, we opted for the Crowne Plaza West Palm Beach (3*) for $112. Otherwise, the hotels in Fort Lauderdale are still sky-high on those dates.
  16. Thanks for your concern! Yes, even on the internet, we can't find all the information we need to know, like someone who actually lives there. I do understand about the peak season, and I'm not unhappy about staying in WPB. After the cruise, my husband and I need to get over the the Palm Beach Airport for departure. Is the train(not Amtrak, the local one), good to get there? Thank you very much!
  17. Will be staying in West Palm Beach for the night of January 4, 2008. I bid up to $90. on a 3 star hotel, then got a little note from Priceline saying if I bid another $22. my price would be accepted. So, final price was $112., and got the Crowne Plaza at the airport, West Palm Beach. I'm very interested what the prices will be for other people wanting rooms early January 2008!
  18. Hello, I don't mean to interfere, but I did bid on Priceline for a 3 star hotel, West Palm Beach, Jan. 4-5, 2008. Had to bid $112., was accepted, and got Crowne Plaza at the airport. Hope this helps!
  19. Pretty well have ruled out staying in Fort Lauderdale pre-cruise Jan. 4-5, 2008. I can't justify paying the prices both Priceline and HOTWIRE want. Since we are spending a few days in Orlando before the cruise, I think we'll rent a car on the 4th, drive down mid-day, and stay somewhere an hour or so out of F.L. for the night. Probably will use Priceline again in the future. The prices at this particular time for me are "unreasonable."
  20. I bid up to and including $100 for a Downtown 4*, and was rejected. That's fine by me, it's a 4*. Interesting that the 2.5* Courtyard Airport is asking $289.(Priceline) Haven't started on a 3* yet.
  21. O.K. Airport and Downtown zones. I'll try bidding up to my limit on a 4* first, before trying for a 3*. Thank you!(please tell me again how to find the SavingsBarn link)
  22. I'm ready to bid. January 4-5, 2008, 3* airport hotel, Fort Lauderdale. Areas close to the airport, i.e. Hollywood, would also be fine. Is $130. maximum bid too high for a 3*? Could I get a 4* for that amount? Thank you!
  23. Thanks for the information, it's making more sense now! It was just initially a big shock to see for example, Days Inn at $229.(Priceline) Thank you again!
  24. O.K., thanks for explaining that to me, I understand it now! That's why I wrote in, thanks again for your help! Since I am new to Priceline, I appreciate your expertise. Since there isn't that much difference in price between a 2.5* and a 3*, I think, I'd aim for a 3*. Interesting that Holiday Inn is listed as a 2.5* and a 3*. Would you be able to name a good starting bid for a 3* airport hotel? Then I need to think all that over for a while! Thank you very much!
